Just a wonderful pharmacy. I require specific generic prescriptions and the larger retailers deal in bulk and are unable to stock the medication I need. THANKGOD for West Roxbury Pharmacy and its fantastic staff. They are as capable as they are kind. I highly recommend getting your prescriptions filled here. They are consistently wonderful.

Our family has filled all of our prescriptions at West Roxbury Pharmacy for nearly 20 years. The pharmacists have always been exceptionally helpful and, most importantly, extremely kind. We truly hope they will never leave the neighborhood. It’s a totally different experience than dealing with CVS or Walgreens.

I had been filling my prescriptions at Target, but after moving from Stoughton to West Roxbury, I needed to fill my prescription somewhere closer. I am all about supporting local businesses, so I tried, REALLY tried, to get my prescription filled here, but I have never encountered so much incompetence at a pharmacy before. If you want to waste your entire day trying to get a prescription filled, go here. Otherwise, if you’re busy like me with a full-time job of smashing glass ceilings, and an urgent need to avoid pregnancy with a common oral contraceptive, try going elsewhere! I spent the entire day trying to get two basic prescriptions transferred to West Roxbury Pharmacy. After being on the phone multiple times with West Roxbury Pharmacy and Target(time wasted entirely due to the incompetence of people at West Roxbury Pharmacy), I finally think things have been sorted out and my script had been filled. When I show up they finally tell me that they don’t stock my prescription(a common oral contraceptive that I have never had any issue getting before), and it would have to be a special order. REALLY? If you have to make a special order, fine, I understand, but after being on the phone with them several times throughout the day, they couldn’t have mentioned that fact before I actually show up?!? FINALLY, it is now the evening, and I had to make a last minute call to the nearby CVS to get my prescription transferred OUT of West Roxbury Pharmacy so I could get it in time. But no, it turns out that West Roxbury Pharmacy told CVS that I walked out of their store with the written prescription in my hands so they have no record of it(a script that was never written — it was called in by my doctor to Target a month earlier). WTF?!? So basically, West Roxbury Pharmacy has«lost» my script(because Target already had it transferred out of their system) and now I am going to have to be back on the phone tomorrow with my doctor to get a new script sent to CVS. I am a very accommodating person — I have never left a negative review on a business, but this pharmacy has just about caused me to rip my hair out!

They are pretty helpful here, although there selection is not great. They will order special products for you if you need them, which is a nice touch. Some of the customers seem a bit grumpy, but that is not the company’s fault. I prefer to get my prescriptions through them instead of another drugstore.

For routine prescriptions, I can’t understand why anyone would go to CVS and wait in line, when you can go here and breeze in and out. The longest I have ever waited was for 2 minutes when a couple of kids in the line ahead of me had trouble counting out their change for penny candy. The pharmacists are very friendly and willing to help or offer advice. Their prices for OTC items like decongestants and antihistamines are WAY cheaper than CVS. They take most(all?) health plans and even have delivery if you can’t make it in. The only downside is that they are closed on Sundays and are only open until 6:00 during the week. But for recurring prescriptions they are such a pleasure to deal with compared to the chain stores.
