Update: After submiting a BBB complaint about this situation because the seller has not made any attempt to resolve it, Autos of Palm Beach has accused me of trying to extort them and slandering them. I have never ever attempted to extort them or slander them in any way. All my reviews were born out of what I would consider a negative experience. I only placed feedback on them after they were unwilling to remove a phony unpaid item claim on my ebay account for the car. I never threatened a negative review on them at any time if they did not pay me. THEY requested that I tell them what was fair to go towards the tires, and I quote:
«Good afternoon Philip I apologize for the tire I used a gauge and may have read it wrong. As for the seat if I had it here I could get it taken care of here we have a person on sight that takes care of that. We have been very busy and our man had a death in his family. It was an oversight. What do you feel would be fair on the tires. Keep in mind if you bring it to B.M.W. they will be the highest price. You had the car inspected and I was under the impression you were satisfied with the inspection that is why you purchased the car.

— They are trying to say I made some «demands» of them, which I have not –I was asked them what I thought was fair. I simply stated:

I have been in touch with a company who is known for BMW leather repair, their kit & treatment will be $ 250. They are custom making the dye to match and will be sending it asap. I think $ 1250 for the tires and leather repair is fair.

— They continue to try to press the case that somehow this is all the pre inspection company’s fault rather than try by any means to resolve this. I have yet to get any offer from the business to resolve the situation.

I have had a similar experience with this dealer. I saw the unit I purchased when it was listed on EBay. I did not, however, purchase it through a ebay as the listing had run out. I also lived out of the state of Florida when I purchased it. We had some problems with financing and the dealer put me through a credit union in Iowa who charged 8.5%. That was not unsettling at the time because I refinanced it through my credit union at a much lesser rate. It did, however put two more credit inquiries on my credit that were not helpful when we went to finance a new home in Florida.
Immediately after I received the unit, I suspected a leak in the power steering but was not able to verify it. I did notify the dealer at this time. I purchased this in June 2014, and after only driving it 3000 miles, by December, I had replaced a battery, serpentine belts and rack and pinion because the original leak surfaced and made this necessary. I have contacted the owner, Mr Spaulding and he claims it was too long a time elapsed for them to accept responsibility.
I ultimately researched this unit, a 2006 Lexus RX330 through the Lexus website and found that it did indeed have a history of problems with the rack and pinion. I have asked the dealer for half of the cost of repair on this item, but no reply. As we now live in Florida, my next step will be making a formal complaint through the government agency responsible here. I believe I have not been fairly treated in this instance because this unit was not represented as it truly was having a history of maintenance problems in this area.

AUTOS OF PALM BEACH (from my own personal experience) has been the worst and the most deceptive and fabricated purchase in my life ever.
This review is to assist you in your decision before you trust in ‘positive’ and ‘ficticious’ EBAY feedback and lose thousands of dollars as I did or have looked over the website and its disclaimers. Even here on Unilocal, much of the review or feedback isn’t legitimate and is attempts to write it by the employees and investors of AUTOS OF PALM BEACH.
Do you ever wonder if REVIEWS and FEEDBACK are actually authentic or can they be manipulated or erased as mine was?
My EBAY purchased vehicle from AUTOS OF PALM BEACH arrived with $ 3000 in body damage-​SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED (3 written estimates obtained), the rear wheel lug nuts missing (2), the BMW badge missing and extensive mechanical work needed including recalls.
AUTOS OF PALM BEACH claims no responsibility but has admitted that they do not own a ‘lift’ or facilities to inspect vehicles beyond cosmetic appearance.
AUTOS OF PALM BEACH has (EBAY item #171 167 149 613) even managed to have my entire transaction on EBAY removed so that future potential customers cannot see the negative feedback that I left. That’s how they achieve a 100% positive EBAY rating on EBAY. I couldn’t say such if I didn’t have the documentation and it hadn’t happened.
AUTOS OF PALM BEACH even had charged my AMEX card $ 1150 for a $ 925
shipping waybill. AMEX has since accomplished a ‘chargeback’ against AUTOS OF PALM BEACH for the ‘manipulation’ of the credit card charge. We have since reimbursed Autos Of Palm Beach the correct due amount of $ 925 for the shipping.
My review here is also directed at myself. This is partially my fault. I trusted in the online EBAY reviews at a 100% rating score. I never expected that AUTOS OF PALM BEACH could remove my EBAY feedback or any other negative feedback so that it appeared like they had perfected a true 100% feedback rating.
The EBAY listing said the car was ‘wonderful’ and ‘fantastic’ and I
believed in the EBAY posting description that AUTOS OF PALM BEACH had posted; *especially* with the 100% positive feedback rating on EBAY. I never even considered that EBAY feedback can be manipulated or changed/​altered.
In my case, even eliminated altogether…
AUTOS OF PALM BEACH later offered $ 400 towards the $ 3000 in written damage estimates (3 supplied to them). THEY’VE NEVER HONORED EVEN A DOLLAR OF THAT OFFER OR PROMISE. However they did say that they would later honor it if I were to agree to remove ALL FEEDBACK (such as this review) on any website where the public can use reviews as a guide towards their future or buying experiences. Once again, AUTOS OF PALM BEACH was attempting to supress any review that is negative or truthful in content that the public could see. $ 400 now felt more like a bribe… I declined.
USED CAR DEALERSHIPS have a well-​earned reputation of dishonesty. In today’s world of online shopping a website can sell any image; real or not.
Keep in mind that if you also buy in another state, you are subject to the laws of that state. In my case Autos Of Palm Beach had its attorney on me with threats of a lawsuit.
Seriously consider your decision before you possibly purchase any car online; especially from another state and especially from Autos Of Palm Beach.
