Business Owner

My name is Jose Isidro Tajes and I’m part owner of K’Fe Empanadas with Hector Carballeda. We were both born in Galicia Spain but immigration took us to different countries to make our lifestyle better. Hector went to Mexico and I came to NY in the 80’s. Our families worked hard to give us a better living and an education. When we got older, Hector came to NJ to marry his wife Lupe and took over the family business in what many of you know as Discos Pepe. I also got married to Karina and got a job in Information Technology, then opened my own business doing security cameras and all types of network related installations. We meet through our father in-​laws playing Spain’s most popular sport (soccer). We’ve started getting to know each other better and after a couple of years the idea of opening up an empanada place clicked. We opened K’Fe Empanadas on Feb 9^th 2015 without any help from mother nature but here we are to offer what we believe to be the best empanadas in NJ.
