The Urban Market is a small place in the Purdue Union to grab a quick bite. It is very convenient because it has about anything you could want for a quick snack. They serve freshly cooked meals everyday of the week which are different each day. But, they also have plenty of other quick snacks to choose from. Also, if you don’t feel like waiting in line for coffee at starbucks this is a great place to go to grab a quick coffee. They usually have over 5 different flavors to choose from. The employees are always very friendly too. The only negative thing I have to say about the Urban Market is that some stuff here can be a little pricey.

The Urban(Rural) Market is a little fancy convenience store(for organic and natural foods) and a lunch spot during the weekdays inside of the Purdue Memorial Union. I wish they had a better website but I know that Wednesdays is their Indian food day, which I think is their best. Other days they have(depending on the day) things like pastas, grilled vegetables, fried fish. They also brew Joe’s coffee and usually have about 3 or 4 different flavors, and you don’t have to wait 15 minutes in line for some starbucks, which is always burnt anyway. Cereals and oatmeals are also offered in their«loops» section. I would have given the place higher than 3 stars if they hadn’t shown how stingy they were. They used to have really delicious(and cheap) oatmeal, but they started watering down and decreasing the portion size :( I remember when they first started downsizing one of the guys felt bad and started making the oatmeal the«old» way, right then the blonde manager(who always walks around like she just killed someone in the back and is super happy about it) came yelling at him about how he was doing it all wrong. Dude says something like«but I feel bad doing it that way…» Needless to say that was the last time I got a decent oatmeal from that place. Oh wells. Now I just buy the instant kind at Indy’s Trader Joes when I am there.
