I come to this location once a week or every two weeks to do laundry(starting April 2015-current February 2016), so I don’t have any input on the tanning beds. I truly love the fact that it’s open 24 hours with exceptions of holidays. I’ve found a few frustrating things so far with the employees and the machines itself. First, I’m not sure what type of things the employees are supposed to do, but I feel like they could be doing more than they are such as sweeping the floor, changing the trash, or even wiping the tables down. I understand that it’s busy during certain parts of the day and it would be hard to do those things, but would it really be so hard for the employees to walk by, push the red stools in or even move the carts back to a spot instead of them piling up somewhere? I’ve found myself doing their job more than they are by just organizing and pushing the carts back to the tables when they’re not in use. Second, I’ll have you know that I love that there are various type of washing machines to choose from! However, what’s the most frustrating thing ever is when I have to throw a piece of clothing away because it has grease stains or gum on it — I never knew using a dryer could possibly make a piece of clothing look worse than before it went in. There has to be a way to clean the machines and junk out of the dryers. Granted, there ARE signs posted to look for grease and gum… Last but not least, the environment of the laundromat varies within time and day. I’ve had random children walk up to me and ask for money. There have been women who blatantly yell at their infant children to stop crying and families getting into full on yelling matches — that’s not something I want my toddler son experiencing. On busy days, out of selfishness, people will sit at the tables by the dryers and stack all their belongings in a cart provided by Levee so others can’t use them while their clothes are in the wash. How annoying.

This place is amazing. Easily the cleanest and most well maintained laundromat in the lafayette area! There are so are many different sizes of washers to choose from to accommodate all sizes of loads. The dryers are also very large and effective typically only taking 35 – 40 minutes to dry a large load!(they also offer a drop off service if you are in a hurry, just pick it up 8am next morning. love this.) And while your laundry is running its cycle you can walk over to the tanning side, and kill some time by hopping into a tanning bed. There are so many packages, beds, and lotions to choose from and accommodate anyone’s tanning needs.

Have you ever wanted to meet all the people on Lafayette’s most wanted list? Have you ever desired to wash your clothes in a setting that will probably leave them dirtier after washing than they were before you brought them here? Look no further than this Levee Laundry and Tan location. This place is dirty and overpriced but damn convenient. Words can’t explain the level of filth of this location. I brought my laundry here once because all the machines in my apartment building were occupied. Upon entering I found dirt still inside the washing machines. The dryers aren’t much better either. You will find gum inside of most of the machines. The folding tables may lack actual accumulation of dirt but I’d suspect they have never even been wiped off. The floors throughout the laundry area always had dirt spread across them and appear to be seldom swept or mopped. The tanning side doesn’t get much better. The floors in the tanning side are still dirty and the general appearance of the tanning rooms appear to be in disrepair. There were several of the radios that did not work at all or speakers that didn’t have sound coming from them. I have also experienced several of the beds with faulty bulbs that aren’t promptly replaced. My biggest complaint, however, is the privacy of the tanning rooms. There are clear gaps between some of the doors and can be seen into from the hallway. One bed I used had a faulty lock and I had to choose between either having a locked door but with a gap of over an inch that allowed any passerby to look into the room or to leave the door unlocked and had the gap closed enough that it would be harder to see in. I’m not particularly concerned about someone looking into my tanning room or having someone use their camera phone to snap a picture of me naked but I would be concerned about this if I were a female and you should be aware of this. As for the employees here, they are either super friendly and helpful or rude and incompetent. It’s really hit or miss with them depending on when you come. Now, the one big upside to this location is their hours of operation. They are open 24⁄7 which makes it very convenient if you want to go tan or do laundry late at night when everything else is closed. I never found a good time to come here in which it was just college students. No matter what time I came, there was always a few sketchy people that I’d run into(meth heads, thugs, homeless-looking people). This wasn’t a big deal during daylight hours but after dark it did give you cause for concern. I’d avoid the location if you can but this place is open 24⁄7 so it is there to use when other places are closed.

This location is ridiculous. I have taken several pics over the last few months. I am a diamond level customer. The diamond level beds at this location are the oldest and most rundown beds available. I’ve had to get dressed and go back to fromt desk several times because the beds aren’t operating correctly or at all. One time… I had to get dressed three times before just leaving. And the actual beds and rooms… I’m talking about hanging wires, holes in the wall, missing buttons with exposed wires in the beds, always a burnt out bulb… Need I say more. The other locations are a lot cleaner because well… They are A LOT newer. Very few of the diamond beds have working radios or radios at all. The radios that do work are car stereos from the mid 90’s. I mean seriously!!! Almost $ 100 a month and that is what you’re giving your highest paying customers? With the type of money the owner is raking in from a Big 10 school… They can’t put a little money back into the business? If for no other reason than the safety of the customer(hanging and exposed wires in the beds). Wait! They did put a bunch of money back into the business. I’ve seen them replace numerous low level beds. I guess the less you pay the more you get for free??? Why does a customer who pays $ 30/month for a Snap Fitness membership get free tanning and the customer who pays almost $ 100/month can’t get a free Snap membership? Seems like a good incentive for members to upgrade. Diamond members pay the most and there is no upgrade for them. All other levels get numerous discounts and incentives. Diamond members… NOTHING. WAIT! We get a discount on lotion. Let’s face it… In the age of Amazon, people aren’t buying lotions in the salon for 4 times the price. So, realistically, the diamond member gets very little for their money. I guarantee they come in to tan a lot less. Isn’t that the point? So who is benefitting more from this transaction? I had to tell them to stop sending me their flyers and coupons. It’s not like any of them would benefit me. Why would you waste the money on paper and postage when you could put the money back into the business and fix the beds, holes in the walls, exposed wires, and replacing the NASTY or the missing ceiling tiles(brownish yellow… DISGUSTING). I have addressed these issues with management I have sent a emails with attached pics. I get absolutely no response. I’ve even brought it up to the employees. I feel sorry for most of these girls. They are cannon fodder. I have yet to talk to an employee other than a manager who does not totally agree with me. They look around before they engage in the conversation. Seems like operate under Gestapo management. They genuinely look concerned as to not get caught agreeing with me. It’s quite obvious the owner’s only interest is capitalizing on Purdue students. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. It’s hard to believe they’ve remained in business this long. I only keep my membership because of the convenience to my home. I’d be a happy customer if they would take care of their highest paying customers. I’m sure diamond level members are a very small percentage compared to all other levels. Why wouldn’t you want to retain these customers? Seems great for business when you’re customers are happy and speak highly of the business. Especially, the customers who pay the most…
