What a wonderful market they have the coolest things from frozen food to lots of fresh foods and noodles and every noodle you can imagine. I had a blast going up and down the asiles looking at everything. I cant wait to go back and look again. The resturant is hidden in the back of the market. It was our first time and enjoyable. Very different for me but I’ll definitely be back. Very authentic I thought. A must see! :)

We love this place! We really like authentic ethnic food. When we come to this restaurant we feel like we are visiting another country! The waiters are very nice and will make recommendations if you like. If you like sightseeing for your taste buds, there is plenty to explore on this menu. You can even order perrywinkle… whatever that is. Even our young children like this place. Mind you, we order less adventurous food for them, like fried rice and noodles. Our kids’ favorite part of the trip is exploring the Chinese grocery store and buying interesting candy on the way out.

Northeastern food. And some of the dishes are excellent.

Large portions and authentic dishes. Being Chinese, I wanted Chinese food while in the area. I found this place on Unilocal. You get a bowl of rice with each dish you order.

Went to this place while on a business trip. When my friend said it was located inside a grocery store, I was a little shocked. It’s tucked away in a shopping center. When walking in I was greeted warmly as if I was in someone’s home. Service and food was AMAZING! +Family style dining +Large menu +Service –No free fountain drink refills

Honestly, their food is one of the best foods in town. The grocery section is very limited but you’ll be able to find most of the items you need. Food selection is awesome! Extensive menu and great pricing.

Awesome little market that’s got the freshest selection of Asian vegetable in town. They also sell duck! Lots of Asian delicacies, rice porridge toppings, every variety of rice noodles, and snacks upon snacks. I’ve tried the restaurant a while back and had absolutely no complaints. The service is friendly and the food is nothing but fresh.

We didnt have any high expectation when we came in, yet got surprised when they brought the ma-la frog legs. The taste Szechuan pepper exploded in our mouth in the polite way, which gradually numb our tongues n lips. So good n addicting, just kept us wanting to eat more even though we re full. It is not an Americanize chinese restaurant. Do not expect to find orange chicken or general tzo chicken here. If you re up for authentic Chinese food then this is the place to go

I ate here with a group a couple months ago. The restaurant itself is dusty and sticky. Their glasses were not clean and neither was anything else. It was then that I became worried. I mean, if they’re not cleaning glasses, they’re probably not washing their hands or wearing hair nets either. ughck. Anyway, we ordered almost 20 different things, so I got a good gist of what they have to offer. Majority of it was traditional chinese food. I legit could not find any orange chicken or regular American Chinese dishes. Their lamb with cumin tasted like dog meat, or maybe like they’d shoved it under their armpit for a few hours before frying it up. I did like the dumplings stuffed with onions and parsley. and the sweet and sour pork was PERFECT. Some of the other dishes were okay, but I honestly didn’t know what most of them were called. I don’t think anyone knew what they were ordering anyway. They just kept bring plates and we kept eating. It wasn’t bad, but I probably wouldn’t eat here again. If I did, it would be the pork and dumplings and I’d take it to go.

This is the only place I will eat Chinese food from while in Indiana. The restaurant is a little odd because it’s in the very back of a store, but it’s good food. The food is served family style and the portions are large so go with a group. The menu is also a book, so it’s a great excuse to try something new each time you go.

This little hole in the wall is one of West Lafayette’s secret gems. You walk in and the restaurant is actually in the back of the market. Like I said, it is a hole in the wall kind of joint. I usually do not like Chinese food(the American kind makes me sick), but this place is great. Very authentic and the service is great. The food is served family style so bring friends and try a couple dishes. I have not had a single dish that wasn’t really great!

I’ve been coming here over the last 3 years and can honestly say that this is one place I head to when I crave Chinese food. This was my go-to place once I officially moved to the area and was a reasonable replacement for my favorite Szechuan place in Philly — Han Dynasty. The menu includes both spicy and non-spicy food and is very different from your standard American Chinese food. I haven’t been super adventurous with the menu but these are some of our favorite dishes — dumplings in chili oil, beef in chili oil(be careful not to burn your mouth when you pounce on it as soon as it arrives on the table), shredded pork in Szechuan style, beef with scallions(slightly sweet). I would highly recommend checking this place out. We’ve been regulars during our time here and will miss it when we move. Like others mentioned, this is behind a grocery store, so don’t be too confused when you enter. The portions are fairly generous and this is meant to be eaten«family-style», so an appetizer and one entrée could be enough for 2 people(depends on your appetite, of course).

This is a family style restaurant, not fancy, but the food is delicious. It focuses on Northeastern Chinese cuisine, so it can be different than the typical American Chinese food you are used to. I’m glad to find this restaurant since I’m not a fan of American Chinese food such as sesame chicken.

Went here for lunch and had a fantastic meal. I had the Szechuan peppers stuffed with ground pork and the dish was excellent. The menu was very large and so many of the dishes were unusual but sounded good that it was extremely difficult to choose. The menu includes both spicy and non-spicy items and plenty of vegetarian options(I went with a vegetarian friend). The grocery store in the front also had some very fresh looking produce. This place is between Poblano’s and Hodson’s and doesn’t have a sign so it is easy to miss.

Wanted to buy some bread in the grocery store. I asked what was inside the bread as I wanted to know if there was any paste or filling in it. The reply I had was well the bread is made out of FLOUR ! who doesn’t know that. The lady was just being so sarcastic. Pretty good variety of things but service just sucks!

Writing reviews of places like this is always bittersweet for me. Sweet because I get to talk about a ZOMGKICKASS place, bitter because I realize so many people will never give a place like this a chance because they don’t know the name or are worried they won’t be able to order anything. Anyway. This is one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever seen. It’s hidden(well, not hidden, but you certainly don’t expect this!) in the back of an Asian grocery! The menu is large, and there’s very few Westernized dishes on it, and I suspect even the Westernized stuff isn’t made the same as it is in the mega-chains. Most of the menu is what I can only assume is fairly traditional fare. There are numerous dishes the are made with various bits of offal(offal = organ meats and other normally discarded parts [such as tongue] for those that don’t know), and things such as lamb dishes and whole fish! While I’ve seen whole fish, I’ve never seen lamb included in Chinese cuisine! The service was great — very prompt, and they speak very good English. We ordered pork belly with garlic from the hot appetizer section, and lamb with pure cumin from the entrée section. Both dishes, honestly, were what most would consider an «entrée portion size.» We always split dishes when we go out; we don’t eat a very large calorie amount. Splitting these two dishes accounted for most of our food for the day — and happily so! I have no idea if there’s any way the food could have tasted better. I’m pretty sure it couldn’t have. It’s just that good. On our next visit, it likely won’t be after a night of slightly heavy drinking, so my stomach will feel more settled and ready for adventure, and we’ll order some of the more exotic fare! I can’t wait! If you’re willing to step out of the Food Court Express and give real, hand-made more traditional style Asian food a try, you’re NOT going to find a better place to do it than C&T Market. Wow!

Today we got up, bleary eyed. Unilocal Elites party HARD and we were no exception. We did our normal morning routine, and I made us some tasty veggies with Asian seasonings. UKers probably crave a good curry the morning-after. Other Americans crave bacon and eggs with all the sides. Jon C and I — we’re a little weird — we crave Asian food. Some kind of Asian food, ANY kind of Asian food. Was found Marty B’s review and stopped. And studied it with great interest. «Lamb with Pure Cumin» kept blinking at us from the review. Lamb, we love lamb. We’ve looked into purchasing a whole lamb from organic processors. We have goat and ¾ of a grass fed cow in our freezers. Lamb. Lamby lamb lamb. We did some work. but we kept exchanging glances. ‘Asian Grocery’ and ‘Lamb’ and ‘Food’ kept running through our heads. Yes, today that lamb would be ours. We went down to C&T Market. It’s not labelled very well as Marty said, it’s next to a Mexican restaurant and has a lot of ads for a. black soy beauty product on the window. But it’s there, thankfully the deities of Hangovers and Morning-Afters(Hunter S Thompson of course) was looking after us. They were open and we sauntered back, trying not to look like we were running. All the way back, to the right is the restaurant. Ample seating for probably, at least 15+ parties with overflow seating to the right. We studied the menu. Blood sausage, pork belly, intestines, stomach, pork, beef, chicken, melon, lobster, bean, noodles were words that all stood out . We hunkered down with our menus at a table. Pork Belly with Garlic and the mmm. Lamb with Pure Cumin were our choices. Offal will have to wait until our stomachs were starting out more stable. =) This was among the top 10 meals that I’ve had in my lifetime. The Pork Belly was spicy, in sesame/chili oil with cilantro and scallions and absolutely delicious. We were well into digging into that appetizer, when the lamb with pure cumin arrived. It was everything we could ask for. Rich lamb, in a spicy but not overwhelming sauce with green peppers and onions. We savored, we smiled, we nodded. People don’t ‘get’ Chinese food, or other Asian food. It isn’t Panda Express, it’s recipes from a family, made for you like they make it for their family. We went to pay, and the lady wished us Happy New Year. We are now entering the year of the Dragon. What an auspicious day to find this lovely restaurant that will be a frequent visit for us. Please go here if you want to taste Chinese food at its best. Share it with friends and people you love. Food this good should be shared!

This store has a restaurant tucked away at the very back of it. They don’t have a large sign above it like the businesses around it so I would have never noticed it had I not gone with a friend who highly recommended it. This must be the best Chinese food in town. It is very different than your standard Americanized Chinese food; I assume it is more authentic. I had the Lamb with Pure Cumin(#427) recommended by our waitress which was excellent, but everything my four friends ordered was also delicious, my favorite being the Shredded Pork with Hot Pepper(or something like that, #711). It had a little heat to it which rounded the flavor out nicely, but wouldn’t be too hot for anyone that doesn’t do well with spiciness. I would highly recommend checking it out, it really hit the spot.
