West Hollywood Children’s Academy

We have selected WHCA from a number of preschools because of it’s strong academic reputation. Children of my friends and relatives have attended WHCA and were able to enroll and successfully attend gifted programs. In addition to making sure our child receives excellent start to her education, we also wanted to develop socially by interacting with other kids. WHCA provides very friendly and exciting atmosphere for the kids of various ages. Our daughter has been part of WHCA form almost three years. Over this time she has gone through various «growth» stages consisting of constant mood swings. Yet, we could always rely on the teachers/​caretakers at WHCA to help our daughter feel that she is always loved and welcomed. Our daughter went from wearing diapers and sucking on a pacifier to learning how to read, write and count. The current teacher, who is in charge of the older, is amazing. She is a great teacher, but also makes sure that kids grow to be respectful of others and be disciplined. Despite heavy focus on education and less recreational time, all the kids are still having a blast attending classes and interacting with each other. The kids put together two recitals/​shows during the year, which are amazing. Everyone participates from very little kids to the eldest, and all have fun role playing and reciting poems. I would highly recommend WHCA to everyone. The foundation our daughter received at WHCA will last a lifetime.

My biggest concern was for my 2-​year old boy to be in an environment that was not only safe, but nourishing of his physical, mental and emotional needs. West Hollywood Children’s Academy is all that and more. It’s a bi-​lingual (English and Russian) daycare & school where positive development is engendered very early on, not just as a place to drop your kids off so you can go to work. Rates are great, much more affordable when compared to the other schools on our short-​list before settling on this place. There are little ones from all walks of life, good meals served several times a day, a nice, long nap time in an air-​conditioned house, music and playtime, books and toys wall-​to-​wall in every room and the ladies here love kids and are happy to change their diapers, which is a welcome relief (sort-​of pun not necessarily intended) if your little one isn’t yet potty trained, as is the case with my boy. Most import is that my boy smiles and greets everyone when we arrive and hesitates leaving each day before busting into a cute storm of «bye-bye’s» for everyone there. Can’t say enough good about West Hollywood Children’s Academy. Best decision I’ve made since my boy was born, hands down!

This is a true to nature Russian day school. Long nap time and three hot, home cooked meals. Plenty of art, dance and physical activities. Great Teachers and fun atmosphere.
It’s hard to find a great school especially for a 2 year old but my son likes it here and is learning a lot every day.
It’s also affordable compared to other schools in the area.
It is mostly Russian, Eastern European kids but a few American and Latin American as well.
