Sunset Cosmetic Surgery was founded in 2006 by Dr. Daniel Yamini and Dr. Steven Svehlak. These double board certified plastic surgeons in Los Angeles were looking to create a medical practice that specialized in ultra natural, precision cosmetic enhancements of the face, breasts and body with the highest possible standards of safety.

I have been seeing Dr. Yamini at Sunset Cosmetic Surgery for a couple of years now for Botox once or twice a year. As a publicist, I must’ve vetted dozens of physicians, because I wanted somebody who was the best in the cosmetic industry. I finally settled on Dr. Yamini because his reputation preceded him as among the vanguard. I’m happy to say he not only lived up to that reputation, but thoroughly exceeded it at every turn. After my experience with Botox, I turned to him for silicone breast augmentation. It had been ten years since my initial saline implants, and I needed a change. He was extremely hospitable and welcoming throughout the entire process. He literally made it easy. Most importantly, his work is beyond stunning. My standards are A-​list, and he gets an A-​plus. His aesthetic is that of celebrities and models and not botched reality stars. I’m beyond happy with the results, and he even made the recovery so seamless I returned for a lip injection shortly after the surgery. Dr. Yamini is the best. His staff is phenomenal, and his office is high-​end. Welcome to the future of plastic surgery. He is leading it.

I’ve got mixed feelings about Sunset Cosmetic Surgery. Their price is quite high, but the quality…
The office itself is just a-​ok, nothing really fancy, but it doesn’t really matter. What matters though, it’s the customer service and attention you get from the staff. And in this case, it’s really on a bad side. Th reception girls just ignored me every time I arrived and left the office. They were chatting, talking by the phone, looking at the computer, but when the actual customer was trying to ask a quastion (I had the one about validation) they were deaf. That’s so strange! It is a nice and expensive establishment and you’re not getting any attention whatsoever!
AND, They do NOT validate your parking and there is almost impossible to find meters. The parking structure charges around 10 $.
As for the doctors, I hfd dr Yamini doing a procedure. The result is fine, but not excellent. I would advice you to think twice before choosing a doctor, and keep in mind that the customer service here is not on the proper level.

Update on my lip reduction with Dr. Svelak… I can’t express how happy I am with the results. Dr. Svelak is genius and so darn talented. Everyone tells me my lips look so much better now and it seriously changed my whole face for the better. I look so much younger now! Several years ago some other doctor talked me into fat injections in my lips and put way too much in and I was looking so «done» and my teeth were blocked when I smiled. Dr. Svelak fixed it and it healed so well and they look pretty much how they looked before I got the fat injections to begin with. Even though the reduction scar in inside your mouth, you can really barely see it and nobody will ever even look at that area because it’s in your mouth. Thank you Dr. Svelak!!!

If you are looking for professional place to meet your skin care needs DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL! The esthetician is inexperienced with only 4 years under her belt does not give an in dept consultation to analyze your skin problem of type properly. It is a waste of time an money. And if you are dissatisfied with their service they are curt and become unfriendly. They do not have their clients best interest.
If you would like quality service with professional people who hold your best interest at hand for a personal investment DO NOT GO HERE!

First timer here at SCS! I came in for Juvederm fillers on my lips and under eye circles (one syringe each) and I am THRILLED with the results. I’m a huge chicken when it comes to needles, so I was basically dreading this appointment all week.
When I walked into the office, a very nice woman at the front desk offered me water and asked if I had eaten anything today because most patients who are as nervous as I was tend to get queasy. I actually hadn’t eaten breakfast and she gave me a delicious banana muffin to eat while doing my paperwork (which was a 5 minute breeze) and watching Sex and the City on the lobby TV.
I waited about 10 minutes before Dr Yamani introduced himself, and began to take my «before» pictures. I thought that was really a thorough gesture that they cared enough to monitor my progress and keep a nice log of my procedures if I were to become a recurring patient.
I explained my fear of needles and he really globbed my face up with the numbing cream – it felt great and was a very powerful and instant numb. He even gave me a tiny Xanax to calm my nerves which helped immensely.
When the injections got going, I COULDN’T FEEL A THING. Literally. It was so painless and quick. Dr Yamani then took my «after» pictures and I had no bruising or bleeding when I left. I even took a lollipop from the candy jar with me :)
Overall, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better experience! I am so pleased with the results.
(Plus, the office is immaculately clean, which made me feel like I was in good hands, and Dr Yamani was so patient and gentle with me). Great place!!!

I am highly disappointed with the performance of Dr. Svehlak. I trusted Dr. Svehlak to make an informed decision in selecting an appropriate treatment to enhance my appearance. Unfortunately, he ultimately made the decision to perform a very invasive cosmetic procedure on me that was completely in appropriate for my age range and particular case. This procedure has dramatically altered my appearance in a negative manner and his work has left me with a very visible 1 inch scar accross my face. Dr. Svehlak failed to disclose the gravity of this procedure and the scar. Furthermore, Dr. Svehlak knew full well that I was not an appropriate candidate for this procedure, but he decided to operate on me unnecessarily.
I have consulted with several top LA surgeons who told me that this he never should have performed this particular procedure on someone so young and who clearly didn’t need it. This procedure is reserved for women in their 40’s to 50’s. I am still a college student. Dr. Svehlak took advantage of my vulnerability as I trusted his expertise. It has become apparent that Dr. Svehlak lacks judgement and compassion. Now that I have chosen to speak out against Dr. Svehlak, I know that other women will have the courage to follow in suit.

Dr Yamini is the most caring and professional surgeon I have ever met; he gave me back my life with a breast operation and also removed moles from my daughter’s back.
The staff is genuine and caring and the facilities are immaculate. I will never go anywhere else.

Love these guys! I have been going to Dr. Svehlak for years now for various fillers and botox, and Melinda for peels. They are great at what they do! Dr. Svehlak does the most natural looking fillers I have ever seen. No one else will ever touch my lips but him, I mean that in a professional Juverderm kind of way. The staff and customer service is great too. I have referred many friends and one in particular had the bags under her eyes done, they look awesome now! I am so glad I found a doctor that has the skill to do such great, natural looking enhancements!
