La Cienega Alteration & Tailoring

I LOVE this place. I came in with my Chloe shirt with a big rip on the sleeve. It needed very delicate work because the ripped area is made of very thin lace. I got back a brand new shirt and it was only $ 35!!! She even fixed up other lose strings on the shirt. I am 100% satisfied with the work. Make sure you call before you go, as the go-​to tailor for Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Saks, and other big brands, she is very busy. But trust me, it’s worth it.

Said they would shorten the bottom of a dress by the next day and would call when it was ready (pretty simple task). When I realized they hadn’t called me, I called before they said they closed, 7:00 pm, and no one picked up. I didn’t have my dress for a super important work trip. When I picked up my dress later, they played dumb.

Anush is wonderful & has helped me with gowns to jeans & everything is tip top! I have a lot of brand name clothes which I have taken to others in the past who have ruined my pieces but never have I had any trouble with Anush. She’ll even tell me if I’m being silly & don’t need to take something in saving me money. I’ve run into countless friends while at fitting who also love her! If an sales person recommends an alteration I’ll ask «who’s your tailor?» — more often than not they say they use Anush because «she’s the best». You won’t be disappointed!

Do not even think about it! Absolutely horrible! I would give this palce and Anush (the seamstress) negative stars if I could.
— I was quoted two different prices when I initially called.
— I was told that my jacket would require minimal work (needed sleeves shortened) and that it would be ready in a week. After she complained of how busy she was, I told her I did not need the jacket for another two weeks, and that she could have the additional time. She called me on the day of pick up and left me a voicemail saying she had an emergency and had to leave her studio, and that I should not stop by to pick up the jacket. When I called back, someone picked up and hung up on me. My jacket wasn’t ready for about another week — and that’s after repeated phone calls!
— To make matters worse, on the first day I wore my new blazer, I found a pin within the sleeve!!! And to top it off, the head was inside of the lining, so I couldn’t remove it without puncuring it. I am fairly certain the work was done last-​minute, in a blink of an eye.
Alexander McQueen store on Melrose will recommend this place to you, but please beware! The work is shoddy and untimely, and the pricing is just horrendous (I was charged $ 75)! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I wish I had.
