History

Established in 1972.

For 40 years, George Stern has operated one of the most important galleries for California and American Scene paintings dated 1880 – 1940. Following his father’s footsteps, George opened a small gallery in Encino, C.A., handling early California artists such as Guy Rose, William Wendt and Maurice Braun. With its growth, George moved the business in 1989 to its current location on Melrose Ave.
