We specialize in getting you to your black belt. What does that mean exactly? We will help you become more flexible, agile, and improve your endurance. You will learn to focus better mentally and physically. You will learn to overcome stress better, get in shape and lose weight and gain the confidence and drive that will make you successful in your life.
Children in particular learn to be more focused, improve their grades and mannerism, along with lifelong lessons that will improve their chances for success. Shy kids learn to come out of shell more. Kids suffering from ADD or ADHD will improve dramatically, and become easier to handle.

History
Established in 1992.
West Hills Karate Academy/Academy Of Karate was started as World Karate Academy in a park program. Stoner Park, West Los Angeles, was our first home. The Chief Instructor of the academy is Shihan Bruce Hojati. From the very onset, his goals have been to bring fitness, fellowship and integrity, to his community through karate training.
The current location opened in June of 1998, and has successfully helped thousands of students receive their first instructions in martial arts.
Meet the Manager

Manager
Shihan Bruce Hojati has trained for over 30 years in martial arts, with his primary focus on Japanese arts of Karate-do (the way of the empty hand) and Kobudo (weaponry). Shihan Hojati is also ranked in Judo, Aikido and has trained in Jeet Kun Do (created by Bruce Lee), and Filipino Kali (stick fighting). He has written many articles from premier martial arts magazines, including Karate Illustrated, Master’s Magazine, and many more.
In 2002 he was licensed as a National Referee, by the USA National Karate-do Federation the National Governing Body for karate in the USA.
His direct instructor is Master Toshiatsu Sasaki from Japan Karate-do Federation. Master Sasaki is based in Sapporo Japan, and is a direct student of Late Master Nakayama, the founder of Japan Karate Association (JKA).
Master Hojati, is also a Realtor and Licensed Loan Originator, and works primarily in the west San Fernando Valley.
