The crazy lady hasn’t worked the front desk for over a year. The office may be dated but the service certainly is not.
Dr. Hanson is great.

I find Mr. Hanson to be somewhat shy of being totally ignorant. My elderly mother is under his care an I am not sure I can actually call it that. I called him about the drug cocktail he prescibed her and he responded as if I should NOT have any concern about the potential lethal combination. I have worked closely with different Doctors and most have a level of professionalism, not this guy. He is just flat out callous and rude. I checked at the CA Med board for infractions and complaints, strangely I did not find any.
There are numerous 1 star ratings on this site and no one has complained to where it can make a difference

I used to be a patient of Dr. Hanson until I had my own incident with «the crazy lady» at the front desk. Dr. Hanson himself is a great doctor, very kind, caring and I never felt rushed. However, after my run-​in with Crazy Lady, I’ll never be back.
Long story short, I was SEVERELY ill and came in for a scheduled appointment (one that I had waited TWO days for). Because my health insurance had just started one week prior, I had not yet received my insurance card in the mail. I did however, have a print out from the insurance company that had all of the required information on it. The other front desk girl nicely told me that they would not accept anything but the actual card. When I tried to explain that my coverage was new and that I had all of the information with me and couldn’t they do anything considering how ill I was (extremely high fever, flu symptoms, etc)… perhaps call the insurance company to verify coverage, «Crazy» (who must have been lurking nearby) came stomping over and literally YELLED at me that they would not take anything BUT the card and that «they’ve been burned before»… when I tried to speak, she rudely cut me off and continued to yell at me. The other nice girl gave me a look that this was normal behavior for «Crazy» and whispered to me that I might want to try the Urgent Care across the way, (which by the way took me in and took good care of me (Dr. Boris Vaisman)). As much as I like Dr. Hanson, I will never step foot into his office again. It’s apparent that the only thing his wife/​sister/​whoever-​she-​is cares about is $$, not the well-​being of their patients.

I have been going to Dr. Hanson since he took over this practice from Dr. Herdeg. He has always been terrific. I don’t understand the other reviews, the front desk staff has always been great. The prior doctor’s (Dr. Herdeg) front office needed some help, but Dr. Hanson’s is terrific.

The lady at the front desk gave me an attitude as well and raised her voice at me as soon as I asked a question about the insurance. I called back and she continued to yell at me. I took my business elsewhere to another doctor next door. Dr. Hanson himself is a nice doctor, but I just couldn’t deal with the lady in front. I think the lady in front (his wife) needs to see a doctor for psychiatric evaluation. My father knows Dr. Hanson personally and she still gave me an attitude.

Dr. Hanson may be great, but his receptionists’ unprofessional manner left me feeling ill! My health insurance referred me to Dr. Robert Hanson’s office for a seasonal flu shot. I usually head to Cedars Sinai but Dr. Hanson was closer to my home, so I would have been a new patient at their practice. The woman who answered the phone informed me that they do not have flu shots and then began yelling into the phone that even she can’t get a flu shot this year and she doesn’t need people coming down on her about flu shots. I thought this was really bazaar behavior for someone working at a doctors’ office so my insurance referred me elsewhere.

I agree with all the other reviews about the crazy lady at the front desk!!! Do not go here… it’s like going to a dirty trailer park!
