If you like to be scam this is the place for you. Before I start my membership I did ask the stuff about the cancelation fee. They lie to me saying that if I moved away I could just cancel the membership. That is a straight lie. When I moved away they said that I couldn’t cancel in person (that is not what she told me) and I had to send a certified letter proving that I was living more than 25 miles away. Took me a little long to remember about that letter that I had to send out. When I called the club to pay my bill the bill was already 170 dollars in three months and after I refuse to pay that much it went to collection and reflected on my credit score. So save you some hassle and go somewhere else.

This gym is not the greatest, they are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, they offer $ 10.00 a month actually $ 10.67 a month and u cant take none of classes, i was never told that i was not able to tske the classes or explained, but they want me to pay 21.00 a month and i can bring two people, i mean really i wanna signed up for my self. Please read the contract before signing it, or u will be another victim of Work Out World.

Wow!!! This sets a new record for the worst customer service in the world. Bruce Salvador Cruz — my hat is off to you for proving a new low in the world’s humanity. If you want to give your wallet an unfair workout to a rude scammer, I recommend this pile of heaping garbage as the place to go. It is good to know that this guy hates customers!

I’ve been a gold member here since April of 2014. I originally joined this gym because I was obsessed with spinning classes and I didn’t want to spend the ridiculous amount of money that most spinning studios required.
Pros:
For a gym that you only pay $ 10-​$ 20, depending on your membership level, the equipment is the standard cardio/​weight machine setup and the women’s bathroom is cleaner then you would expect. I researched and visited a lot of gyms within WOW’s price range but I preferred this gym because the staff was friendly, the members didn’t seem sketchy and they offered fitness classes that I enjoyed.
They extended their weekday hours to midnight to better accommodate people that love working out very late into the night.
Cons:
If it wasn’t for the spinning classes and price I would’ve probably chosen a gym that is apart of a larger franchise chain. This gym is privately owned so you couldn’t visit another WOW with the membership you have at this gym.
When you have billing or any other issues the staff is hopeless when trying to help you. They don’t seem to have been trained beyond the standard how do you cancel your membership.
Canceling your membership involves so many hoops that you will probably just want to keep your membership just to avoid the corporate dance. You have to send a certified letter to the gym around the time your membership is ending to end your contract. If you move out of state you have to send them a lease agreement that shows you actually moved out of state. I thought Ballys was bad but they are a close second.
The gym closes at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday which is pretty early for a gym that closes at 12am during the weekdays.
Overall:
For what you pay per month this gym is good for someone that isn’t looking for anything too fancy.

WORST GYM EXPERIENCE EVER. The gym smells bad and looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed in over a year. The people are unresponsive and unprofessional with no regard for customer service. If you ever require anything from anyone, expect to have to call at least 10 times with a dial of 3 minutes each (until the verizon operator says the number you are dialing is unavailable) until you actually reach a human. And their only excuse for this being that they only have one person working the front desk. If you need to speak with the manager? good luck… he’s never available to talk. if you need to cancel? expect your certified letter (which you have to pay for at the post office to get it «certified») to get lost in the mail. I would say you get what you pay for considering you are only paying $ 10 a month but this gym should be free with the level of service you receive. Terrible experience, wouldn’t recommend this gym or this company to anyone. Save yourself the heartache and go literally anywhere else for a better experience.

Pros:

Good if you live in hartford, west hartford, newington… save gas on traveling.
Cons:
The sauna has been broken for 8 years.
Dirty locker room, men’s toilets are gross.
The locker room has no heat.
The water boiler for the shower often breaks down.
Treamill and cycling machines are often «OUT OF ORDER»
Questionable roof: when it rains, there are numerous buckets around to catch the rain.

I don’t go there to dress to impress but i have to say those guys working out there today were friggin hot pumping iron. Even after doing my usual 3.5 miles on the treadmill I usually stay for some machines but had some errands but even as I walked out the door a hottie cought my eye and I could not stop starring. I think I’m doing more then sweating when these hunks are in front of me… talk about heaven, not like that all the time today must of been special!

Went out looking for a gym to join I was not impressed so I walked out. i waited 15 min. waiting for someone to show me around and got impatient. Over looks nice and plenty of machines just wasn’t for me.

While their prices are reasonable, I found the gym to be out dated and the customer service is terrible. When I tried to cancel my membership there were many hoops to go through. First I could cancel by phone or in person. They required a certified letter through USPS in order to cancel my membership. In an electronic world this place is quite out dated.

This gym SUCKS!!! Let me clarify that the facility isn’t bad and the staff are fairly accommodating but the need a LOT of help with whoever handles their billing. I had my bank cancel my card due to some Merchant fraud and after calling WOW to give them my new card # it was never correctly entered into my profile and they sent my account to a collections company!!! This happened 3 months in a row!!!
Oh and when I went to cancel I sent a certified letter, per the contract, and because they never processed the request before their 30 day billing clause (even though I have the receipt they received it before the 30 days) they billed me for an additional month.
Basically these people are scumbags and I’ll never join this gym again.

Just moved to Hartford… was trying to find a gym and I have to say WOW is pretty great and I’m glad I signed up.
Twenty bucks a month gets you unlimited tanning, fitness classes (zumba, spinning, upper and lower body workouts, etc.) and full use of gym (it’s gigantic). If you want to do just the weights/​equipment, it’s 10 a month (you can’t beat that price…). The locker rooms are clean, showers available. There is SO MUCH damn equipment! It’s unbelievably intimidating, even for someone like me who has been going to various gyms for a while. There are things in this gym that I have no idea wtf they are even for.
My only issue so far is that there seems to be limited ventilation. I like when treadmills have built in fans… but I can’t win them all.
Employees are nice as well! Especially a personal trainer named Tara! :)

It’s a gym for $ 10 a month. It’s big and even at 5−6pm, the max time you’ll wait for a machine/​bench is 5 min. Oh, and it’s $ 10 a month.

Overall, you get what you pay for at this gym. It is only $ 10 a month ($ 20 with classes). It isn’t the cleanest and doesn’t have all the «bells and «whistles» like other gyms, but if you are looking to just work out, they have everything you need. There is plently of free off street parking and it is only really busy during the after work rush (5 – 7). There is a lot of space and cardiovascular equipment, and rarely a long wait if you want to tan. There are a lot of classes as well. The spin classes are amazing (especially Luis and Matt). My only complaints are that the classes tend to start and run a bit late (sucks when you are running from work) and the spin bikes could be maintenanced more. Overall, I’ve been happy here and recommend it if you are looking for a gym without all the frills.

In order to cancel your membership, you have to send a certified letter. They won’t let you cancel in person. And once they get the letter, you have to wait 30 days. They still charge you in the meantime.
Just FYI.

WOW has everything a gym needs. A squatting cage, bench press, treadmills etc. It gets packed around 5 – 7 pm like all other gyms. I never waited long for a machine or bench to be open.
WOW isn’t the cleanliest faculty nor is the equipment the most modern. The roof does leak and the lighting is poor. The gym membership is $ 10 a month though.

I went here for four years just because it was cheap and convenient since I lived 5 min away. The machines were frequently out of order and the room for the spin class was ridiculously crowded and the smell made you want to loose your lunch. I did enjoy the kickboxing classes but that was pretty much it. What REALLY irritated me about this place was when I tired to cancel my membership they told me I was all set but then continue to charge me not only the monthy fees but a renewal fee as well!!! I couldn’t believe it, what a rip-​off! Stay away from this gym.

This place has the right equipment to get you fit. Other than that, pretty forgettable. It’s kind of dirty, not high tech, and the people that work here… well, kind of not that nice.
One thing that ROCKS – Matt’s spinning classes. The music and pace is terrific, and the 45 minutes are FUN. I live in CA now, and I still miss them! Just make sure you go early… they fill up 30 minutes before the class even starts!
