My boyfriend and i drove to munson’s chocolates in bolton ct from putnam on a recent saturday holiday shopping trip. I called the shop from our car near closing and informed the salsperson that our gps misdirected us and we would arrive close to 6pm. We arrived at 6:05pm to a locked door and customers inside. Another customer stepped up at the same time and asked for entry. We were turned away. My suggestion would be later hours near the holiday and that the salespeople exhibit more polite customer service skills. It was obvious that they were not the proprietors. Lost business.

I grew up near the original Munson’s and I’ve always loved them. I was happy to find this shop in Blue Black Square. They have wonderful truffles, and great flavors for chocolates, I especially love the crème brûlée and the lemon crème.

Never had a disappointment with any of Munsons confections. They also offer fudge that is better than most. The employees here have always been exceptional, kind and very patient.

This is a nice chocolate shop in Blue Back square. It is very clean and they have a great selection of chocolates. I particularly liked their chocolate covered bananas.

I’ve been around Munson Chocolates my whole life. Growing up around the area you either had bought some or someone gave you a gift of chocolates. I honestly have to say their chocolates are just ok. I have had better. First of all, I think they use too much sugar even in their dark chocolates. When I go buy Giardeli or Lindt or even the whole line of chocolates at Whole Foods they are much better. The chocolates are more well balanced between the cocoa and sugar content. I suggest that Munson’s take some advice from these companies on their ingredients and ideas. The new age of chocolate lovers love dark chocolate with less sugar than we had back in the day. I remember growing up in the 80’s and 90’s and all we had for the most part was milk chocolate to choose from that was over sweet. I think the people working there are doing a good job though.

I likes the nice little chocolate fountain they have at the entrance part of the store. I may have to say EFF Munson’s…I’m hopping on the Godiva band wagon!

Staff are helpful but sometimes fail to take orders correctly. My friend asked for dark chocolates and later realized she got milk chocolates instead. Also, why would someone ask if they want a box or a paper bag for truffles? I’d imagine if you buy 2 or 3 truffles then … fine. I got about ¼ lb truffles and she asked if I want to chuck them inside a paper bag. Munson’s is famous around Connecticut and I think it’s one of those regional brand that locals grow up loving. The chocolates are good, I must say.

I went into this Munson’s in Blueback Square for the first time a couple of weeks ago. They employees there were all really friendly while I tried to decide what I wanted to get for my co-workers. They were more than willing to answer any questions about all the different types of chocolates they had and were even willing to give me whatever samples I wanted. Great place and great employees!
