Suburban Rides

We used Suburban on our recent trip to Jamaica, excellent service, very friendly drivers .
Our driver even had cold water and a movie for us to enjoy on our ride home from the airport .

I used Suburban Rides for our trip to Orlando this past week. I was very skeptic about choosing a car service for my boys and I. This was our very first vacation and I wanted everything to run smoothly, starting with getting to the airport… and it did. Our driver Maricor, was fabulous. She was on time, actually early, but very patient to wait. She was friendly and so very polite to the 3 of us. She also picked us up when we landed back in Chicago. She again was there waiting for us. She seemed genuinely interested in our trip, asked questions, and was so nice and courteous. This far surpassed my expectations. I will use suburban rides in the future. Thank you Fernando and Maricor!

I have used Suburban rides a few different times and will continue to do so. The drivers are reliable, friendly, and professional. They are very good at communicating with the clients. Maricor was our most recent driver. She was patient and her vehicle was very clean. She even had tissue and water for us… a nice extra touch!

I used Suburban Rides this week for the first time. I set this up for my elderly mother to be picked up at O’Hare and driven out to Glen Ellyn.
She is in a wheelchair and was very nervous about traveling on her own and finding the driver etc.
From the start of this process Fernando was very accommodating and friendly. The driver usually sends a text message when they arrive but I let Fernando know that there was no way my 76 yr old Mother would be able to retrieve that from her cell phone so he put notes in her record to call her instead.
This was perfect and all went as planned. My Mother commented on how fancy she felt riding in a black Lincoln and how clean the car was. She also LOVED her driver Dion. She said he was friendly, personable and talked to her all about the area. He even took her down a few streets in Glen Ellyn to show her how much the area had changed since she grew up there. She couldn’t say enough nice things about him!
So thank you thank you for easing this daughters mind about her Mothers experience. You took great care of her just as you promised. She is looking forward to her return trip with Dion on the 19^th!

Excellent service and dependable people who are very professional !! They have immaculate vehicles! Rates were comparable to most and higher than some but to me-​worth it! The drivers keep in touch with texting and know your flight status at all times. My driver picked me up at the airport and at the exact location I was located.

We have been using Suburban Rides for both our personal and corporate needs for years. The drivers are always timely, professional and have immaculate vehicles. We always receive a confirmation text from our driver to alert us where to meet him for pick up from the airport, concerts etc. Fernando is fantastic to work with. Can’t say enough good words for these folks. Booked an early morning (3:30 AM) cab for a friend of mine from Schaumburg to Midway Airport. I was a little worried since I heard from many friends that they have had cab and shuttle services cancelling the bookings, unable to provide ride from suburbs to Midway… at last moments, especially at timing like this. But these guys surprised me.
I paid over the phone by giving my credit card details. But somehow, it was not penned down right and they could not charge my card, which the accounts team realized later. Despite, they stood by their commitment and sent a shuttle for my friend. They didn’t even get in touch with me for that the next day, which happened to be the Christmas… decided not to bother me with this during Holiday.
Finally they got in touch with me 2 days later, and yet again, I was in middle of a long drive from Vegas to San Francisco. They waited another day for me to call them back and finally get paid for the services they provided 3 days back.
Took me by surprise. What business do that now. Can’t recommend them enough. Such a reliable service. Fernando, greatly appreciate how you and your team operates.

I needed to reserve a car for a trip booked for my boss. Calling from Honolulu, I tried a few places in the Chicago area to get a few quotes. Prices were all pretty competitive, and what made us choose Suburban Rides was outstanding service. Fernando was personable and super helpful on the phone, following up with email confirmation. What really impressed me was that less than 24 hours before our reservation, we needed to make a couple changes in ride destination and time of pick-​up. I left a voicemail after 5pm Hawaii time, and with a six-​hour time difference did not expect a call back until the morning. Less than half an hour later, I received a call back, changes to our reservations made seamlessly. Main office and drivers all helpful, courteous. Pick-​ups and drop-​offs were on-​time and went smoothly. So great!

Don’t use suburban rides! After using the service for more then a dozen times I made a reservation to use their service to drive myself and family to and from an event. We needed a mini van because of the amount of people that needed to be transported. Two days prior Fernando called to tell me he had to cancel the reservation due to some fees that he did not pay. Whatever the reason, I suggested that he offer us two cars so that we could still have rides for that event. Fernando was shocked at the thought that HE would then have to pay two drivers! Bottom line, suburban rides is not dependable and their customer service is non existent. Fernando needs to manage his business!

They were super polite and helpful when I called and had useful advice for what time to leave from my location to get the airport on time. The time I had planned would probably have got me there late. Their kind customer service was a huge contrast to the other local cab companies I have used.

Literally just walked in the door and needed to write this review. Fernando, who handled my inquiry was very attentive and informative. I felt confident after speaking to him that my ride would be waiting for me tonight. Andy our driver, was professional, polite, and punctual. He was easy to track after our concert at Wrigley let out and got us home safe and sound. I would highly recommend them and use them again!

I think my email to the company says everything that needs to be said:
My driver from today should be immediately fired. I will never use your service again, and I don’t really care about an apology — I just want to make sure you are aware that your driver poses a huge risk to your customers and your organization.
Here’s the story:
My flight into O’Hare was on time, though I had to get a checked bag. The driver had left a message to call him when I arrived. All standard so far.
I text him when I have my bag and tell him which door I’m at. He doesn’t respond, so I call to find out what his car looks like. It sounds like he’s talking to a police officer, so I give it a few minutes and call again. He tells me his number includes a 111, but he is clearly agitated.
Moments later he pulls up. He says nothing to me when I try to confirm that I’m the person he’s looking for, but he takes my bag and I get into the car.
He then shouts, «That mother-f**ker just gave me a $ 150 ticket!»
He’s obviously upset and I just want to get home to my family so I just keep to myself, despite him reading the ticket while driving and clearly getting more agitated. I do my best to ignore it.
He nearly misses the exit for 290 (I’m going to Lombard), and only takes it once I say something. He gets a call while we take that ramp, and ignores my telling him to take North Avenue. I assume he’s going to take 83, since I know some drivers prefer that way.
As we get close to 83, he’s still in the left lane and not showing any intent to exit. I ask him if he’s taking 83, and he ignores me. I ask again, and he yells, «I’M NOT TAKING 83!»
I ask what he intends to do, and he says «NORTH AVE TO MAIN STREET.» That’s an idiotic path to my house from O’Hare, so I say «I’m sorry you’ve had a bad day! I just want to get home to my babies.»
His response, «YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WITH BABIES?»
I say, «No, but I am paying to get home to them.»
«DO YOU THINK I GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR MONEY? I DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR MONEY. YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY ME.»
At this point I’m actually scared for my safety. This guy has become completely unhinged, and is driving erratically and getting angrier and angrier. He is swerving from side to side in the lane and I don’t know whether he’s going to ram another car or run into a light pole or what — he seems capable of anything at this point. I stay quiet but am now contemplating whether he’s going to bring me home at all, or if I should try to get out somewhere en route. I am actually concerned that he’s going to try to run me down when I get out of the car.
He does end up bringing me to my house, and gives me my bag. I offer to pay for the ride. He says nothing, gets into the car and leaves. I go inside and hug my kids and wonder how that insane man could be employed as a professional driver. He shouldn’t be.
Needless to say, after this experience I don’t know what to do. Obviously I’m never, ever using Suburban Rides again, but that feels insufficient. I feel this story should be shared because I don’t want to sit idly by when other innocent people could be getting in this guy’s car.
I’ve been using Suburban Rides quite a while, and you’ve been pretty good for me in the past, despite a couple hiccups — but to allow this person to work for you, even for a day — you are actively endangering your customers. People need to be warned about a company that can’t screen out somebody like this. How in the world could this person be on your payroll?

Sorry to rain on everyone’s parade but there is such a thing as micromanaging and how about «the customer is always right» (well not always!)
When I called to schedule a pickup at ORD (Chicago O’Hare) for myself and an international passenger (my partner) arriving at about the same time as me, the gentleman was very interested in our flights and arrival times. I stated that I would like a 3 p.m. pickup. He insisted on having the details so they were provided. He was aware that my flight from within the US would be problematic since the evening before there were severe winter storms. I mentioned that I would contact him should my flight be significantly delayed or cancelled. I assured him that my partner would take the 3 p.m. departure unless I were to be delayed but still able to arrive the same day at which point I would contact him to make other arrangements.
The cab driver (according to the person I spoke with on the phone) arrived at ORD around noon and consistently pestered my partner with phone calls about his arrival and my delay. As it turned out my plane was delayed but arrived at 2 p.m. with plenty of time to get the luggage and find the cab. Unfortunately, the cab driver took another fare while the gentleman on the phone insisted, over and over again, that they did the best they could.
Really?! My partner and I were ready to depart ORD at 3 p.m. My partner had tried to explain that to the cab driver and someone else at dispatch. The company knew neither of us would be landing until after 12:30 p.m. at the earliest and one of the party would have to go through customs. Why would you send a cab at NOON?!! They also had my flight information which when checked would have indicated my updated arrival time. Sheesh!

I was very happy with my booking and service through Suburban Rides. I was comparing responses and prices among a few town car companies and in the end went with SR due to their pricing & service exemplified.
On the morning of my very early pick-​up, I had scheduled 5am but it ended up being about 5:15 am as the driver had issues finding my office. I ended up walking to the main street to help him in finding me. He played classical music on the way there which in turn made me feel classy.
He also chatted quite a bit which I can appreciate most of the time but for whatever reason that morning, I just wanted to kind of zone out in my solitude. Either way, I was pleased for the most part and would book Suburban Rides again for an airport trip.

Suburban Rides picked my son up from the University of Chicago and dropped him at O’hare airport. The driver was prompt, courteous and friendly. The car was clean. We will definitely use Suburban Rides again. Two thumbs up!

Took reservations well and was nice through process
Driver got slightly loss but called and figured it out within 3 minutes.
Left early for flight. No traffic.
And inexpensive for lincoln town car. Will use again when I’m in town

Excellent service.
Neil is very helpful. I received text and a call on specifics where he is going to pick me from the airport. Good service. Nice and clean car. He even offered me bottled water. I will definitely use their service again.

First time needing a ride to airport. Called around for quotes which can be quite difficult since everything is automated these days. Went with Suburban because of the Unilocal reviews. Price was good and the service was excellent. Communication was good both by cell phone and email. Will use these guys again.

First off I’m very picky and have no patience.
Awesome drivers both ways. They were on time for both home and airport pick-​up. Even had to change my time of return and there was no issues whats so ever. Great experience. I highly recommend them.

Excellent service.
We booked online for rides to and from Midway Airport. Fernando was very prompt with all of my questions. We needed a vehicle big enough to carry 5 people on the way to Midway. Neil was our driver and he was prompt and courteous, even sent a text message letting me know he was outside with a very clean black Minivan. On the way back from Midway, it was just me and my wife and Delray (I may have messed up his name, my bad) was our driver. Again, courteous and professional with a nice Lincoln Town Car. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Definitely will use them again.

Suburban Rides was our airport transportation for a recent family vacation. I couldn’t be happier with the service! Everything was booked online — super convenient and very prompt responses.
It was no frills — we needed to take a mini van to the airport on account of our party size (four people). Our driver was prompt, friendly, and extremely professional. My little guy was sick with a gross runny nose, and our driver voluntarily wiped his nose for him!!! It was awesome — helping out like he’s part of the fam.
We had a family member offer to give us a ride home from our trip — which meant we didn’t need the ride home from SR. I was nervous about canceling the night before, anticipating that we’d have a penalty fee since it was just about 24 hours of notice. We called and left a message with them at about 11 PM CST — they called back within 10 minutes confirming the cancellation with no penalty fee! I think that’s pretty damn classy.
I highly recommend Suburban Rides for Chicago airport transportation — no buts, no coconuts.

The first time i was introduced to Suburban rides, I had to arrange my guests transportation to the airport and they raved about it. They are price really reasonably and are very comparable to the prices for a taxi service.
I used it for my own travels from my home to Midway on 12/​21/​2013 and returning from Midway 01/​04/​2013. Both Drivers were great. They were on time (or early) and very attentive. I would rather use this service than any other car service or taxi service. Very responsive and able to provide great service.

My mom had a medical emergency and I had to recently take a last minute trip to Florida — called them and it was no problem getting a reservation. Every time I have a great driver! Always on time and very courteous — this will be my go to for all airport trips from now on! I have been very pleased with the service and reasonable rates!

Booked my ride 1.5 month in advance as I am a type of person who prepares in advance and this was for my birthday weekend with me and my twin sister so I didn’t want a lot of things to go wrong or be unprepared.
*Customer Service was very on top of things with answering emails and phone calls and very upfront, and honest with assisting with my booking.
*Paid them in advance through Paypal which was nice to be able to do.
Utilized this service on ¹⁰⁄₂₅ at 1PM
–Driver was 15 minutes late but I can’t complain as I was not in a rush to get anywhere.
–Car was way older but well maintained and clean.
–Driver was apologetic and helped with my luggage and very friendly.
FYI:
They do not provide rides in the city or from the city to suburbs as I was going to book them through out my stay in chicago but they only handled rides in the suburbs.
Final Review:
I would use this service again when I am not in a rush or anything.
I am not sure I would use it if i am trying to catch a flight, maybe if i was getting off a flight. I think their CUSTOMER SERVICE is waaaaay better than all the other car services I used over my birthday weekend (I used 2 – 3 others services over weekend) because other services took a entire day or 2 before you heard from them and the other services answered unprofessional on the phone or acted like you were a annoyance for calling them– I had one dude at a limo car service text me to say he was too busy to talk when i called «who does that in a business?». nevertheless, suburbanrides was Not like that which is why I would use them again.

Found on Unilocal with great reviews & called after pricing other places. Fernando was cordial & came in MUCH CHEAPER than competition for a larger vehicle. THE BEST SERVICE! On time, very nice driver –Eric & my new car service I can count on!
I called them for our return trip to O’Hare and priced out 7 or 8 other top rated car services. Not only did Fernando beat everyone’s price, they gave us a larger vehicle. I was really impressed by the price, vehicle and customer service! I won’t use anyone else besides Suburban Rides. Great business to deal with.

My plane landed at Ohare early and they were waiting, which was great. They confirmed by text several times. All went well and I would use them again. They charged what they quoted.
The only thing is they did estimate with no traffic 20 – 25 minutes from Ohare to Midway and it took longer without traffic.

FANTASTIC! Called here on a Friday night for a 6am ride to O’Hare the next morning. Completed our request online, they called to Confirm, and our driver was outside waiting 10 minutes early. Friendly guy, so helpful with the bags, comfy ride. He gave us his card and told us to get in touch and he could be available for us.
The night before flying back to Chicago, we gave him a call, and there he was, ready for us when we returned. Already had our address plugged back into his GPS and everything. And a nice touch, he had water bottles for us as well.
The rates they charge are exactly what you find on the website. No tricky business, flat rate. I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. This is our go-​to now for airport livery. I even asked for extra cards to give to friends. Like I said, FANTASTIC!
