History

Established in 2001.

The company was founded by David Briggs who has accrued over two decades of customer service and franchising experience specific to lawn care products and services. His work is an extension of his family’s longstanding history in the horticultural industry which goes back three generations.

The Briggs Nursery has been both a landmark business and community partner in North Attleboro, MA since its opening in 1961. David Briggs began his career in landscaping as a teenager while working at the nursery.

In 1992, Briggs brought organic-​based lawn care to the region by developing a NaturaLawn of America franchise and promoting environmentally responsible lawn care long before it was in vogue.

That experience provided a seamless transition into Mosquito Shield.

Rick and Tina Brogan were the first in Pennsylvania to open their Mosquito Shield franchise in April, 2013. Both have a history of working in or with small local business owners, and are very proud to bring this valuable service to their community.

Customer support was excellent! They felt like a small mom and pop business who are in touch with their customers. Delivered as promised and had excellent results for my event. I am actually going to sign up for their regular spray service next summer as it not only got rid of the mosquitos but also our ant problem as well.

We have had great results with Mosquito Shield! It had gotten to the point where we hardly used our patio any more. We would dash outside, flip the meat over on the grill, and retreat back indoors to avoid the blood suckers. :-(After the very first Mosquito Shield treatment, we were able to sit and read, eat dinner, and enjoy the sunset from our patio without having to use bug repellent at all. No candles, no bug zapper, no citronella, nothin’! It was pretty dramatic. We actually went out and bought new tablecloths for our patio table in celebration! :-) It has made a HUGE difference for us. Highly recommended!

Mosquito Shield is SO good. Not only have they eliminated mosquitos, but also their customer service and costs have been great. For example, when we wanted to add to the service to eliminate another pest, they did not charge us anything extra and they came right away! That has happened twice. We are so appreciative of their responsiveness and that they don’t charge us extra for additional things.

We live in a mosquito-​infested yard and neighborhood. I used to use EVERYTHING just to prepare for a simple summertime evening on the patio (yardguard, citronella candles and torches, bug spray and other contraptions…) we tried this service after hearing about the money back guarantee at the Philadelphia Home Show. It truly has been incredible– we never used another defense product all summer. I ma very spoiled, forgetting I need to spray myself with all that junk whenever we go to other people’s houses… I highly recommend. I think we paid about $ 400 for the entire season– they come several times, usually right after it rains.

I have to rave about this company… Not only is the actual product/​service unbelievable (I never dreamed I could have a mosquito-​free yard) but the folks who work there are just as wonderful! I have never been able to enjoy my courtyard garden in Philadelphia in July/​August without fogging for mosquitos or spraying myself, which I hate to do. We have not seen ONE mosquito since we started using this service, and I feel like I have been given back my yard! We hang with our neighbors and their kids, and it is like we regained a whole part of life back, where summers are about sitting out back with friends and neighbors. The folks in the office and that come to our house are kind, friendly and accommodating. (We live in the city and they have to call to gain access to our yard). I can not say enough good things about them, so if you have a mosquito problem and want a simple, affordable solution: This is the way to go!!!

I met the Mosquito Shield South Jersey team at the South Jersey Home & Garden Show earlier this year. They appeared to be a nice team that is genuinely concerned about eliminating mosquitos and ticks. We tend to have numerous mosquitos in our yard so I used them prior to a party yesterday. Our guests raved about the lack of bugs in our yard. Even after swimming at night no one had any bites. Great product and I will use them for years to come!

We were hosting a birthday party for my 80 year old parents two weeks ago. To say the least, it was important that the yard be «mosquito-​free». Fortunately, a friend had mentioned Mosquito Shield.

We did an event spray this past weekend because we were having about 25 people over. Its mosquito central in our backyard and prior to finding mosquito shield, someone was always getting bit if sitting outside. Rick did an awesome job going around our whole property the day before. During the party, only one person got a bite. When I took a poll the next day, no one else who was at our party got bit by Mosquitos. I would definitely do this again and highly recommend. Another plus is that it is all natural so safe around kids and pets!

I found out about Mosquito Shield just by chance on FB through seeing a posting and was very leery. I have been so happy with this product that I feel the need to RAVE about it!
We live in East Goshen, on an acre and I have 2 small children who had been bitten alive at the beginning of Summer 2013, so much that we had decided to stay inside. I had become to worried about mosquito bites and the sheer annoyance was too much to put up with. I refuse to use tons of chemicals and sprays which are dangerous to them and our dog.
So when I heard back from Tina & Rick, I was again curious if this would really work, but figured it was guaranteed so I tried it.
From day 1, we can truly count on 1 hand how many mosquitos we have seen since July. We live in a very «woody» area with lots of chance for pools of water, and places for them to breed. We have spent every day now this summer outsides, without 1 bite! I dread going to others yards now to sit or play, so much that I talked my father into getting their yard down!
It is something that is new but it’s a no brainer – Mosquito Shield has been a life saver for my family this year! Truly great owners, honest, reliable and so incredible nice to deal with! I can’t recommend them enough – my kids LOVE when the «bug guy» comes and treats the yard. They are the biggest supporters, since now they can enjoy their entire yard!
