Specialties
The Berman Center for the Performing Arts hosts over 200 events a season that are geared to all audiences. From plays to musicals to music festivals to lectures and book fairs as well as film festivals, every week at The Berman is a varied as are the audiences of Metro Detroit. There is something for everyone, from ages 3 — 300, all are welcome here!
History
Established in 2011.
Inspired by an extraordinary gift from Mandell and Madeleine Berman, The Berman Center for the Performing Arts is a beautiful, world-class theatre. The Berman showcases the Jewish Community Center’s exceptional events and offers opportunities for exciting new programs for all audiences of Metropolitan Detroit.
Since our first public performance in the Spring of 2011, The Berman has been the host to over 125,000 people for such performers as Barbara Cook, Marvin Hamlish, Patti LuPone, Bebe Neuwirth, Mandy Patinkin, Chita Rivera, Seth Rudetsky and J.B. Smoove & Lily Tomlin.
