Jax Kar Wash

I’m editing my review and re-​rating this business because of the costumer service I received after leaving my original review. The owner contacted me practically immediately to apologize and offered me a couple of things to make up for my frustrations with his employee. I’m hoping the manager I dealt with was just having a bad day, and normally has better business skills than that. But I do know that the owners are great people who care about their costumers and wouldn’t let anyone walk away unhappy. Thanks again!:)

Watch out for Shawn from «management». I visited Jax car wash Sunday for the first time due to it being convenient and close to my house. When I picked my car up I noticed a scuff on my bumper and a couple chunks of paint missing (yes chunks). Although my car looked beautiful inside and out and the man showing me my car was very thorough, I was concerned because I felt I would have noticed this before and wondered if it happened while my car was at Jax. I called and spoke to a manager to see if there were anyway of finding out what could have happened and he assumed I thought the machines did it, when really I just wondered if whoever drove my car could tell me if they hit something/​got hit. He asked I come back to see where this was located at on my car so I did. I was very polite as I was not accusing anyone just concerned because this is a fairly new car and I wasn’t going to just let it go without checking. The «management» as his coat said, was EXTREMELY RUDE to me and continued to roll his eyes and shake his head at me saying «I’ll check the cameras but this didn’t happen here.» He was awfully defensive and after I had enough of how he was talking to me I said «I feel like after I paid 120 dollars to have my car detailed here you could be a little nicer and considerate. I am not accusing anyone but was of course going to call back and see if anyone knew anything. You are being extremely rude to me.» He continued to roll his eyes at me and say «mm k sure». I will NEVER be back here. I don’t care if the marks on my car happened here or not, I own a business and would never talk to a costumer the way he spoke to me or let any of my employees. He continuously tried to belittle me and make me feel stupid. Sorry, Jax but I’m not impressed by Shawn your «manager.»

Jax have the reputation of being the best. However I was disappointed when I had my car washed last week Wednesday. When I pulled up there were three stations to drive through like a toll on the highway and I went to the nearest open one there were many choices of car wash offerings starting from the basic wash all the way up to deluxe starting $ 16.99 and up. I ask for the basic which was cleaning inside and out. I was jesters to pull forward by the next attendant and I read the sign that said we are not responsible for add on equipment on vehicle or anything left in the car etc. etc. so I began looking around to see if I should remove anything when I heard a loud roar «Hey Lady Move Forward». The voice sorta startled me so I quickly darted forward then I heard stop! Then I stomped on the breaks then I asked should I move back a little? Then he grunted «Naw, you good!» I looked at the attendant on the other side of the car and she shook her head in disgust. After that I gathered my things and got out of the car and proceeded to the waiting room. I waited about 10 – 15 minutes then I heard Black Sebring! I got up and approached my car. I asked the attendant can I get the new tire wash on my tires? He said no we don’t do that out here no more, you had to ask for it inside. When I got in the car I noticed it was not all that clean … Mediocre. What I’m saying is I could get that experience from any no named car wash. There was nothing special, I’ve seen better at Imperial Car Wash on Elizabeth Lake Rd. in Waterford. Yes, I will travel for a good wash. To end this experience I was disappointed to find that they had not vacuum my backseats! I’ll never go back there again. Pushy, and rude attendances and «shotty» work. It’s not enough to have a good reputation but you have to live up to it Jax!

I’ve been here before for an interior car wash and the job was so fantastic for such a good price, so that’s why I’m only giving more than one star.
I’m extremely angered by the lack of professionalism I experienced today. I finally had a weekday off and wanted to get my car cleaned again. It’s cold outside today, so I called ahead and a nice employee told me they were open. After running errands, I pulled up to the attendant. There were two in the booth. Immediately, one opened the door and said that they were not responsible for any damages done. They were not liable, I was. I asked what kind of damages could possibly be done due to the weather — they could not even provide me a response. Obviously, they did not want to work today. This is lazy and rude. I even researched what kind of car damage could occur with washing in cold weather and got nothing.
If I’m liable for damage when I’m not cleaning the car, then clearly they’re not doing their job right. I’ll go somewhere else now.

I will be honest: I really only come here for the free birthday car wash, which I’ve been doing for at least 20 years. Contrary to what other posters have said, you actually CAN get the full interior car was for free; that’s all I’ve ever gotten. They do try to upsell, but I can’t imagine what they’re trying to get me to buy, as the cashier spoke so fast that I didn’t understand what she was saying. I tried to get her to slow down and explain it, but she somehow understood that I wanted the interior wash, told me «happy birthday» and gave me the receipt, which showed that the price of the car wash would’ve been $ 16.99.
It took a LONG time to get from the line into the car wash area — a full 13 minutes from the time on the receipt until I got out of my car. But, they did a good job vacuuming all the crud out of my car; it probably took another 5 – 10 minutes until my car started to come through. In fact, one of the workers saw me standing at the window and he said it was on its way.
They have this thing that’s supposedly for kids that controls the soap being squirted onto the cars. A man who was ahead of me tried it «to see if it works», but I’m pretty sure that, like me, he likes playing with it. I did my own little experiment to see if it sprays soap if you don’t push the trigger. It doesn’t. So, I decided to be helpful and squirt other people’s cars until mine came through.
They do a really good job with the interior cleaning. They wipe off the dashboard, instrument panel, doors, all the windows. At one point, I thought my car was done, but one of the workers told me it’d be about 3 more minutes because they wanted to do the cupholders. (I’m not sure that they did, as there was still some crud in some of them.) I also saw them use a little brush to dust off all of the vents, the crevices in the steering wheel, etc. And they did a good job of hand drying, even going over a spot that I asked if I could get with one of their towels.
I really do need to remember to come back at least once between birthdays; even at $ 17, the kind of service you receive is worth it a couple times a year.

No attempt at upselling on the more expensive options, tons of brushes and fans, and a hand drying for a very reasonable price. I’ll be going back again.

I come to Jax all the time because it is very close to my house and work but I have been to other car washes and I love Jax because all the employees are sooooooo friendly and they do an amazing job on the cheap 5.99 wash. For 5.99 my car looks brand new and for 13.99 I get the inside and outside done and its like I have a brand new car! And everyone is working with a smile-​my fave part :)

Next to Troy, this is one of my preferred Jax locations. It’s very crowded, but the staff is so pleasant that you don’t mind the wait. You can get your car detailed or just come for a quick, high quality exterior wash. I won’t get my car washed anywhere else!

This is my first return to Jax since my not so good experience. This time, even though it was a very busy Saturday and the first nice day in quite a while, the experience was much better. The car wash was impeccable. I qualified for a free full service works package because it was my 11^th car wash. They did a fine job, other than a minor delay at the entry point, which is understandable because it was quite crowded. Everything went quite smoothly. Great job!
As an aside. In the past three weeks I went to a cheapie three dollar car wash that is in the same general area but around 5 miles away, to the northeast. The line was so crowded that they ran my car into the one in front of me, but no damage. Something like that would never happen at Jax, so I feel safe bringing higher-​end cars through the line.

My car looks new again. They did a fantastic job and it was very reasonable priced. Took longer than expected but I attribute that to how much work they had to do inside. Has a full interior and seats cleaned. Outside looked great too.

No faults — honestly. They really cater to all of my requests and needs; I leave pleased every time. I cannot say the same for the other locations, unfortunately.

I’ve had the Club Plan for years and enjoy getting my car washed here about 4 times a week. Tip the towel guys $ 1 and they’re happy for the acknowledgement. The vacuums are complimentary and were just replaced with much better ones. Whenever I have a problem here I’ve called up and usually spoken to one of the owners who take care of the problem the same day.

Tip: You are eligible for a free basic car wash ($ 5.99) two weeks prior or up to two weeks after your birthday. If you want to «splurge» on your birthday, you can pay $ 5 for the $ 15.99 job. Just show your ID!

These guys are great. I come a few times a year (yeah yeah), and they are always friendly, fast and professional. I appreciate places that answer your questions, and the attendant in the front gave me an idea on how to fairly tip the people at the end. I’m a newbie, what can I say?
An example of professional: Several months ago my brother surprised me by taking my car to get detailed here. It was washed, waxed, tires polished and the interior wiped down, vacuumed and cleaned of the detritus of receipts and wrappers. What my sweet brother didn’t know was that I had an envelope with cash in it for our parents. When he delivered the car to me, after I oohed and ahhed, I asked him about the papers in the side pockets. He gave me a few that the car guys thought were important, but none were the envelope. Since we couldn’t find it, I called this location and explained the situation and was told to come back, while they investigated.
No joke, I was about to reign hellfire on them if it didn’t turn up. When I arrived, the manager produced the envelope with a solid explanation. He had said they went through video, talked to all the staff that was working and then went through their trash can. It turned out that the guys saw a bunch of paper in my car, they just tossed anything that looked like junk mail. (My brother wasn’t clear on what should be kept or tossed.) Cash intact, they apologized profusely, as did I, over the mistake/​misunderstanding, etc. They never once accused the customer of the situation and did their best to rectify the situation — that’s customer service!
Anyways, these guys are good at what they do, and why mess with self car wash when you can do it here for $ 5.99+. You can even self vacuum (one or two has bad suction). In this part of town that has plenty of Mercedes, fancy SUVs and what not, they’ll treat your little hatchback with the same care.

This location of Jax is very busy, but moves quickly. The staff are friendly and always remember my name, surprising due to the volume of customers they see! I rarely do anything but the exterior wash here, but the few times I’ve done the interior I’ve been happy with the results. They are very careful and thorough. The exterior washes are always excellent, and they do a wonderful job on the rims even of you don’t pay for them to be done by hand. I’m not sure if everyone tips the folks who hand dry the cars, but I do and they always make sure to let you know they truly appreciate the tip– I don’t require this but it makes me happy. This is the best drive through car wash in the area, in my opinion. I’m pretty sure every drive through wash has started doing this, but the vacuums are free.

Apart from getting asked every time if i would like my windshield repaired… & the answer is again no… Especially as its not cracked. That Aside Jax do a good job of cleaning the inside & outside of your car & if you return for another wash within a few days it is deeply discounted. With MI Winter & Spring weather & what seems like Pollen Sandstorms this spring, this is a good deal

Jax is kind of a landmark for me. Ever since I was a kid I have been peering through those windows watching a car go bye. These days, and at this Jax, it’s even better. The kids can point and shoot soap!
Either way, I love this Jax location the most. The staff is friendly and thorough. You get what you pay for and they have great policies for rewash and promotions to come back.
I personally stick to the unlimited full service card, and it’s worth it. Sometimes I get a wash every day, and I like it — because I can. Good thing with the full service unlimited is that you can get a deluxe car wash if you don’t want the full service. Seems like it would make sense, but it just didn’t used to be.
