Specialties
Congdons is a full service bakery that has a reputation for great doughnuts. We make them fresh everyday and quite often sell out. We also have a full service dining room that serves a wide variety of breakfast items. Just added to the menu is a half pound lobster benedict that is absolutely delicious, while it is a little pricey at $ 29.99 it is a breakfast to savour when your out to celebrate a special event/day. It inclues that half pound knucle and claw lobster meat sauteed in butter on an english muffin, 3 fresh poached eggs with hollandaise sauce drizzled over the top and homefries… delish!
History
Established in 1955.
Congdon’s was started in 1955 by Herb and Bev Brooks. They were killed in a tragic airplane crash in 1964. Herb’s sister and brother in law Eleanor and Richard Leech took over the buisness and the families moved in together. Since 1981 their son Gary and his wife Diane and their 7 children have been running the buisness. It started as a road side takeout stand and in the 50+ years it has been in operation added a full service dining room. On a busy summer day over 10,000 doughnuts are made serving 1,400 guests for breakfast and lunch

Gary L.
Business Owner
I grew up in the doughnut shop and was a doughnut maker at age 12. Working with my Dad was an experience you don’t soon forget. I’ve always enjoyed the restaurant lifestyle, while it does have it’s issues i totally enjoy the relationships over the years with both staff and guests. It’s wonderful to work in a buisness that has a reputation for good food and service and it is a trademark that i try to instill upon everyone that walks through our doors.
