Description

Specialties

The Clever Hand Gallery is a cooperative, owned and operated by local Massachusetts artists. We sell jewelry, pottery, glass, clothing and accessories, ornaments, framed art and photography, children’s items and cards, all handcrafted by New England artisans. We specialize in unique, one-of-a-kind items that are both beautiful and functional. Many of our artists will accept custom orders.

History

Established in 1973.

The Clever Hand was founded in 1973 by a group of artists and craftspeople. For many years it was located in Mill Village in Sudbury. (The premises were destroyed in a 1999 fire). A group of members started a second store in Acton, which later moved to Concord. In 1993 the Clever Hand closed its Sudbury and Concord stores, and moved to its present location in Wellesley Square.
