It was my first time trying sushi and it was an excellent experience. Sushi Station had good service and good food. The overall aesthetic of the restaurant was very nice and friendly. We got seated right away and the place was very clean. Although when I went to use the ladie’s room the light didn’t turn on. The service was patient and good. I would recommend coming here if you’ve never had sushi before or just want to go out and get something different. The food was really good. I got the Holy Crab sushi rolls which were reasonably priced, along with everything else on the menu. I liked the crab sushi rolls.

I was so excited to see a sushi place come to Webster. I went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The place was super cute — a complete transformation from Dr. Jazz Ice Cream shop. It was modern and clean. The service was fantastic. The owner Pui came over to our table and introduced herself. She made a few suggestions and then followed up to see how we liked it. The unique rolls were intriguing so I tried, a beef roll, Sexy Girl roll and Spicy Girl roll — all were incredible. What was nice is that I was able to bring a friend of mine who does not eat fish and she was able to eat as well! There is literally something for everyone! I will go back again, and again(I already have)!

This is my current favorite Sushi place in the STL area. The staff was friendly(served us water while we waited, were very cordial). I had the wontons, Spicy Girl Roll and Fried Philly roll. Everything was very fresh and the prices were great compared to other local places I’ve been. We’ll definitely be coming back here.

I wanted to like it. I just didn’t. It’s cute — service was ok — my husband liked his sushi. The veggie spring rolls were pretty good. I ordered tempura udon, and selected veggie tempura(other choice: shrimp). It was described as udon noodles in a soy broth. Vegetarian, right? WRONG. It came with something floating in it that looked like a japanese vegetable. I put it in my mouth. It was fish cake. It looked nothing like fish. Nothing in the description said fish. Shame on me for not asking, but why didn’t it say fish? They fixed it for me, but I didn’t not enjoy what they brought back and ended up not eating it, and I felt ill all night. I haven’t eaten meat in 30 years. I won’t be back.

Maybe because I’ve lived in Japan, I know what flavors to look for. The best item I had was the calamari rings. The flavors were almost on point but not all the way. I’d give this place another chance mainly because the atmosphere is similar to a Nippon shop and our waiter was fab!

We had tickets to a play at The Rep and were looking for a place for dinner nearby when we found Sushi Station. Friends had enjoyed it so we decided to go for it. We were seated immediately in a pretty busy dining room. Our server got us water, hot tea and sake pretty promptly. After reviewing the menu awhile we opted for 2 eel nigiri to share, a Caterpillar roll and Veggie roll for me, a salmon roll and tuna roll for him. There was a little snafu with putting our order in so we had a longer than expected wait. Luckily we weren’t starving and had plenty of time before the show so no harm done. We had a newer server and there was a send button that didn’t get pressed to finalize our order. They were super apologetic about the wait and offered gyoza to us but we’re both dieting so that wasn’t something we were interested in. Even though we said we were fine they delivered a nice salad to the table with avocado and cucumber and a really tasty dressing. Our sushi came soon after. I’m glad I’m dieting or I would never have ordered what I did. The veggie roll was packed with different veggies familiar and not so familiar. The flavor was crisp and fresh. The caterpillar roll was also flavorful and did not disappoint. The eel nigiri(which I would’ve ordered diet or no diet) was spot on. My guy enjoyed his rolls too. We appreciated the fresh flavors and the quality presentation, as well as the determination to make our experience better when a little snafu occurred. We definitely will be back when we are in the neighborhood!

I met up with some friends here, after hearing some good reviews on the place, but I was highly disappointed. I guess my love for sushi has increased my expectations! We sat at the bar so we could watch the chefs who were making the rolls, it’s always nice to see it all being made right in front of you. I asked one of the sushi chefs a few questions, he was very nice but told me he only speaks Spanish and didn’t understand. So my friends and I went back to looking over the menu and reviews to make the best choices we could. We heard the sweet potato roll and Goba roll were great. The sweet potato roll ended up being my favorite roll, which is surprising that a roll without fish in it would be my favorite… not a good sign. The Goba roll, tasted like a Philly cheesesteak that was cold inside of the roll, I would not recommend this, I choked it down. We also had the caterpillar roll, which was your typical roll, not very unique. Then we had the old Webster roll… not the greatest of choices either. I love and I mean love sushi. It’s probably one of my staple food groups, but I do not think I will be trying this place again. There is free parking behind, which was a plus and the servers and chefs were kind, but if you have a palate for fantastic sushi like I do, then this place isn’t for you.

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday during the holidays and there were only 2 other tables seated. We found parking right in front. I imagine finding a parking spot during the week or during lunch time would be much more difficult. So, be prepared to walk. Sushi is worth it though. We sat at the bar and ordered 4 rolls. I love watching the sushi chefs make prepare the rolls right in front of us. The sushi was great, the ingredients all looked/tasted fresh, and the service was speedy. While we were eating, the chef started slicing up several salmon filets. That fish looked good! I almost ordered a 2nd round of food… I will definitely make this my new sushi destination instead of driving to Clayton where all the other sushi restaurants seem to be located.

First of all, Pui, the general manager is one of the nicest people you will meet. She is a member of the local community website and works hard to make personal connections with virtually everyone who loves her restaurant. That is a BIGDEAL for Webster Groves peeps, especially me — this shows me that they really care about their food, and the people who eat it. I definitely look forward to trying everyone new super-local restaurant and make certain that my husband and I have time to really review the menu, try appetizers, and get drinks. I have to admit, I do not eat ANY sushi with uncooked fish of any kind in it. I eat only the tempura battered sushi rolls — no nigiri, no sashimi, etc. Now, my husband is a different story, he ordered a huge board and tried a significant variety of things to try. Rolls, nigiri, sashimi, etc. He is incredibly picky when it comes to comparing one restaurant’s quality, taste, to another. He was very pleased with Sushi Station’s variety and the rolls. The fried California roll, and the Spicy Shrimp Tempura, and the Spicy Girl are my favorites. The Spicy mayo is one of my favorites. I’ve had some at other sushi places that were so watery and not spicy at all. We ordered the spicy edamame, very good — we have been experimenting with our own similar version of this at home we enjoyed it so much. The wings were a touch bland by themselves, but tasted really good with the spicy sweet dipping sauce they send along with it. Calamari rings fared well with our table. The prices on the sake are some of the better prices I’ve seen, a bottle for $ 15 of the good stuff — not an off-brand. I have found that all of the rolls were extremely well-made, very filling, and seemingly incredibly fresh(coming from someone who has gotten food poisoning from bad«to-go» sushi at another place — I am acutely aware of anything less than fresh). We have been there twice in the last month, and we even went on Christmas Eve with our parents — perhaps, this will start being our family tradition each Christmas Eve! Best of luck to this new little business — try them, its worth it!

Went there for lunch and had an awesome experience.. Sat at the bar to watch RJ work his magic and prepare our rolls. Had the Spicy Girl and the Holy Crab, both were magnificent.. Highly recommended to anyone who is a sushi fan.

I really, really wanted to love the place. Anything over 4 stars at a St. Louis sushi place has almost always resulted in disappointment, though. The sushi, unfortunately was pretty mediocre, although it came out quickly and the service was good. I think it might just be our proximity to ocean(or lack thereof), but I will have to continue the search for truly good St. Louis sushi another day, at another restaurant. Sushi station is a convenient sushi place, not a great one.

I ordered delivery at 9:35pm. I got several rolls and appetizers. The crab Rangoon filling is superior to other restaurants, but the wrap was tough and not crispy. The fried California roll was AWESOME! The Calamari appetizer was great, the sauce IS spicy. I’ll definitely start ordering delivery from the Sushi Station.

Yes!!! Finally a trendy sushi location in good Old Webster, and great service! I missed their Grand Opening, if they ever had one??? But wanted to mention they use quality ingredients, which makes their food rather fresh tasting. It’s Thai, Asian fusion, with nice selection of rolls and specials. Go, if your in the area for some sushi, in an unpretentious setting. Would be a great place to go study, if they had wifi… Nice change from the Dr. Jazz and Fizzles of restaurants before… #AsianLadyLikes

I was very pleased to find free covered garage parking behind the place, very convenient for when it gets nasty. The restaurant itself was clean, simple, and open. Takoyaki was hot, fresh and tasty. A little on the soft side as I prefer mine a little firmer but no big deal. Cha-Han was pretty tasty and dirt cheap. Great for people who have large appetites and small budgets. Tuna roll and yellowtail roll were both above average. I think the fish was relatively fresh. Would have preferred a little more vinegar on the rice as it was a little bland. Eel and avocado roll was well balanced in terms of ratio of eel to avocado to rice to sauce. Easily best thing I ate here. Would return? Yes I would call this place a class 2 sushi place and most sushi places in Stl are. Quality comparable to wasabi and the like. Class 1 being blue ocean and class 3 being nobu. Food is 8⁄10 all around in my opinion. I thought this restaurant had some very interesting entrees on the menu that I will defiantly try next time. Additionally I liked the price point of the menu as it is a little cheaper than wasabi while service just as good if not better food.

Due to the high volume of wonderful reviews while being a recently opened sushi restaurant, I wanted to try this place right away. That opportunity came on Saturday after work. The place was already quite busy at 5pm. They had 3 or 4 open tables that can seat 4 people but we ended up sitting at the bar/sushi prep area. I have never done this before but I found it quite interesting watching the sushi chef prepare the rolls. I started with some squid salad. It was nice and flavorful. When the rolls finally came, I decided that the spicy tuna was my favorite. I originally thought I would love the spicy girl more but I think I am becoming more of a fan for simple flavors. The portion size here is quite generous. You will definitely not leave hungry. The wait staff are friendly and I’m pretty sure it was the owner going around greeting people, asking them about their meals, if they needed anything else, etc which was great! I will definitely come back.

I can’t wait to go back! The service was a bit slow, but I think that’s just one of the kinks of a new restaurant. I was 100% impressed with the sweet potato roll. I didn’t even know this roll existed, and it BLEWMYMIND. Also the Gobe(slow cooked beef) and Crazy Salmon rolls were so fantastic, I have literally been dreaming about them since I left the restaurant. Cons: it’s a little noisy and the space is small, so there will probably be a short wait.

Not that I make it a habit of ordering crab rangoon at a Japanese restaurant, but the crab rangoon here are large and oh-so-good! Some of the best crab rangoon in the local area for sure. Crab Rangoon 5⁄5(large in size, tastier than other crab rangoon) Sunrise Roll 2⁄5(had an odd flavor to it, maybe slightly bitter, not sure what it was) Yellowfin Tuna Nigiri = 4⁄5 Shrimp Nigiri = 4⁄5 Eel Nigiri = 4⁄5 See pictures. Bummer that they don’t have any lunch specials.

Nice waitress, good food, good ambiance. I liked the St Louis roll a lot. My wife thought the shrimp tempura roll was good(not great). Hers was small but also not expensive. We had edamame and crab rangoon to start — they were fine. I just wish that more restaurants would jazz up the edamame(for example, drizzled butter sauce that had a kick to it. I had that in Chicago and it was delicious). My daughter has the popcorn chicken and it was ok. Her three year old palette is pretty limited! My biggest complaint about Sushi Station was the sashimi. Fish tasted fresh but the sashimi pieces were cut too thin. Very happy to have a sushi option in town and we’ll definitely be back(prob without my daughter)!

Great new addition to Webster Groves! Attentive and very friendly service, modern vibe, and excellent sushi. Many traditional and specialty nigiri and roll options, and a solid wine and beer list. They’ve only been open a few days, so you can tell they are still putting the finishing touches in place, but that only means it’ll be even better on our next visit.
