You cant beat the convenience of a drive-up sushi place. Getting from Manchester into the parking lot is a little rough if there is a car sitting in the driveway trying to leave, but other than that, it is easy enough to see the building from the street and to get to the ordering window. To get the free California roll, you need to order $ 16 worth first– but that equates to ordering 2 rolls, so you can do it. Like another reviewer said, why order the«spicy» anything for fifty cents more than the regular version of the same thing when you can just add your own sriracha(or wasabi) to make it spicy? The skinny lemon wedges that are served with each roll are a wonderful touch– I personally like to squeeze the lemon over the rolls to add a touch of freshness.

Yawp, I’m all for this place. My office has been right down the street from this place for almost 3 years but I never tried this place until today. How unfortunate! I ordered the Spicy Rainbow Roll. Note that someone posted a picture of the menu back in 2012 and it was called the Spicy Tuna Rainbow Roll back then, but is the same thing. It was fantastic and fresh. If I were in a sushi restaurant and you put this roll in front of me, I would never think it came from a drive through sushi place. You could absolute trick me! It was barely spicy at all, but very tasty. Pro tip: pour your soy sauce into the lid of your to go container. Pro tip 2: If you’re a fan of soy ask for extra packets; it only comes with one otherwise. I’ve tried all the grocery store sushi at Dierbergs, Trader Joes, Scnhucks, Lucky’s, Whole Foods… you name it. This is noticeably better. That being said, I need to(and will) try other rolls on the menu to see if they stack up just as well as this one did. The nice woman behind the ordering window had my order out to me in less than 5 minutes. Great service! I definitely recommend giving them a shot.

Not bad for a sushi joint so far away from water. The california roll is, by definition, nothing special. But I was baited into meeting the $ 16 threshold to get a free one, thinking it would be special. It’s not. It’s not even good. The tsunami combo and the eel are both great. For those who shudder at the mere thought of consuming eel, I once felt the same. I grouped eel with other ethnic foods such as scorpion, caterpillar, and octopus. Give it a try though, this place does it quite well. The drive-thru may be tight for bigger cars, but it’s in the middle of a big parking lot so it’s easy to just walk up. Stopped by twice before I could order. Either Unilocal or Google incorrectly advertises the hours as open till 7, but they close at 6:30. Quick hack: you can avoid the 7 – 10 minute wait by ordering ahead of time at

I have been here a couple times for grab and go sushi. You pull up to the window, order and like 5 minutes later your order is complete. They give you a free california roll with the purchase of more than $ 16, which has always been the case for my wife and I. Is this the highest end sushi? No. Does it compare favorably to sushi restaurants in STL that are sit down and substantially more expensive? A resounding yes.

Solid. This place gives you your sushi fix for a number of real situations: (a) Solo sushi craving, must stuff face without judgment (b) Ain’t nobody cookin nothin in the kitchen day and dinner ain’t getting itself on the table Situation(a) struck me at prime lunch time on a weekday when I found myself running errands on my lunch break in Brentwood and this place hits the spot. You pull up to the little drive-through place that looks like one of those drive-thru coffee places, place your order at the window, have the chef close the window on you while you idly wait for about 8 minutes for him to make your sushi, pay up and be on your merry way. Sucks for you if you get there and there is already a car waiting as you’ll have to wait your turn to wait your own order’s 8 minutes. Lest your sushi craving happened to be a premeditated decision in which your brain were not being controlled by your growling stomach, you can also place your order online so it can be ready for pickup when you get there. Go here: All of the reviews are true — the sushi rolls are larger than average. I judge this by the level of difficulty of chewing a piece of sushi after stuffing the entire thing in my mouth. The size of these rolls enters«should probably take this in 2 bites» territory, and not because they’ll fall apart. These rolls are generously girthed and have a good fish-to-rice ratio. While the rolls are pretty average priced for Saint Louis, you are getting your good money’s worth as they will fill you up. Also true: if you spend more than $ 16 pre-tax(easy as most of the non-vegetarian rolls are $ 8 or $ 9), you get a complimentary California roll. So you get two $ 8 rolls and a free California roll — it’s enough to feed 2 average-hungry adults. Tip: Do not pay the extra $ 0.50 to make your roll spicy. E.g. there is a salmon avocado roll, and there is a spicy salmon avocado roll. The tiny, almost unnoticeable smear of sriracha does not make the extra 50 cents worth it — you’re better off just squirting your own sriracha on or in your soy sauce if your sushi actually makes it home.

Low moderate sushi. If you favor generous portions, lower price, and convenience, then this is for you. If you want quality sushi, then don’t bother. I chose this place because three other restaurants that I had looked up weren’t open on Monday or before 5pm. You get a lot of sushi for your money and you don’t need to get out of your car. However, the salmon and tuna are not fresh, and for this, I wouldn’t come back.

This is it! This maybe my sushi joint. Unfortunately the menu is limited and without all the fancy rolls you may get at other restaurants, and it’s not a sit down, it’s a drive thru. But hear me out. The price of the rolls — good especially for the quality you get. Nice sized rolls with rice that isn’t too cold or hard. Fish is well cut and melt in your mouth well portioned slices. I will definitely come back! A definitely hole-in-the-wall but one I am not afraid to frequent back to again. Also around the time I went they had a special going on that gave you a free California roll with a 16 $ sushi purchase, which can easily be achieved.

I wanted some sushi quick, so after reading reviews I figured I give this place a whirl. Pretty good considering it is a drive thru sushi joint. I got the spicy tuna roll and the spicy tuna avocado roll. The spicy tuna roll was small and has a seaweed wrap on it which I’m not really a fan of. The fish was fresh but neither roll was spicy. I would get the spicy tuna avocado roll again. $ 12 for both.

Not the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life, or even the best fast food sushi I’ve ever had(that honor belongs to Seasons of Japan, a chain in Georgia), BUT pretty good and at a very reasonable price. These rolls are thick! The diameter and width of the pieces are both above average, and you get about 9 pieces per roll you order. Not knowing what to expect, I picked up two rolls(which I can usually finish at most restaurants), but one was enough to fill me up here! I got the spicy rainbow roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and a(free) California roll. The spicy rainbow roll had tuna, salmon, and avocado on top and tuna in the center. The center tuna filling was very substantial… The piece was approximately the size of three of my thumb widths. I was shocked. Fish is the most expensive part of the sushi, and they certainly don’t skimp out here. They also made my order while I waited — something I very much appreciate! It only took about 8 minutes and having a freshly made roll really put my mind at ease. The prices are a little high($ 1-$ 2 or so above market value, in my opinion) for the fancier items, like the spicy rainbow, but the simpler items were priced right at market value(most items were around $ 6-$ 8). The only thing I didn’t enjoy as much as I thought I would was the Cali roll. I think it’s the brand of imitation crab they use… To me it tasted very creamy, almost cheesy(almost as if I’d ordered a roll with cream cheese in it), and unlike other imitation crab I have tried. This comes down personal taste/preference, but I just wanted to share my thoughts about it. Overall, a great experience! The man at the drive through was very nice and the food was genuinely good. I would go again, and highly recommend you try it!

Amazing little sushi stand. They are so nice, very fast and I love that I can order ahead and pick it up 10 minutes later. You get a free California Roll when you spend $ 16 or more so you essentially get three or four fresh maki rolls for around $ 20. I used to go to Schnucks or Whole Foods when I wanted a quick sushi fix but the cold rice and and prices always left me swearing off another roll unless it came served to me at a sushi restaurant. To Go Sushi had changed all that. It’s not sushi house quality ingredients, but for what it is you can’t get better in this area. Thanks and keep up the amazing service and quality!

Drive-thru sushi — no way right! This place looks a bit suspect since it looks like it used to be a photo shop but give it a shot you won’t be let down. This is my go to place for sushi when I’m too lazy to make myself or go to a nice restaurant. The fish is nice and tender and a good combination of choices like the rainbow roll.(excellent) Skip the grocery store sushi and support this gem!

I’ve been here a few times now and they are always fast and friendly. Came by the other night 6 minutes before close, but they where still friendly. If you haven’t had a chance to try sushi at a drive up window I would highly recommend it, but watch out for the curbs my husband scratched my rim trying to leave.

Not bad. A little pricey for the amount of rice and sometimes hit or miss on flavorful fish but it’s typically pretty decent stuff. The free cali roll w/$ 16 purchase is a nice touch since its the only thing my kid will usually eat. It’s never taken longer than 7 minutes to complete my order. The owners are super nice and its only 2 blocks away from my house.

I love this place!!! And they’re open on Sundays. The owner is also super sweet. But, I am a vegetarian and just get the vegetable rolls, so I’m not too sure how the actual sushi rolls are. It’s a great snack, and is definitely on the cheaper side of the sushi realm. I like it a lot, but definitely not a «to-go» spot

For what it is, it’s good. Much better than grocery store sushi, for about the same price. They seem to only have Tuna, Salmon, Eel, Shrimp and Krab(note the spelling if you prefer real Crab). Fish tasted fresh and the wasabi was good quality. The rice had good flavor, but was a bit on the mushy side. they throw in a free California roll, which I typically don’t care for, but I won’t turn down if it’s free. I could eat it(and, many times I can’t). It’s not going to be my go to place, but on a Monday night, when my favorite places are closed, it can do the trick if I’ve got a craving.

i’m glad kampai was closed because i got to discover this hidden gem-located on manchester NOT analee dr like googlemaps will make you believe. i was intrigued by this drive through sushi concept. the tsunami combo was great. we also enjoyed a spicy tuna roll, sashimi and our free california roll. bottom line– it’s good for what it is: fast on the go, cheap sushi.

My suggestion, if you want this grade of sushi for a good price, is go to Dierbergs and purchase it from there. Anyone who has had even decent sushi should stay away from To Go Sushi as you tastebuds will be unsatisfied. I ordered the dragon roll(which is not served with eel here, but is not marketed as a strictly veggie roll), the spicy tuna and avocado roll(has NO spice to it at all) and received a free California roll. You will sit in your car for 10min, awaiting a tasty treat, just to be disappointed.

I pre-order carry out sushi regularly so having a drive thru sushi available is even better. If it was located closer to home, I would be a regular. I ordered the eel roll, and Philadelphia roll and received an order of California roll for free. All reasonably priced, fresh and good sized. Approximately 9 rolls per order. The only drawback I found is the language barrier. If you want to substitute anything in your order, communicating that to the sushi Chef/Owner can be a challenge. I’m not a fan of smoked salmon in my sushi, so I tried to ask for fresh salmon in my Philadelphia roll and I wrote it on the sheet, as well. It was very difficult for him to understand what I wanted. Otherwise, I’m a fan!
