Beautiful restaurant! Can’t be beat for enjoying a cocktail while viewing the lake.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant! The location is great! Near the lake, however, the food there is terrible! The BBQ chicken is over cooked! 1⁄3 of the meal’s chicken skins are all black ! I don’t think it is designed to be this and it’s eatable! When we told waiter about this situation, she just said«what’s the problem? If you like, I can ask the chef to cook more for you! «(we have nothing to say…) Also, you can enjoy having dinner with flys around your table! The waiters are not very good! When we told waiter that there are many flys around our table and on our food, the waiter did nothing, and just said ok, sorry, then leave. If there is zero star rating, I would choose to give zero!

Over-priced, bad food, rude hosts & staff. Basically a never will go there again after giving it 3 chances. Feels like they have trained the hosts at the door to be rude!!!

My mom and sister came for the incredible mimosas and ordered the flat bread for a snack. The caprese is absolutely dripping with delicious. One of the best flat breads I have had. It really hit the spot. The theme inside is modern but also goes with the lake and is somehow still homey. He view of the lake is beautiful, and had it not been raining, we would have loved to sit lakeside. This place replaced Sunsets, which was a favorite, but this place will be a favorite, too. Shout out to John, who was knowledgable and friendly. Great experience!

Wow, so much 1 – 3 star hating on this place! I am surprised because I liked it a lot! My review is of happy hour only. I went in on a Thursday evening. Make sure you specify with the hostess that you are there for happy hour, because you will be seated closer to the bar where happy hour specials are served. I LOVE the ambiance here! It is a beautiful lake side retreat. When the train goes by they ring a bell at the bar so it turns into a fun event rather than a nuisance. I think the train adds to the experience :) the happy hour specials are decently priced at $ 5 – 9 for appetizers and $ 5 for draughts. Big selection of local IPAs. The smoked salmon appetizer was delicious, the cream cheese on the plate is worth five stars in itself. I’m not sure what flavors they mix in, but it is fantastic. The dish is of the make-your-own variety and involves a lot of self assembly. I wouldn’t mind this, but the crostini is so small and you only get four pieces to pile everything on! The dish either needs larger pieces or more pieces. The fish taco appetizer came highly recommended by the wait staff. It was okay. The filling was good but the tortilla was a bit stale. I’d love to come back to try other happy hour specials for a nice afternoon on the lake!

I have been to COV a couple time and have only ordered salads for lunch and they have been nice. We love the BLVD, so we keep coming back and hoping it’s going to be good but it never is. Last night I went with a group on a birthday and ordered the halibut and was really really disappointed with it. Not only was it not very tasty but the potatoes were cold(I asked for sweet potatoes instead of the potatoes that came with it). I didn’t even finish my piece of fish and it wasn’t cheap! Our service was great however — our waiter was fabulous. COV has a great ambience and I’ll come back there for a drink but Next time it’s a salad again… Their menu just misses and the BLVD just hits it every time so I don’t know why but it just seems so off.

What happened to this once wonderful restaurant?! Went last night. if it didn’t have the ambiance going for it, I’d be surprised if it stayed open. I ordered the chop salad. When it came it was so hot with some sort of an odd spice that I couldn’t even eat it. The waitress said it was the dressing. Who puts spicy dressing on a chop salad? The waitress took it back and brought another one this time the dressing was on the side and the dressing that she brought was ranch? OK, again, ranch on a chop salad? They need to take a few lessons from wildfire restaurant in Eden Prairie who in my opinion, make the best chop salad ever. The other couple we were with ordered the lobster mac and cheese. It was horrible. I tasted it. Not only was it cold but there were only about three pieces of lobster in it and they were very small. 28.00 for this dish was a joke. Another couple split the flatbread. Also cold, and was very bland with no taste. $ 167 later we all decided we will never go back. A restaurant in this high-end area of downtown Wayzata should serve warm delicious food. When we went here twice before several months ago the food was great. Not sure what happened since then. Obviously a new chef and a different menu. My advice is to go a couple blocks down to 6Smith. Same atmosphere, same beautiful lake views and the food is 100 times better and worth every penny.

I recently went to Cov for lunch. The restaurant is incredibly cute, has great décor, and a fun ambiance. The food was fine overall, but we were not impressed with it considering the price. I expected the price point to be higher in Wayzata, but even factoring in this, I was less than impressed. I would recommend their cucumber cocktail though.

LOVE this bar ~ very classy and upscale and can be pretentious if not dressed appropriately. Bartenders are well known and locals seem to know them all. I sit at the bar usually so I don’t have a dining experience. However, great place for end of the night dessert or cocktail! Will visit more often some summer time…

Very lively atmosphere and great drinks and YUMMY desserts for sure. We definitely need to go back for dinner in the near future to check that out… Overall the set up is solid and I am sure in the summertime the outdoor patio is cool as well…

My mother and I went for brunch. The atmosphere was pretty nice. Waiters were wearing jeans and shirts and the style was like Ralph Lauren-ish, and everyone was nice looking. We had egg benedict and fish tacos. The egg benedict was great.

Ate here last night while visiting from friends. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. My party and I ordered the broccoli and the calamari. I really loved the broccoli, very unique from anything I’ve had before. The calamari was okay. It was a little soft for my taste, but it was still good. For dinner, I ordered the brick chicken. It was excellent. The chicken was very tender and seasoned well. The potatoes were to die for and the asparagus was perfectly cooked… I almost licked my plate clean. My waiter, Brent(?) was very attentive and nice. Definitely worth checking this place out if you haven’t already.

Great atmosphere and great service. We enjoyed their scallop and ribeye sliders as an appetizer. We also liked the main courses we had(a lamb pasta dish and a wild mushroom risotto). Desert was just ok — it was a three layer chocolate cake. Bloody Mary was excellent. Would recommend to a friend.

Went to Cov for brunch today. Overall, the atmosphere is great. There was a great deal of thought in the design and layout of the restaurant. It’s very beautiful inside and the walls are actually French doors that slide open for the summer. Very nice. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the French toast. The breakfast sandwich was missing something as it was plain tasting. We were told it was their best seller — very surprised. The French toast was decent but chewy. The best part of breakfast was the ham slices that were grilled. We will come back, but probably for the basic American menu(I.E. Burgers) as the breakfast was just okay.

This review is for 12÷23÷15: not sure if this place is over-rated/over-priced for its worth, or they just had a bad night with our particular table! PROS overall: — Exceptional service — Great location — Great décor and ambience CONS for us: 1. Tuna tartare appetizer was good but came with 3 pita chips when it needed 6. I never understand why restaurants do this! Cost saving on something cheap & purchased in bulk?! 2. Fries that came with the $ 24 Walleye Fish & Chips were AWFUL — soggy and weird tasting, like cooked in old oil. Got a replacement batch which were fresh and tasty but HALF the amount originally served on the plate! Granted we all should be eating smaller portions of high-fat food, but come on — for $ 24 cough up some fries! 2. $ 33 Cioppino that my friend — who BTW is a professional chef — ordered had to be sent back because the seafood in it was overcooked! At least he got a free glass of wine for this debacle. 3. side dish of asparagus was woody, as I suspected it might be as we’re out-of-season for asparagus. How about not offering out-of-season vegetables on your menu, if you can’t procure something resembling in-season?! Overall not a horrible experience, but for a total bill of $ 283 — not including tip! — I expect better quality. It should also be noted that this wasn’t a Monday night or end-of-evening experience, but rather prime dining time. Also have to highlight the service which I mentioned under«Pros». Our server was very good and after having to get replacement items for 2 of the 3 entrées our table ordered, a manager came over to greet us and apologize. Will probably give it a second chance at some point, because for whatever reason(s) it’s one of my chef friend’s favorite places.

I came to this happening place several times during my visit to the twin cities, so I feel qualified to review it. Customer service was excellent the first two times, but lacking the third. The food was good, however it was comical how small the salad was and then how huge the dessert was. Did their delivery of lettuce fall short this week, replaced by key limes? This place is fun and I’m sure I’ll be seeing it next visit.

During my last trip to MN I went to Cov back to back nights… stop judging me. The atmosphere is spot on and had a laid back vibe. You can sit inside or outside. When sitting inside it is great because they have a screen allowing the breeze to come in but not the bugs. To food is good. Both times we started with the lobster guacamole. I would say it’s good but not great. I’d spend my money on the smoked salmon appetizer. The crab cakes are also quite delicious. The first night I got the sword fish meal. It wasn’t too«fishy» but you for sure knew it was fish. The mango salsa was a good add to the dish. The 2nd night I got he ribeye. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had(this isn’t a steak house) but it was good and better tha I expected. For desert get the key lime pie(not too bitter) and the Carmel salted gelato. You won’t regret it.

CoV is the hip new place in Wayzata to go. The ambiance is definitely 5 stars. The restaurant has an open air(in the summer) east coast look and feel. You are looking right over Lake Minnetonka… It’s top notch. The service is attentive. The food is good not great. I had a birthday dinner there they were featuring Rombauer Chardonnay(one of my personal favs) at $ 17.00 a glass. It’s good but that’s spendy especially when you can get that pour for $ 11 or $ 12 elsewhere close by. The Joel Gott is $ 10 a glass. When my second glass arrived it looked like someone had already been drinking it. The server was happy to bring it back for a full pour. The chicken wings, caprese salad, and calamari were all good. I ordered the prime rib cool medium rare. When it arrived it was grey… Um gross! They again brought me another and it was still closer to medium, so buyer beware. It was ok, it was not prepared the way I like it, and not acceptable for the price. The desserts were great, so a thumbs up there. Overall, I just could not bring myself to give them a 4. I have been several times for lunch and find that much better. You can valet park your boat or car.

I have been wanting to try out this new restaurant right off Minnetonka lake for a while now. I got there on a Friday night around 7pm and had to wait over an hour. The place was completely crazy and they had, what looked like a 16-year old boy greeting people at the front,(who seemed completely frazzled and overwhelmed). Thankfully downtown Wayzata had other stores and a Starbucks to shop around at till we got sat. We ended up sitting outside which was a little steamy but the breeze of the lake helped along with the live band playing. We started off with the lobster guacamole which was super fresh and delicious, definately a favorite of the night. Then moved on to the avocado goat cheese bruschetta which was absolutely divine, the pesto paired with the goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette was smart and completely worked. The Hawaiian swordfish was fruity and flavorful — a great, light summer dish. The corn on the cob was way over-seasoned, almost hard to finish. For me, growing up with sweet corn that is in-season, should need only a dash of salt and some light buttering — nothing more. The truffle fries were just so-so, maybe because by the time we got to them, we were completely stuffed. For drinks we ordered Moscow mules and a bottle of the Terra D’Oro, California rosé, which was refreshing,(not too dry, not too sweet). After a couple hours the mosquitoes started to eat us alive which made us want to rush to get out of there, along with the train horn that was right next to the patio seating, which almost made me jump out of my seat a couple times. Our server was delightful and professional, with how busy it was — she didn’t make us feel this at all. Overall a pretty great experience.

Really nice ambiance. Beautiful renovation of the former Sunsets. Food choices are fairly limited. Prices are very high. Creativity of recipes is moderate to low moderate. Taste is good, nothing extraordinary. This restaurant has a good vibe. Servers are friendly but nothing particularly special. If you’re looking for a fun atmosphere and you’re not downtown and don’t mind paying a lot for that experience, it will be s good choice. We ordered a Cesar salad, an Asian shrimp salad, a side of Brussel sprouts, a calamari appetizer, a beer and a glass of red wine. Everything was fine; nothing was memorable.

My past includes living in Excelsior, MN on Lake Minnetonka. We’d frequent Sunsets for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Cov came on the scene recently and has actually enhanced the lake experience. A total re-decoration has resulted in a BEAUTIFUL new restaurant. Brunch on Sunday, was SENSATIONAL, including a comped GIANT cinnamon roll. A Bloody Mary and their Eggs Benedict were delicious. The lake ambiance added to the enjoyment. When in the Twin Cities, catch Cov, you’ll love it.

My dad has been raving about this place for months so when I was in town visiting of course this is where we went for brunch. Walking in I was immediately struck by the atmosphere — it was nice and light, very contemporary and clean yet still cozy and comfortable. We got a nice table near the windows facing the lake. I ordered the Cov breakfast, which was eggs, bacon, toast and cheesy hashbrowns. The portions were large and everything was very tasty. The real standout was the hasbrowns. They are kind of like scalloped potato hashbowns — very rich and creamy and very filling. I couldn’t finish all the food so just know you will not leave hungry. Our server was very nice as well. She made us feel welcomed and paid attention without being overbearing. Our water glasses were always full and dirty plates cleared quickly, which I always like. I know my dad will be back and next time I’m in town I’d love to go to Cov again.

I love the outdoor seating area over looking the lake and the indoor décor is beautiful. Some of my favorite food items are the ceviche, flatbreads, and salads. Their happy hour has a great salmon and cream cheese appetizer and oysters. Check out my pics! The $ 5 wine by the glasses are popular too. Happy hour goes until 6:00 and we had to wait about 15 – 20 minutes at 4:45 for a table in the happy hour section since it’s so popular. This is one of my favorite places now! Amazing views, great food and service! This is a great addition to the downtown wayzata area.

I went to Cov last Saturday with some friends to check out the replacement of Sunsets. We arrived around 7 and the place was packed, as to be expected. We put our name in and waited at the bar. The bar was also packed but they had 7 bartenders working so we never had to wait for a drink. Drink prices were reasonable for that type of restaurant. The bartenders were very friendly. The owner of the restaurant even bought a shot for all the bartenders as a thank you. It’s always nice to have an owner who seems to really care about his place and employees. We had to wait about an hour for a table for 6 but again, a long wait was expected given we needed a table for 6 on a Saturday night right after it opened without a reservation. The restaurant was very well staffed. There must have been at least 30 staff members visible. Long waits certainly weren’t an issue for food and drinks. I ordered the Brick Chicken and it was very good. I’m not a huge food critic but I liked it and the other members of my party liked their food too. I also overheard several other patrons raving about the food. Prices were about what you would expect for place in downtown Wayzata. I honestly thought prices might have been a little higher. I really can’t say anything bad about the place. Great food, great staff, and great views of the lake. A perfect place for a nice date, especially on a warm summer night.
