Holiday Inn Express & Suites Waynesboro-Route 340

Little high in price for what it is. Breakfast area is tiny, the eggs where shit, the room had a bunch of damage that it looked like the hotel just skimped on fixing, parking is atrocious. This is what I get for not going to the Hampton…

The room was very large and clean. The king size bed was comfortable. The shower was a little unusual, but great water pressure. the breakfast was nice, even had eggs and pancakes. I also really enjoyed the ²⁴⁄₇ coffee!

We needed a place to lay our heads and this hotel was close by.
Pluses: The front desk staff was wonderful and the room was very clean. Breakfast was good. The staff was efficient.
Minuses: The elevator wasn’t working when we started to our room. We were only one floor up so it wasn’t a big deal. The staff apologized and even offered to carry our luggage up the stairs for us (we declined since there were others needing more assistance).

Waynesboro, Virginia – Road Trip #4
I’m a big fan of Holiday Inn Express (HIE) and the one in Waynesboro is no expection. I reserved a room online and my check-​in was quick. The woman at the counter was friendly, polite, and efficient.
My room was large (king-​sized bed) with a sofa – almost too big for one person. It had a small refrigerator and a microwave. The bed was a bit too hard for my liking, but the pillows were great!
Two things I didn’t like:
1) I didn’t like the shower head – it felt like I was being pelted by sharp needles. I ended up turning the shower down a bit to make it more gently.
2) I asked for a non-​smoking room, but I could smell smoke in the hallway. They really should separate smoking rooms to a different area.
I did try the complimentary breakfast the next morning. It was pretty typical: cereal, muffins, eggs, bagels, etc. The best part was their Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. I’m not a fan of biscuits and gravy, but these were quite tasty. Their coffee was good, too.
My room was under $ 100 – good value especially with breakfast included. There is a Starbucks across the street and mountains behind you. You can’t beat that! I would definitely stay here again.

We stay here every time we visit Sherando Lake. Very clean and friendly staff. I am very picky when it comes to choosing hotels and this hotel really is the real deal. I accidentally booked a smoking room online and did not realize until I received the confirmation email. I called the hotel and the lovely lady at the front desk made the switch to non smoking for me, no questions or hesitations and very professional.
Everything from the towels, breakfast, pool, bed comfort, location to highway and the town, etc is worth it. So if you’re looking for a really nice place to stay when visiting the mountains this place is definitely it.

This was the absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Children and teens are allowed to roam around the hotel unaccompanied. Teens gatherer at the elevator lobby, laid on the floors, all over the sofas and partied. The management did absolutely nothing to curtail this bad behavior. Adults gathered outside the windows to smoke and chat keeping me awake. Children/​teens were allowed to take over the pool and hot tub and parents were not there to supervise. This hotel had some pretty bad beds. I was put into a smoking room despite my plea as I have asthma. I was moved the next day. There is NO security at this hotel. IT’s a do as you want venue.

Absolutely loved the hotel. All the staff is very attentive and very willing to help, they go the extra mile to make you feel at home. I will definitely stay here again. The breakfast is really good and the rooms are very clean.

Solid travel accommodations. Pool and sauna for those who plan for it. Excellent staff. Very good free morning coffee. No plaza hotel. Very clean and unusually friendly staff.

The hotel is old and sometimes the room smells mold. It was clean after all. I did not like bath tub.
If we talk about customer service, Brenda was so helpful. she was amazing. But there was one with glasses on, she was a little bit sour faced. and made me afraid to ask something :) but thanks to Brenda for great service

My wife and I stayed overnight here at the beginning of the Labor day weekend, 2012.
We checked in late in the evening, yet the gentleman that checked us in, Melvin, was alert, helpful and understanding. We were zombies from the long road trip and were only able to drool and babble on about «braaiins», yet Melvin guided us through the process and sent us on our way in mere minutes.
The room was spotless, large and almost as cool as Melvin’s bowtie — the A/​C had been thoughtfully turned on for us in advance.
We enjoyed a restful night, a quick breakfast and an even quicker check out.
Over the weekend we stayed at 3 Holiday Inn Expresses. This one was in a class of its own compared to the other two, which will not be receiving rave reviews.
We’ll definitely be back to this one and we’ll definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

I had a very unfortunate experience with this Holiday Inn Express. So severe an issue with their customer service that I will not stay at a property owned by this company again. The staff denied a room to two college women during the terrible east coast wind storm in June. The roads were impassable and the girls could not get home. Though they had a credit card to pay for their stay the hotel sent them back out into the storm because they were not yet 21.
There were multiple fatality from this weather event yet this Holiday Inn refused to amend there rule with a bit of common sense. Another stranded traveller even asked if she could check the young women in, fearing for their safety. The front desk would not allow this. They girls were turned out into the storm.
Very poor decision making. There are plenty of hotels in Waynesboro for travelers to enjoy. The Residence Inn welcomed the stranded girls and kept them safe. If you are hoping for reasonable customer service, this Holiday Inn is not the place you’ll find it.

Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn! That’s what I always think when I hear the words Holiday Inn.
The chain must have recently done a renovation, and it shows! While the parking at this particular location is a little tricky (tight coming in and slightly hilly lot), everything else is pretty great.
They have a 24 hour pool/​hot tub/​sauna. 24 hours! The staff was awesome, and the room we were in had a jacuzzi tub right off the bedroom. Pretty sweet. I’d definitely stay here again.
The breakfast bar had a pancake machine which was pretty ridiculous. You push a button and after a few minutes, a pancake comes rolling off the end. It’s a little confusing, but watch someone else do it first, and you’ll see what I mean. Everything else there was edible, but the bacon was like a bacon pattern printed on paper and soaked in bacon grease. Which isn’t that bad if you stack like 4 of them together and close your eyes. (–1 star for that though)
Everyone that worked there was polite and professional even though there were a few busloads of schoolkids that took over the hotel.

Great hotel. I have stayed here on and off for the past few months and the staff, from Victoria to Brenda have been great. They are polite and very attentive to the needs of there customers. Not sure about the other reviewers experience, but all of my coworkers that stay here have no complaints.

Very nice and new hotel. I stayed here for over a week while finding a house in Crozet, and it was quite enjoyable.
The chlorine in the pool was a bit overpowering, and I wasn’t overly impressed with the breakfast. Other than that a perfect stay.

I love this HIE! I travel for my job and visit many types of hotels. They have a ton of small extras. Small movie area that plays a movie nightly, flat screen TVs in all rooms, micro and fridge in all rooms, in the evening they have some kind of food of some sort– they had hotdogs and chili, breakfast is not normal even for a HIE– they have fresh fruit and eggs among many other items, finally they have snacks to bring with you for the day– apples, fruit cups, snack mix, bottled water. I am amazed this is a HIE! Oh they even upgraded me to the whirlpool sweet (I go there a lot!) and there was a rubber ducky gift for me– FUNNY! I love this place. Besides all of this… I love the people that work there– they are all caring and sweet! One thing I would change– I hate their hair dryers! Seriously, bring your own it is like someone is blowing on your hair!

Went there on our trip down the Skyline through to the Blueridge Parkway.
The Waynesboro Holiday Inn hotel should be the standard for all Holiday Inns.
The staff very professional and extremely kind. All the amenities and then some. Rooms very clean along with the bathrooms. Nice quite location. Breakfast had a vast veriety of hot and cold items.
I would love to stay there again and will be my choice for all my trips in and around the area.
