Monkey Bar garage cabinets are built to last. With a custom layout, a variety of finishes and heavy duty hardware we’ll design the garage of your dreams.

Monkey Bar shelving can hold 1,000 lbs every 4′ to store long term items (holiday decorations, seasonal equipment, boxes, totes, etc) up out of the way. The unique feature of the shelving is the ability to hang items in layers below the shelf on hooks and bars that are fully adjustable. We have 9 different hooks that can hang anything.

We have the strongest most durable ceiling racks on the market.

We also specialize in Epoxy garage flooring with custom color options and now offer Swisstrax garage tile floors too.

History

Established in 2010.

I started this business because of my own need for a storage solution in my garage. I tried other products but everything was either cheaply made or really expensive. After installing Monkey Bars in my own garage I knew this was the best solution out there. I started installing Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems part time for other people in need of organization. Then as the word spread and more people found out about this great product things have really picked up. Since then we have added epoxy flooring, custom cabinets and overhead storage to offer a complete line of storage solutions for your garage

We purchased a new home recently in Santa Cruz County. As a senior, I wasn’t looking forward to all that’s required to make a garage really workable for cars, wheelbarrows, bikes, and paddleboards. You start to think it can’t be done.
Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems came highly recommended. I called and asked for a consultation.
Ryan came out to our place and listened to what my wife and I were asking for. He took his time, a lot of measurements, and then composed some drawings. He gave us an estimate which included describing the different shelving and hanging systems he would be installing. Our take was that this was a competent professional and we decided to go with him.
Ryan and his colleague Paul showed up with their impressive portable shop. He went over what we were going to do and then he and Paul went to work. I was very impressed with the care they took, their use of some high tech tools, and their overall competence.
As they worked, Ryan and Paul fielded questions and worked flawlessly. In a matter of a few hours, I had a well organized garage with paddleboards on racks – and out of the way, bikes hanging in locking racks, and all of our miscellaneous «stuff» neatly shelved or hanging.
It’s a great feeling to have a garage you can look forward to walking into without thinking, «Maybe I should straighten this place out.» With Ryan’s design, everything is straightened out.
These guys are terrific and we love our garage now.

He really listened to what we wanted and was very helpful in suggesting ideas for organizing our things and getting them off the floor. I initially contacted 2 well known home improvement stores but was disappointed with their poor customer service so I did some research and found Ryan. I called him and we set up an appointment to take a look at my garage.
Several days later he came over, on time as promised, and we discussed the different options for my needs. I wanted to have a ceiling rack installed to store our stuff. Such as camping gear, folding chairs, life vests, several luggage, Christmas decorations, and a ladder.
One week later, Ryan and his father. I believe his name is Rick, installed my ceiling rack without any problems. While they were installing the rack, I had a few neighbors walk by and they were so impressed with the quality of the rack, they’re having racks installed too. One of them is having Ryan install cabinets and have his garage floor painted with a protective coat.
I would definitely recommend Ryan of Monkey Bars for your garage storage and flooring needs. Through out the entire process from the first phone call to completing the installation of the rack. Rick listened to what I wanted, he wasn’t trying to push his products. He was very professional, courteous, punctual, and is very customer oriented.

More than expected thanks to Ryan!
I just had a new garage built for my home and wanted to complete the project with a first rate storage system. I could have attempted to do this myself, but why not hire someone who specializes in garage storage instead?
I asked three different companies to come in and give me a bid for putting in cabinets and shelving. I knew from my first meeting that Ryan was the person I wanted to go with. He was easy going, professional, thorough, priced right, and flexible. Installation was done in a day and it looks great! The cabinets are top notch and fit the garage perfectly. The shelving is probably twice the space I had from my previous garage and it looks so much more organized. The hanging system can be moved around to whatever you need and easily moved again if your needs change. Love that!
Now we need to move all our stuff back in and probably buy more stuff to fill all the extra space we now have.

Ryan came out and helped me figure out what we could do to help out our tiny garage. On the day, we realized that there were studs missing behind the walls and had to make adjustments. He was great working with me and making sure that everything would still work. He also was able to add some last minute hooks for the broom and ironing board which have been so helpful. Definitely use them!

My expectations were exceed by Ryan and the Monkey Bars! The system is super-​functional and really makes our garage look so much better. The bars are incredibly sturdy, and Ryan and his dad did a great job with the installation – fast, clean, with no hitches. He didn’t try to oversell me on more bars (although I anticipate someday I will want more!), and just tried to find the best solution for what we needed. We live in SF and Ryan made the drive all the way up from the Santa Cruz area to do our project.
At first I thought I would not like having everything in our garage out in the open, so thought that probably cabinets were a better way to go. But now that we have these, I realize now nice it is to be able to see where everything is, and things like bikes, golf clubs, etc are much better stored this way than inside cabinets. I think Ryan can do cabinets too to supplement the bars though.
I wish every experience in life were as easy and hassle free as this! Thanks Ryan!

Ryan first contacted me after my initial online inquiry, and we scheduled a size evaluation that very weekend. He helped me figure out how to layout the garage that best utilizes the overhead area without compacting the horizontal space. It took about an hour to figure out the details. I actually had him stop a second time a week later to to verify the plan, and he was nice enough to drive an hour to get here to help out.
He stopped by the following weekend in the morning with his help to setup the whole garage. It took approximately 5 hours from start to finish, including cleanup, and that was it. At this point I’ve had the monkey bars system installed for half a year with no problem. All my bins are stored neatly above head, bikes hung on the walls, and tools organized around the work desk. It’s been great to utilize all the space in the garage and not have random things lying around the house.

We have 3 little boys and were in need of additional play space for them and decided to transform our garage into a playroom. The first step of that process was to figure out how we could store all the stuff we had on the garage floor to make room. I did extensive online research and found Monkey Bars to be the best solution out there. Along with being the best overall solution I found, it was extremely reasonable on price.
Ryan Burgess was fantastic to work with from start to finish. He met with us in person to see our space and better understand our goals. He then designed a storage system to meet those goals. Ryan was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and delivered everything on time. I would highly recommend Monkey Bars and Ryan Burgess!
Ryan’s design allowed us to store all our clutter on wall shelving units which also allowed us to use all the space beneath the shelves for the kids toys, like bikes, sporting equipment, ski’s, etc.
Our kids absolutely love the space and play in their new playroom 7 days a week… thanks to Ryan!
