I have to agree with the other reviews — I purchased a 3-​hour cleaning from them and I was very disappointed. I recently purchased a townhome and wanted to have all of the bathrooms (3.5), appliances and kitchen cabinets cleaned so I could just move right in. Nothing else — just those 3 areas since the place was VACANT! The 2 cleaners came on time and were very friendly and courteous. However, they barely cleaned the bathrooms (it still had dirt in the shower and along the door) and the cabinets had sticky stuff on them still from the previous owner. They hadn’t wiped down any of them. When they asked me to inspect the work, I looked in the fridge and it was untouched. I asked them about it and they went back to do it only to just do a surface wipe-​down. They didn’t take any of the shelves out nor did they clean any of the bins. So essentially, I had to go back and clean EVERYTHING that they supposedly cleaned. It wasn’t worth the aggravation of making them do it again. Its unfortunate because I was actually looking for a cleaning company on a continuous basis and had they done a decent job, they could have had a client. I guess everybody loses in this one.

I purchased a three hour house-​cleaning from Surfaceworks through the Living Social site. It was very hard to reach them– they didn’t have voicemail available. They didn’t have much availability when I booked, either, which I attributed to the living social deal– probably they had lots of people calling in the same few weeks.
They were able to change the time of my cleaning the week of the cleaning, which I appreciated. They also sent two people, which I was surprised and pleased about, since the deal didn’t specify that. I live in a one-​bedroom and have previously had a regular cleaning service with only one person and after three hours, I would have a clean apartment. After three hours of cleaning and two cleaners, my apartment was still not clean. I wasn’t home, so I really don’t know how they spent the time. The knick-​knacks on my bookshelf were dusted around– they didn’t even dust between them, so there was visible dust. I have one houseplant and they didn’t pick up the dead leaves from the hardwood. The floors were mostly clean, and the bacthroom was done well, but overall, there was still lots of dust around, which was surprising after that much time and that many people cleaning a one-​bedroom.
I won’t be using them again. Perhaps they do a better job if you aren’t using a special deal, but I will not try it again to find out.

These folks are wonderful. Although I live 3,000 miles from MA, I wanted to give some friends (who are going through a very, very hard time) the gift of some house cleanings. I called SurfaceWorks and set everything up with Gabriela in a few minutes. It all was very simple. When the day of the cleaning came, they contacted me to let me know that they were worried that they wouldn’t be able to do a «good enough» job in the time we had allotted when they got to the house and found what greeted them. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the message for a few hours. When I called back, Gabriela told me that she personally went to the location to strategize with the cleaners the best way to to use their time to get the best possible result within the time I had paid for. My friend, although embarrassed, was thrilled, and I’m really grateful to Gabriela and her crew for doing such a thorough, thoughtful job. My highest possible recommendation.
