ABC Towing

***PLEASE READ– OPEN WARRANTS*** If I could give negative stars I would. After the tow truck driver came 45 minutes late he hooked my car up on the flat bed. He then made an illegal right turn and got pulled over while I was in the truck. The Arlington Police Officer notified him that he had an open WARRANT for assault on the Police Officer then lied to the Officer about his SSN to not be arrested. He admitted this to me after. His licenses was also SUSPENDED since he did not pay a fine for another arrest. The Officer felt bad for me for going through this and let the driver bring my car to the shop a mile down the road.
When we got to the shop, which is exactly 1.2 miles down the road, the driver tells me the charge is $ 150!!! For 1.2 miles!!! I said that was absolutely absurd considering the mileage and what I just went through. He let me talk to his «boss» on the phone who started cussing at me and asking «are you going to fucking pay or what?» which I responded by telling him about the driver being pulled over with an open warrant and suspended license and he said «fine I’ll take $ 20 off the price». The driver and «boss» said they wouldn’t take my car off the truck until I paid. The driver then got enraged that I told his «boss» what happened when we were stopped and called me a «weak son» and started flipping out. I was actually concerned he was going to turn physical. After many attempts to calm him down he finally took my credit card and lowered my car down. Then I had to push it myself into the spot because he was still angry.
After I returned home my fiancé attempted to call and speak to the owner of the company but the «boss» would not let her and started cussing at her and using the «N word» then hung up on her.
I will be reporting all of this to the BBB. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Ok, so I realize that towing companies get a bad rap. But, every five or so years when you need a tow, you suck it up and deal with the not-​so-​great service. Well, ABC is not your run-​of-​the-​mill poor service. We’re talking about probably the worst customer service experience I’ve had in my life.
My car battery died while driving home from work right near the White House. I called USAA and they told me ABC towing would be there ASAP. I got the auto text saying they would be there in 100 minutes. While pretty dismayed, I realized it was raining and there were inevitably a ton of issues on the roads.
Since I knew that the car would have to be taken to my dealership, my very pregnant wife came to pick me up around when the tow truck was supposed to come. To save an even longer story, two disappeared drivers, five calls, several lies and excuses and three or four promises of ‘your tow is about 30 minutes away’ later, they literally did not show up! USAA was nice enough to call another tow for us after receiving a call from my exasperated, crying wife (this was about 5 hours after my first call). The other tow company came in about 20 minutes and the gentleman was very helpful.
Seems like there’s some good money to be made if you’re halfway competent at running a business in the towing industry… STAY AWAY from these guys.

Worse business ever! Ford Roadside Assistance set up my tow for 1 – 1:30. I received an ETA message for 2:15 PM. At 2:30 I called and the man that answered told me that they didn’t have any PO for my tow. I immediately called Ford Roadside Assistance and while I was on hold I could hear the agent and the dispatcher having heated discussion. Then I was told 3:30 and I called them when no one showed up and they had the audacity to tell me it would be another hour or more! AND they were rude! Actually blatant liars. FRA canceled the service and were able to get another tow service set up and they came at the set up time!

Writing reviews is something that is very few and far between for me. However I felt compelled to do so after receiving the most professional service from ABC. I’m also not a fan of this business but everyone has to make their money some way, there are always two sides to the story, some people will bash and slander because they are angry because they parked illegally or didn’t pay their parking tickets. Impound can be painful, however if you’re in trouble near the DC area, ABC towing will come to the rescue, their drivers are nice and courteous and understanding. My BMW broke down on 14^th street and they arrived within 10 minutes and got me back to my house in a timely matter. To make matters worse, my wheels wouldn’t turn. It took an extra 15 min to put some additional equipment on. Other companies I have used in the past made it highly uncomfortable to even call a towing company. I’m Glad ABC brought my trust back in a local towing service.

Can you give negative stars? Because that’s what these guys deserve. My roadside assistance dispatched ABC Towing to rescue me in DC. I called them to confirm and they said they would be arriving in one hour. Then the driver called to tell me it will be 20 minutes. Great! But after another 45 minutes no tow.
I phoned them back and suddenly they tell me they never got the call! The «PO didn’t go through» the guy said. «Call your insurance company.» So I called roadside assistance and was told that ABC said they never got the call! And yet they had my info and location! Basically, they screwed up. After waiting an hour and a half, I had to get a second dispatch so I’m still waiting another hour plus for the second dispatch. Thanks ABC guys: you stink!
Part 2: just got a call from owner to respond to my post. He proceeded to tell me that my insurance company didn’t pay him. Utter horse hockey. In fact, when RA called him to find out what happened they offered the PO again, but he didn’t take it. So he called me to «explain» how his business works. As if the most reputable insurance company in America, who serves this Nation’s Veterans, would not pay him. Really?!!
Here’s the real deal: today is the Nationals baseball home opener. He can make a lot more money today with his trucks by towing Nats fans who are illegally parked than towing me 35 miles. He simply didn’t want the job and lied about it– otherwise he’d take the job like a professional should do.
To echo other people who got stranded by ABC when dispatched by RA: Stay away from these guys.

If I could give this place zero stars I would!!!
After the upsetting experience of being in a car accident I had to have my car towed. ABC was called before 8 p.m. it took about 20 minutes to receive the ETA text, which was a whopping 90 minutes from the time of the text!!! I called to see if there was any possibility of the truck arriving earlier and the response was «You aren’t the only person who needs a tow.» Really?!
After the estimated time had passed I received an automated call that asked me to press 1 if my tow had arrived and 2 if it hadn’t. I pressed 2, and was immediately disconnected. I called ABC and the man on the phone, Mike, told me the truck would arrive in 10 – 15 minutes.
An HOUR later I called, after being outside in this cold weather for so long, and Mike told me where the truck was coming from… according to my GPS it was only a 19 minute drive. No idea what happened here.
FINALLY the driver arrives. He hops out and asks me where the car is going. I replied that I wasn’t sure since my insurance company had arranged the tow and destination. His response!!! «I dot have my tablet and I don’t appreciate your attitude!» I was appalled by this man’s rudness. I had been nothing but polite to him and he was behaving horribly toward me.
I tried calling ABC to get the destination address. The phone goes to the machine. I called back and Mike answers again. I heard him say «Mom, let me call you back». I guess that many people weren’t calling for tows after all. Ugh! He looked up my information and told me they no longer took cars out of DC… even though I had arranged the transportation to VA before 8pm.
As if this wasn’t the worst service EVER, the driver says «You got full coverage? We can tow to our shop in DC and your insurance will pay.» Again with the inappropriate behavior… I proceeded to try and plead with Mike, to no avail. The driver then says «Look, I’ve got things to do.»
I expressed my absolute disappointment of this whole ordeal to Mike, and told him not to bill my insurance. He agreed .we shall see what happens. The driver was quick to leave. As he pulled away he had no lights in the back of his truck at all. No brake lights nor tow lights… at almost 11 pm.
Stay away from this company!

Progressive insurance road side assistance arranged for this company to pick up my car from my garage.
I called the towing company at 7:43am to double check the request and got an ETA of 11:38am (4 hours is an outrageous wait time but I agreed).
I called at 11:51am to check on the missing truck only to get the clown on shift to pretend they had never received a request.
I confirmed the truck with the 7am bozo which is probably the side show bob of the 11am buffoon yet after five lost hours these incompetents only had their red noses and pair of small deflated balloons in their hands.

My husband, and I had our Chevy Trailblazer towed by this company due to the fact our truck broke down. We left our cd book in the back seat on the floor and they stole all of our CD’S which was worth over $ 3,000 dollars. We never had anything stolen from us before so this was such a big shock to us… I wouldn’t advise any one to use their service. How in the hell do you steal from your customers, the ones whom is keeping you in business. Very disappointed

Awesome service! My car broke down a couple days ago and I needed a tow, these guys were there in no time. If you ever need a tow I highly recommended ABC towing! Thumbs up to you guys!

I had to get my car towed to my dealership in Virginia. It was a stressful situation but they arrived within thirty minutes. If you have ever had experience with tow trucks, that is as fast as it gets. Driver was extremely nice and helpful. If I ever need help while I’m in the area, they’re the first company I’ll call.

Horrible experience! I had been in an accident at 8pm on a Wednesday and had my insurance company send me a tow so I could at least go home. They sent me an eta of around 9pm, which the mark hit. At around 10 I called the number and they said it would be about another 20 minutes because they were dropping off another car. An hour goes by and I give them another call. Then it goes to voicemail. I get a text immediately that says it will be another 15 minutes. It’s been another hour now, I’m still waiting for a tow truck, for someone to answer their phone and for someone to strip these S.O.B’s from their business license. Who the hell runs their business likes this?! Great reviews by the way, I wish I had seen these reviews 2 hours ago. 0 stars if I could rate any lower!

I’ve used this tow company numerous times! Personally and for my businesses. Every time we contacted them for help, they’ve been courteous, prompt and professional. I definitely recommend this tow truck company! Satisfied customer!

To make a long story short GM ordered a tow truck that broke down on the way to us. Then they assigned us to this company. We were assured pickup within 2 hours even though that was 2 hours later already. 10 minutes before the end of the 2 hours I have one of my managers call them on my behalf. The guy answers and rudely says that we have no scheduled pickup, and if we wanted a tow not to call back until we are ready to schedule and pay, even though GM was taking care of it.
I call myself having to leave the meeting i was in to deal with this only to get the same guy on the phone. He told me flat out that there was no order in his system, and no way he would do it w/​o taking payment upon pickup.
While I am explaining this to him I get an automated phone call from GM saying that ABC towing at (lists his phone number,) is scheduled to arrive within 15 minutes. He says that isn’t his company and there is nothing in his system.
He tells me «I have NOTHING in my system so it will be $ 125 plus mileage or he can’t help me.»
At that point I hung up and called GM. They put me on hold and called ABC towing. GM confirmed on the phone with ABC that their system shows he received and confirmed his fax. He denied it. While on the phone GM sends another fax, he says hold on for a second other line, accepts the fax and then lies on the phone to GM saying he didn’t receive the fax.
GM then gets back on the phone with me which its 3:35 at this point and tells me they don’t know what to do. They can only cancel that call and set up a new one. While I don’t blame GM for this, and there is only so much they can do, this is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
I believe his name was Amin but due to how long it took him to tell me he probably made it up or blamed someone else.
NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY.

First off, over the phone they told me it would be 190. When I got there they told me 225. I ended up paying 200. When i unlocked my car and went to leave I saw a crack in my windshield, or well more like someone had hit it with a baseball bat. They told me it was like that already (i assure you it was not). I even have video of it not being cracked until after they towed it (luckily my insurance covers the windshield). I would steer away from this company. They are just plain out liars and thieves. Go with anyone else first! ANYONE!

Horrible service! Saturday night I got a nail in my tire in DC and called AAA who connected me to the DC location. This was at 11:15pm. I was told at the most it would take an hour for them to get to me, but that they would probably be there in 30 – 40 min but maybe less. (???) They asked me if I was in a safe place. I told them I was at a gas station. They said great.
At 12:18am I got a call from AAA saying that they were delayed and he would try to get someone out to help me soon. He said they had a high number of lockouts, were short some of their staff, and it was a Saturday night… Ooookay… He gave me around the same time frame and said they would send someone from ABC Towing to put on my spare… Nothing definite… Again he asked me where I was and if I was in a safe place. I have the same response. At 1:05am someone from ABC Towing called me asking me where I was and if I could see his truck. Then before I could finish telling him where I was (almost right in front of him) he said, «Well, come out of the car and let’s talk. Come over here.» !!! Didn’t like his tone first off and besides that I don’t want to talk. I’ve been waiting for two hours for someone to do a 20 min job! I just want my spare tire put on so I’m not riding on a rim once all the air seeps out while I’m trying to get home!
So the guy from ABC Towing asked me what was wrong and if I called AAA (I’m wondering why he’s asking me this… I know he knows why he’s here). After I give him the rundown and asked him if he doesn’t normally come out to do these types of things (since he seemed very agitated to have to do it — to which he said he does normally do these things), he asked me if I called AAA again. ??? He starts working on the tire and at 1:18am he’s done! I waited 2 hours for a 13 minute tire change (minus a few minutes because of all the questions). When he finished putting on the spare he went to go get his clipboard to write up a receipt. He asked me again if I had called AAA and asked me to sign the receipt (To which he did not give me a copy. Guess I didn’t need it?). At 2am I finally got home… very tired and highly aggravated! First experience with AAA and I’m not impressed. Not sure if AAA called ABC Towing initially or after the first hour, but it just wasn’t a good experience.
The positives: the guy from ABC towing was knowledgable about what he was doing and didn’t take long, just wish he would have gotten there sooner…

ABC towing is to professional business, as Vlad Putin is too humanitarian. This business is an absolute disgrace, with its garbage practices and incapability of just being a responsible company. If Unilocal had a zero star feature, this company would certainly get it.
My car got towed here by default after I had gotten into an accident on a Saturday night. I had to wait almost 2 hours for the tow truck to finally come, at which point the driver was nice but that’s where the pleasantries end. First, this company lost the key to my vehicle. Yes… they lost my $ 500 key and didn’t accept responsibility for it even though my tow slip says «keys collected» on it.
Second, my insurance company attempted to pick up the car from their tow lot on two (2) separate occasions. Both of which, the insurance company’s driver called an hour ahead of time to inform the tow yard when they would be there. Both times, there was no one at the tow lot for the insurance company’s truck in to get my car. Even though they were given ample time to get one of their useless employees over there.
On the third attempt finally someone was at the tow lot (after five business days passed), so my car was finally able to be picked up. The car sat on ABC’s lot from early Sunday morning until Friday afternoon. This was not a coincidence — this company does this on purpose so that they can collect more money from the insurance company for «storing» the car.
All in all, if this business closed tomorrow it would be too soon. Their complete carelessness for my vehicle has led to me needing a rental car for an additional week, for which I should probably send them the bill. Avoid this garbage at all costs — you won’t regret it.

Quick and friendly. Took me to a place that fixed my tire problem right away, even though it wasn’t what I had originally requested. Really great service.

What can I say? When my car broke down this past Sunday, I was worried about finding a tower that would get my car out to where I needed it fixed. Enter ABC Towing. They got there fast and did their best to try to start my car before they realized it was down.
Once there, they towed it off to my needed location. A bit on the pricy side, but friendly and efficient nonetheless. If I need them again (no offense, but I hope not), I know who to call.

Thank you ABC towing for coming after work, being a professional and caring. You knew exactly what to do, how to get my car to the dealer and how to set it up for care the next morning. Thank you!!!
