A-1 Towing

So, the Benz died on the Beltway. My vanity plate is «BYMEAMB» Inherited the car, so just getting to know each other. I call Airpark and they say, «Stay warm, stay safe» we have a driver close by. How close…20 minutes close. Marcelo is the dispatch. Very professional. A few minutes later, Fritz arrives in a big ass tow truck. He says jump in to the passenger side, it’s warm and La Bamba is playing on the radio. He is quick, careful, and a generally cool guy to ride to a repair shop of my choice. Normally, you don’t say «Getting towed and great time» in the same sentence. Put this company in your speed dial.

Great price and super quick service. They jumped start my car within 20 minutes. Very polite and nice.

These guys are great! My car needed to be towed from a garage in dc and they were the only company who was good enough to get it out. I went through multiple attempts with other companies before finding these guys. They definitely saved my day.

Seriously CANNOT say enough great things about A-​1 Towing! My car was in an extremely tough spot in a very small underground garage and I was for sure there was no way it could be removed without damage. It was parked right next to a large cement pilon, so it had to make a sharp right turn out of the space or risk hitting a large cement wall on the other side. I can barely get in and out of the space when it’s working, let alone when I can’t get it to even turn on. But Richard literally MacGyver’ed my car out of the space without even blinking! I literally missed the whole thing while I was blabbering on to him about how impoosible it was. And he also texted me to let me know he had safely dropped it off at the dealership! Beyond satisfied with my service and would highly recommend A-​1 to anyone!

Had to use a-​1 towing service tonight. I called and they gave me an estimated waiting time of 25 minutes and ended up being there in 10! They also gave me a quote on the phone and allowed me to used plastic (didn’t have cash on us). The company texted me to make sure the driver had gotten there. Richard was very kind and sympathetic to the situation and explained every detail of how he was going to transport my baby bmw safely. Thank you A-​1 towing!

If you need a tow truck this is who you need to call, I gave them a call and the gave me a estimated time they would arrive and a quote. They arrived on time and in no time we where ready to leave to where I had to take my car. The drivers name was Floyd very respectful and knew what he was doing. When we got to the place I was taking my car too, he dropped the car made sure everything was okay, and the quote I was given was on the dot.

Best service ever. Got my keys locked inside the car. Called A-​1 towing the driver was at my location in 15 minutes in rush hour. That’s what I call customer service.

Helped us with a dead battery on a Sunday morning. Came to the hotel, jumped the car, we followed them to the shop, and they quickly had us on our way. They could have ripped us off and said we needed a new battery but did not. Nice guys.

Called the night before to get a quote for my car which was [safely]stranded on the side of a neighborhood road in DC. Quoted $ 95 for hookup/​$ 4 mile as my handwritten notes will attest. Quoted $ 105 for hookup/​$ 5 mile the following day by another dispatcher over the phone after the [very nice] towing guy already hooked up my car.
Having waited well over an hour in the blistering sun, I was not inclined to argue. However, kudos to the tow truck driver for double checking and kudos to the dispatcher for honoring the price originally quoted or rather, misquoted.
My only advice is to verify your quote beforehand and carry some extra cash to tip your driver; apparently, even after you’ve forked out money from your own pocket because your insurance wouldn’t cover it. Otherwise, you’ll just look like a heartless tool for not tipping because don’t you know, it’s the in thing these days to tip people for doing their jobs. Now I’m not saying he didn’t earn it (he was cool and all) but I had no clue you were supposed to tip the tow truck driver.

Just like I bet you didn’t know you were supposed to tip me for this write up.

Oh man. There is nothing worse than having your car die, late at night, and not anywhere in the near vicinity of your house.
Thank goodness for A-​1 Towing! Literally within ten minutes of calling my insurance company for a tow, after being stranded on Whitehaven in Georgetown, A-​1 was on the scene and hauling my 1996 Subaru Outback onto its flatbed.
Everything was quick and efficient and we were on our way back to Northern Virginia in minutes! Helpful hint, if your insurance company is paying, make sure you tip your driver.
