In the heart of Georgetown, amongst the cherry blossoms, two partners sought an oasis to share with their clients and friends.

Our vision took decades to realize. From our roots in Turkey we journeyed to the Nation’s Capital, diligently pursuing our craft, with the goal of creating an environment of providing the finest beauty and spa services. Jimmy is excellent. I went in with orange hair and, while it took a few visits and enough money to pay my rent with, I now have beautiful brown hair with natural looking blonde highlights. It was really worth it. The color has lasted and it’s growing in beautifully. Wish I had found Jimmy years ago!

This review is for Kari Ellen — not necessarily Violet salon as I have never had my hair done there.
Kari has literally transformed my eyebrows. She is worth every penny she charges! If you need someone to help you with over-​plucked, under-​plucked, or just messy eyebrows, she is your person.

I visited Jimmy for the first time at Violet Salon and enjoyed the experience. Jimmy, the owner, is an absolute pro with both cuts and color and he did a wonderful job with both. I also got my eyebrows waxed (I can’t remember the woman’s name) and she shaped them expertly and was very careful with my sensitive skin. I had barely any redness after.
Why am I giving this a 3? Basically bc of value for what I paid. For almost $ 400 for highlights and a hair cut and brow wax (including tip), I expect better ambiance and décor, and bit more white glove service. I was offered water halfway through my visit but for that kind of money, I should be getting a glass of bubbly and a shoulder massage. The interior of the salon looks like your every day ho-​hum barber shop, and while my cut and color were gorgeous, they weren’t exactly what I asked for. I should have spoken up, but after sitting in a chair for a few hours, I didn’t exactly feel like sitting there while he made changes.
All in all, this was a clean, comfortable and cute salon with solid services, but in my opinion, overpriced. Seems like I paid the Georgetown rent in addition to paying for my services.

Kari is awesome, and Eyebrows are her thing! Firstly she knows exactly what she’s doing so no need to worry about closing your eyes and waiting for the end result, you will always look phenomenal after she shapes your brows.
Secondly she listens… which is super important to me. I knew my shape needed help, but I was also working on thickening my brows– and she got it. I left with gorgeous brows that look fuller than when I walked in– yes they look fuller– not sure how she did that: a little wax, a little trimming, a little plucking and the shape just came together very nicely. I’m really happy and excited about working with her slowly to grow them back to fullness!
I’d pay any amount for someone this skilled to work on my face. It’s my face after all.

Kari is amazing with my brows. About three months ago, I read an online review and decided to try out Violet Salon as my new place to get my brows waxed. I had an appointment with Kari, and ever since I visit her monthly — she is WONDERFUL. She placed me on a regimen to grow out my brows, and then she expertly shaped them and tinted the brows. They look gorgeous, and the compliments are never-​ending! Highly recommend her services!

I have been in search of a good eyebrow wax for years and I finally found the place! Kari from violet salon is truly an artist. I’ve struggled with my misshaped, thinning eyebrows for years and after one visit to Kari I feel that all of my brow problems are gone! She did an amazing job at shaping my eyebrows and tinted them, making them look full and beautiful. I can’t wait for her at home kit, incredibrow by Kari Ellen, to come out! Kari does the best eyebrows hands down!

Kari is amazing with brows!!! Got a truly painless brow and lip wax without even the slightest trace of redness… LOVE THAT! She also did brow and lash tinting on my naturally blond-​ish hairs which really looks beautiful and natural. Love her work and believe me it’s totally worth dumping whoever has been doing your brows at the local nail salon and driving in circles for a parking spot in Georgetown :)

I first came to Kari with very beat up brows. For my entire life I was always told that I have balding, thinning eyebrows and there simply wasn’t much I could do about it… then I was introduced to Kari. The girl has literally made me look like a new person. She worked with me on growing them out; she shaped them beautifully and even applied a tint to make them look darker and fuller. I am totally addicted and am now a big believer in her signature product, Incredibrow. Because of her unbelievable precision, I decided to try out a make-​up session for my birthday. WOW. She uses quality products (her own line, Kari Ellen) and get this, SHE LISTENS. I don’t typically get my makeup done because I usually walk away looking like a circus freak. My makeup was classy, sexy and beautiful. I’m a big believer and really couldn’t imagine going to anyone else.

CURLY GIRLS READ THIS! This review is for Stacy, who I go to for amazing haircuts, but my last visit I went for a Keratin Express Treatment. I have super curly, thick hair that is probably consired unruly to most stylists. I use to get relaxers, but I got tired of how dry and gross felt after. Then, one random day, I decided to get the Kertain Express Treatment. Uh, AMAZING. I can’t even Unilocal how great of a decision that was because:
1. My hair is 80% smoother, less curly (but still kinda curly)
2. It never frizzes, even while I blowdry my hair with the windows open
3. It looks professionally blown out every time I do it myself.
4. I’ve seen NO damage at all! In fact, it improves my hair!
Worth every penny. Stacy is amazingly precise, so every single strand was just like the other, no patchy work. Perfection for the DC humidity.

I LOVE this salon. My best friend and I go to Rudy for cut and highlights/​color and he always does such a fantastic job! He also gives great tips on how to protect your hair and keep it in great shape. The rest of the staff is just as friendly, fun, attentive and personable. They also recently remodeled and it looks great! Keep up the great work!

I wanted a quality mani and pedi and them at Violet. The manicurist is very experienced, warm and welcoming. She took me right on time which I really appreciated.
I liked their pedi chairs which have message ability.
The area was kept nice and clean and she now has tools just for me. They are sterilized and placed in seal bags until my next visit.

Wow! I just received the best pedicure of my entire life, which is saying something, as I’ve spent the better part of a year trying to find a halfway decent salon/​spa in DC.
My aesthetician, My, took great care of me and did a wonderful, thorough job. I can’t wait to go back in a week or two! (She also did a nice job on my waxing.)
As someone else mentioned, you can’t leave the tip on your credit or debit card, so make sure to have some cash on hand before your appointment.
I made my appointment the day before, and was taken back right on time. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Violet!

RUDY RODRIGUEZ! He is my hair stylist idol and hero at Violet! I’ve been having Rudy hi-​lite, cut, and style my hair for the last four years.
I had moved to DC from Chicago and had a very difficult time finding a stylist that could truly hi-​lite my shoulder length fine hair without it looking brassy and/​or like I had to return back weeks later unhappy. I finally found Rudy (he was formerly two doors down which recently closed) at Erwin Gomez. Rudy is just amazing with hair with such a happy soul!
Rudy is 100% «hands on» and always pays attention to his clients from start to finish of your experience. He always checks on me repeatedly when my hi-​lites are processing and ensures my hair is being washed/​conditioned with the specific product to your hair type… he always glazes my hair himself and takes the time and attention to detail to look at the new color and make sure he is happy with it. He always makes sure you walk out looking and feeling fabulous!
Rudy is such an amazing stylist that is truly an expert with color! A true professional that loves and knows blondes so well!
