My glasses snapped in half at the bridge. Rushed to buy new ones but had to wear prescription sunglasses in the meantime. Then I found Frame Menders (through the glasses place). They fixed it perfectly. Originally I told them I’d pick them up the next day, changed my mind and called and had them ready a few hours later for a $ 5 extra charge! Worth the $ 75!

These guys are great. My glasses were literally in pieces — broken bridge and temple. Within two hours, they were like new. The repair person warned me that the temple repair would be noticeable, and it would not be as flexible as before, but when I got the glasses back, I barely noticed the difference. You’d be crazy to go anywhere else.

I thought my Kio Yamato Japanese titanium frames were history. They broke directly on the hinge and the screw could no longer be used. I paid for «While You Wait» service. My backup glasses are hideous «Barton Fink» spectacles. Ugh! I was overjoyed when I received my repaired Yamato frames back. They looked brand new! Glenn did an excellent job. I am thankful that this place exists.

The wire, holding my left lens to the frame, snapped on this morning’s commute. As soon as this location opened I walked in. Justin was very helpful and was able to fix (while I waited) in 20 minutes. Excellent, quick, quality service. That’s what I wanted, that’s what I found.

Wow! Went ballistic when the bridge of my only pair of eye glasses broke… The framemender man not only welded the bridge together, he added and extra wire to add additional strength. $ 74.00 for same day service, and a lifetime guarantee on the mend! What a great deal, and What a great business! Locations in Baltimore, Rockville, College Park and DC.

A teeny bit pricier than I’d like, but I guess reasonable and certainly cheaper than buying new glasses. The option to have them work on it while you wait for $ 5 more is nice. And obviously buy the Unilocal deal that they have, of course. They have a lifetime guarantee on their particular repair and service is decently quick (1 day for my repair).
They’re not usually standing right at the counter so ring the little bell when you walk in. You pay first and then they’ll email you the receipt if you want it. They have limited opening hours that are slightly inconvenient so check the hours if you’re trying to go before or after work or something (they don’t open before 11am).

Took Persol sunglasses to the shop to be repaired, which they did. However, several weeks later, the glasses broke again in the same place. The shop tried to repair them at no charge, returning them in worse shape than I brought them in. The repairman noted that the style of frame was difficult to fix, and I appreciate their effort, but my sunglasses are no longer wearable.

I’ve used these guys twice. Once to get broken frames put back together, and once to get some twisted up frames straightened. I tried to untwist the twisted frames and only made it worse. They repaired them in 20 minutes.
Both times they did a great job the same day. $ 50 is inexpensive compared to the $ 200+ you end up paying for prescription glasses advertised for under $ 100. ;)

Brought my Ray-​Bans here to re-​attach a piece missing which caused the side ‘arm’ to be detached from the lenses. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and charged a $ 10 re-​alignment fee. Quick, affordable and blocks from two metro lines. I’ll definitely bring my prescription classes here to help with the alignment and fitting.
Only thing I was disappointed about was they don’t feel with scratches on lenses or frames. Still in search of a place…

I bought some new glasses last year. Apparently I did a great job in picking the right frames because they broke 3 times in less than 6 months. The first two times I took them to the shop where I originally bought them. Free repair, but what good is free if you have to get them fixed every 2 – 3 months?
That experience led me to The Frame Mender. $ 25 to get them fixed. A bit pricey, but they seem more firm and secure than before. Perhaps it is too early to judge, but I can take solace in the fact they have a lifetime guarantee.

These guys are INCREDIBLE! … I can’t say enough good things about them. Basically, I had a pair of vintage Burberrys that had cracked about a month ago. Not a SINGLE eyewear specialist in all of NYC could fix them, claiming that plastic frames are basically unfixable once broken. I didn’t want to get a new pair and was determined to see if I could find someplace that could. FRAME MENDERS WAS THE PLACE… They did a job no one else said was do-​able — they did it QUICKLY (1.5 hours) and I had my glasses back good as new and couldn’t be happier. Price was very reasonable and same day service too! They did an AMAZING, THOROUGH AND PROFESSIONAL JOB… Ask for Justin: he is extremely extremely good at what he does and is very knowledgeable and courteous and does a good job of explaining as well

Broke the nosepiece off a pair of Barton Perreira titanium frames. The nearby optical places apologized while admitting that they wouldn’t be able to make the repair — they had no ability to weld the titanium.
Hopped online, checked out Unilocal,found other great reviews for The Frame Mender and after a quick call to confirm that they could do it same day, was on my way.
Went to the downtown DC location where the staff was quick, courteous, and confident. Just a few moments to check out what needed to be done and a warning about some slight miscolorization that might result and they took the glasses off to repair while I waited. $ 75 for the repair, including the same day service, but also done quicker than expected (only about 20 minutes), they tightened up the glasses in general, and they’re as good as new.
Really happy overall and far less expensive than having to buy new frames. I’d easily go back.
