Dr. Scheer is a nice but inefficient. I have a sister who is a Physician’s Assistant who was able to diagnose my condition over the phone(torn meniscus) but went to him so I could get the go ahead for an MRI back in October since I’m moving to Peru next week. Dr. Scheer prescribed Physical Therapy(which doesn’t repair a torn meniscus). I finally got and MRI in my hometown(in Ohio) and will have to have my knee repaired 48 hours prior to moving to Peru. Cheers.

Quote from previous reviewer: «Nice guy. The Dr. himself is kinda glib and removed. He did not educate me on my condition.» =================== ** Ditto. ** He «seemed» nice, but he told me NOTHING. He explained nothing. He did no x-ray, no MRI … just a guessing game. His aggressive exam/manipulation made my injury worse, and months later I found out(from another Dr.) I have PVNS. I hope he reads this. Dr. Scheer, you know what you did to my knees. I can barely walk. Shame on you! No. Just no. This is an evil man.

Nice guy, but scheduling appointments if you work during the day is a NIGHTMARE. Staff is very rude on the phone. The Dr. himself is kinda glib and removed. He did not educate me on my condition, I had to do a lot of research online on my own and decipher what I should be doing.

Dr. Scheer is great. I have no frame of reference of other orthopedists, but he’s very friendly and cool and seems to have done a great job repairing a break below my knee. His office is is very nice and professional, and his staff friendly, but I do have one complaint. In fact, I was thinking of giving four out of five stars because of it, but… I’ll just give a warning instead: On all of THREE occasions between June through December 2011, I called Dr. Scheer’s office and left a message with whomever answered in reception, and… never got a call back. The first one was I think later in the day of my surgery(which was in the morning) and involved a question about my medication, which one would think would be prioritized. I had another question or two as well, but never heard back about any of them. I then called I think within that week with another question or two and left a message and… never heard back. In late December, I called to follow-up about a particular exercise that he was going to hand me an instructional diagram for on my last visit, but then we both forgot about it before I left, and I left a message with whomever answered in reception, and… never heard back. Really? THREE times this happens? I have no way of knowing if Dr. Scheer ever got any of the messages and never called me back or if his staff never got the messages to him, but… seriously? THREE out of three times, spanning six months? So…to sum up, Scheer is great and the office is very nice and is a very respectable operation, but… you may need to follow-up on messages that you leave for Dr. Scheer.(I never did.)

Dr. Scheer is great, he’s professional and quick with an emphasis on getting you back to action quickly. I’ve always been able to get an apointment quickly, and find his office staff to be professional and kind. I have found that he takes a rather aggressive approach, which works for me, but may not for everyone. That is NOT the same as eager to cut; but he doesn’t take the«wait and see» approach that drives me crazy from other doctors(I mean, If I’d wanted to wait and see what happens in 3 weeks, I wouldn’t have made an appointment!) He prescribes physical therapy, cortisone, and the tests needed to get to the heart of the issue and follows up quickly. I trust him, too. Only on a handful of times have I ever had to wait more than 10 min for my appointment, but at least twice i waited for 30. Appointments early in the day tend to be on schedule, it seems. If you don’t have a lot of time, ask the front desk what time or you should try to schedule, and what days are really booked up. if they squeeze you in, expect to wait.
