The Pure Barre Technique is a total body workout that burns fat and produces lifted seats, toned arms, thin thighs, and flat abs by fusing elements of ballet, pilates and weights in a 55 minute intense session. It is the most effective, fastest, yet safest way to change your body.
History
Established in 2013.
Pure Barre was founded in 2001 by dancer, choreographer and fitness guru, Carrie Rezabek Dorr. In 2009, Pure Barre became a franchise and there are now over 100 locations nationwide. The Washington, DC Pure Barre studio was opened in 2013 by local DC attorney and fitness enthusiast, Michelle Garcia Davidson.
Meet the Business Owner
Michelle D.
Business Owner
Michelle was a practicing insurance tax attorney for over 7 years, most recently as senior counsel at a large international life insurance company. She graduated with a degree in marketing from the University of Florida, and received her J.D. with honors from the George Washington University Law School. While she enjoyed her work as a tax lawyer, Michelle was searching for a more fulfilling career that would prioritize her active lifestyle and her desire to have a more immediate impact on the lives of others and her community.
After her introduction to Pure Barre, the next move felt effortless. In June of 2012, she decided it was time to bring the Pure Barre technique to the women (and hopefully some of the men) of Washington, DC. Michelle is excited and grateful to have this opportunity to enrich the lives of others through fitness, motivating and empowering them to feel more confident about themselves and their bodies.
