Nike Running

If you enjoy a high intensity workout, this is for you! The Nike Training Club (also known as NTC), Georgetown, is one of the largest training clubs of its kind! They currently average between 200 – 250 people per class! For those of you who have no clue what NTC is, what’s so special about it, why should you go, etc… allow me to be your Jim Jones and convince you to drink the kool-​aid!!! First, it’s FREE (yes, I said FREE), which is a substantial perk because as we all know, not many things in life are free these days (you feel me)?!
The Nike store in Georgetown closes its doors most Monday nights (they do acknowledge some holidays, the trainers schedules, and the weather) at 7pm to accommodate the 8pm NTC class and the hundreds of people who enjoy coming out for not only an awesome workout, but great music throughout the class (with DJ Chris Styles live and direct) and interacting with other people who try their best to withstand the same asskicking you came to endure! There are a total of 4 outstanding Nike trainers: Deanna Jefferson, Ingrid Nelson, Chris Perrin, and Tony McElroy (a good follow on IG); who alternate schedules and lead the class. Most classes are lead by 2 trainers, where they split the 50 minute class and provide a number of different workouts that include but aren’t limited to individual/​partner/​group exercises that focus on getting lean, getting tone, getting strong, and getting focused. Tonight’s class, was led by both Deanna and Ingred (and let me just say, these ladies took no prisoners)! When I tell you I almost died (twice), I’m not lying! The class included everything from sprints to burpees to planks to squats to bridges… you name it, they brought it (x1000)!!!
Things to keep in mind when you decide to come out to checkout NTC:
* Signup in advance (this is not a suggestion, but a MUST)! They do allow walk-​ins if there is space available, but trust me, you will want to sign up in advance to avoid a longer wait and taking the chance of being denied entry. Registration opens every Sunday at 3pm, and you can register by going to

* ARRIVE EARLY!!! This will help (but not guarantee) a better spot in the class; however, I can say it’s definitely worked to my advantage!
* If you’re a sweater like myself, a towel is also a MUST! The nice thing is that if you forgot to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated, the Nike staff do offer complimentary/​individual 8oz bottles of water.
* If you bring a bag/​backpack, coat and/​or purse, be prepared to give it up at coat check (they don’t play)!! The best way for me to describe coat check is «organized chaos!» There are two Nike staff members who manage the coat check by separating the bags/​backpacks, coats, and purses; however, there are no tickets or another form of quickly identifying one persons belongs from another (it’s all done by memory). As you can see, this can cause a bit of chaos when picking up your belongs at the end of the class. Additionally, it’s a bit of an inconvenience if you workout on the 2^nd floor (like myself), and many others. My suggestions to participants would be: either leave your belongs in your car/​at home or bring distinctive items to ease the pain when obtaining your belongs (lol)! My suggestions to Nike would be: offer a coat check on the 2^nd floor or maybe include some form of storage upstairs (e.g. cubbies) and/​or a ticketing system to allow for more efficiency with giving people’s belongs back at the end of the night.

The staff on the first floor were uneducated about the products they’re selling. Even the staff on the basketball merchandise level knew nothing about shoe performance. It’s an ok place to browse, but their customer service is lazy and lacks any practical knowledge regarding their products.

We were looking for some gear to keep us warm during our upcoming brisk walking adventurers & ended up here after a bold & cold decision to hoof it over from Farragut North… really needed the gear for that walk.
No joke, as soon as our feet got in the door, we were greeted simultaneously by 2 – 3 different employees. After the grand welcome wagon, my daughter went to ask one of the associates to check her gift card balance & we got Ms. Corrie in return to assist us.
Not only was she built like a walking advertisement for Nike’s work out garb, she was sooooooo friendly. She was solid knowledge on the store’s apparel, especially for the various types of needs, elements & such.
After we got our questions answered, we hit the leggings department, then the socks selection, pursued over the jackets & even came across the new thing of sneakers & boots joined together.
As a 95 Air Max fanatic, this is the perfect combination of my need for black sneakers & boots during the winter time. I love my Nike Boots, but they are a little heavy with great comfort & support to get around in the snow, but not for frequent wear.
The store is expansive with many floors to shop from, different Nike endorsers, Pro & Collegiate gear & the oh so popular MJ’s exclusive line of J’s.
Good to note, Nike gift cards are redeemable at both the flagship & outlet stores, of course the more newer & hotter items are at the stores oppose to the outlets, but hey, Nike is Nike all day, every day.

Nike does not honor their warrantee. The soles separated from the uppers after two month Nike Georgetown and Nike Corporate Headquarters stated that they could not replace them.

The staff here is SUPER helpful and actually seem passionate about everything Nike (compare this to many retail stores that have staff who clearly don’t want to be there). I love how big this place is, yet it is STILL well-​staffed. Every floor here has something for everyone. Of note, is the Retro Jordan exhibition on the top floor (this includes all the models in Georgetown colors with a short history lesson on each model. VERY cool!). They also have a treadmill to try out a specific runner you might be into, which is a nice added touch. They also integrate with Nike’s SNKR’s app and have plenty of police on hand during limited releases so you never feel unsafe if you’re into limited sneakers (believe me, this is needed)… Perhaps the only issue I have is the lack of Nike SB products, but that may have more to do with Nike’s distribution of the SB brand. All in all, this is one of the most well thought out and well staffed Nike stores I’ve ever been to and an absolutely MUST stop if you’re in the DC/​Georgetown area.

Went in here a few days ago needing running shoes. After hanging out looking at shoes for what seemed like 10 minutes, a salesperson decided to stop bouncing a basketball and ask me if I needed any help. I did, but didn’t get it from him. He was all about the ‘tude and added nothing to my effort to figure out what shoes to buy. The extent of his comments: 1) «You from around here?» This is apparently his standard opening line. Heard him use it on someone right after me. Like we’re going to buy something from him because we’re both from DC. Anyway, 2) After I told him I couldn’t decide between two models I tried on, he said «Maybe it just comes down to aesthetics.» Clearly hoping to steer convo toward fashion and away from what shoe is better suited to my running habits. Total contrast — in a bad way — to my recent visit to Pacers running gear shop in Alexandria, where the expert salespeople there are all about what shoes will work best for you, not «where I’m from.» But if you like salespeople bouncing basketballs and bringing the ‘tude, Georgetown Nike is your place.

Beautiful building… Terrible customer service. After leaving there I seriously had to have a drink, it sucked the good energy I came in with. Nike your one of my favorite brands. Please go in there and fix it. I spoke with a resident that lives in DC and they had the same complaint about your customer service.

Staff was helpful and not pushy. Helped me get what I needed.

Good collection of kicks 3 floors tax is 6% have a lot of clothing and accessories to meet your sporting gear, staff is nice and glad that they’re open on sundays less customers also good walking distance from other shops can really miss it with a big Nike orange check on the building

I tried to do their online survey but it refused to accept my code after 4 tries. So posting here instead. Great store — while you can Nike product almost everywhere, this is the place to come to understand the nuances between the different shoe models plus see what’s newest (and often exclusive to the Nike stores).
I came in needing new shoes from gym classes. I wanted lightweight shoes but need support for a bad ankle — not an easy combo. Tyler was great: knowledgeable, friendly realistic, walked me through pros and cons of my options. I’m happy with the pair I ended up buying. While Georgetown isn’t as convenient as driving to a mall, this is the place to go.

Beautiful store, friendly employees, and a great selection. There’s just a certain type of excitement that happens when you come here. It’s a cross between being excited to buy everything in the store, and the urge to work out until you pass out. I noticed that they do carry a lot of items that I never find available in other stores that carry Nike (even months later). I always find what I need and leave happy. I love you Nike Georgetown!

This is, by far and away, the nicest Nike Store I have ever been to. I have purchased thousands of dollars in Nike shoes and apparel over the years but most of it has been done online, at Dick’s Sporting Goods or at Nike Factory Outlet stores. Admittedly, the prices at this Nike Store are much higher than the Factory Outlet stores but you will be able to get the newest Nike technology.
If price is your concern, I would strongly suggest checking out the Nike Outlets. I purchases a long sleeved dri-​fit shirt at this store and it was $ 125. I don’t think there was a single long sleeved Nike men’s shirt for under $ 80. You can get similar shirts at the Nike Outlet for around $ 50 or $ 60.
One of the main reasons I give this Nike Store five stars is the beauty of the store. It is very well done. There is a shrine to John Thompson and Georgetown basketball as soon as you walk in. There is also a display of all 25 years of the Air Jordan shoes on the top floor. I would strongly suggest going and checking that out. This brought back memories for me as I had Air Jordans as a child.
Once again, if money is a concern, check out the outlets. If you want the newest technology, colors and a little bit of the back story behind Nike this is a place you need to visit.

The Georgetown Nike store offers a free Nike Training Club (NTC) every Monday at 8pm. The store is closed to the general public at that time, and a trainer and a DJ is brought in for a fun and intense workout. Water is provided and you can try out Nike shows and Fuel bands.
It is a bit crowded, even with both floors open for the NTC. It is worth check out at least once, as it is the largest NTC in the world.

This is a Nike store in Georgetown. Its not going to be cheap, but I love Nike apparel, I love Nike pro core shorts. And I run in the flynit trainers.
Don’t expect the sales team to understand what shoes you need for the sport your into.
Do expect, the new hip trends that Nike has to offer now.

For a normal nike store, this place is great. Having been to Nike Towns in SF and NYC, it’s hard to give this place 5 stars. There’s a decent selection for every gender and every activity, but they didn’t have what I was looking for (Team USA 14 World Cup jerseys). However, it’s located right on the main strip of popular retail shops so you can’t beat the location.

Huge Nike fan and was so happy when the Nike store opened up… in the most crowded place. I love how big the store is, can be a little bit overwhelming with 3 floors full of stuff! The women’s section is all of first floor which is awesome. Tons of sneakers and clothing to choose from. I wish there was more of a kid’s selection though because I wear kids shoes (so much cheaper!) and their selection is limited. The displays are very appealing especially the Jordans on the 3^rd floor with Georgetown Hoya colorways. Alot of new and exciting item to explore, if you’re looking for some new gear or shoes, this Nike store is an awesome place to look at first. Also, employees are more than willing to help and you will get a greeting everywhere you turn. Customer service has never been a problem for me.

Even though this store is located in Georgetown, the land of no-​parking, I still think this store is pretty cool! There aren’t many Nike stores on the East coast, so I was pleased to be withing driving distance when I needed to return my Nike Fuelband.
The return process was painless and quick; It actually took me longer to find a parking spot. I was impressed by how large the store was. It has three levels and everything looks so neat against the hardwood floors.

Soooo *CUTE*! Love the new Nike product lines, fun color palettes, and especially the creative/​intuitive in-​store design. #UX
ProTips:
— Check out the bank of computers on the top level atop an old gaming table of sorts
— Note the piled gym mats that are used for bench style seating, when trying on shoes
— Be wary of the swarming sales people (yeah, they mean well), but if the story isn’t busy, I swear they stalk you from level to level, passing you off from one group of sales people to the next. While this is kind of cool end-​to-​end service, the strategy only works if undetected. If observed (as in my case), it’s just creepy and feels overwhelming. I smiled politely, but didn’t feel comfortable browsing, as a result.
(Minus 1 star for this, which I would attribute — not to cool, West Coast-​based [Portland, Oregon!] Nike’s attempted culture, but to local Washington D.C. culture that doesn’t really understand retail & sales the way the cool, hip, edgy more natural West Coast does. Like, I get the corporate intention here, it just is a bit foreign to the East Coast.)

Niketown = 4 stars for me.
Great showcase of Nike products and there’s a fun section on the upper floor to see swatches of fabric and colors if you want to do a custom Nike ID shoe — who knew you could get dalmatian dog and leopard print on your sneakers?!
For basketball fans, there’s an interesting display on the evolution of the Jordans… it’s amazing to see how shoes have changed over the last 15 years.
I’ve been in here on regular days when in town and also recently during the Nike women’s half marathon. The customer service has been very consistent and solid each time, even when it was crazy busy… I’m sure it’s not easy dealing with tons of women and shoes!

Boys listen up — — Nike’s Thermal Element Running Tights are the male equivalent to Lululemon’s Wunder Unders.
Simply put, they make your butt and thighs look DAMN good. You can thank me later.
While purchasing a pair of these wonderfully amazing pants, wander around the three floors of Nike heaven and graze over their Jordan collection, team wear apparel, and seemingly endless supply of dri-​fit tees.
