place for shopping with luxuries brands in all floors. on escalator escalator of course in a beautiful building in the All brands are available, including therefore not only creators for chic old. One of my favorite places in Washington, DC.

I was scouting around for a new «little black dress» and found just what I was looking for here, although I blinked a couple times at the price. No matter, I could save for a bit and get something as classic and necessary to my wardrobe as that.
Fast forward to today’s snow – I’m out front trying not to bust my butt on the sidewalk, because Muleh is apparently way too trendy to bother with something so blasé as taking care of their sidewalks, never mind those pesky DC regulations about business owners being responsible and whatnot. You make hundreds of dollars on a dress, but you can’t throw twenty bucks down for some salt? Hand a homeless guy a shovel and a couple bucks cash on the sly? Worried you’ll chip a nail if you have to pick up the phone and call someone? Instead you’re the only ones on the block creating a hazard for pedestrians by having your front walk be a solid sheet of ice, and I went past many hours after you’d been open so it wasn’t like no one knew. No one cared.
I’m not impressed that you’re too good for the city you reside in, or at least you think you are. My money is too good for you. I’ll keep looking elsewhere for my perfect little black dress, thank you very much.

Designer clothing, particularly any kind of edgy designer clothing, is not easy to find in DC. Most clothing options here don’t get more sophisticated than an Elie Tahari pantsuit.
On the other hand, if you know how rare it is to find Vivienne Westwood Anglomania in a STORE, can name Phillip Lim bags on sight (besides the Pashli), or have a passion for organic modern furniture, you should be shopping here. The selection of clothing, shoes and accessories is exquisite, not to mention the insanely beautiful furniture and lighting (they had a lamp made of hundreds of individually-​spun silk pods that costs at least $ 5k that I recognized from photos of designer David Bromstad’s Miami apartment). A lot of thought clearly goes into choosing each piece.
But this isn’t a five-​star review, it’s a three-​star review. Everything is full price. Yes, I’ve been there when they’ve had the Muleh version of a sale, but you’ll almost always find the same pieces cheaper online. You’re really paying for the luxury of having them (Muleh) there, trying things on, seeing pieces in person that you wouldn’t ordinarily find in a store… Kinda like a museum. Also, I gave the (owner?) my email address for their mailing list on my first visit to the store (events, sales, etc) and have not received a single email. Normally I wouldn’t be complaining about zero emails, but it’s been over a year since that visit.
As other reviewers have said, if you have a ton of money, it is definitely be worth it to shop here. If you’re looking for a killer outfit that (probably) nobody else in DC is wearing, shop here. Otherwise, it’s better to visit with the «museum» mindset more than the «store» mindset.

Hanging out along the 14^th Street corridor during the «Mid City Dog Days sales, and telling my girlfriends about some of the stores I’ve visted in the past. Muleh was one of them; went in there again and I tell you the fashion in this store truly defines and redefines my sense of fashion. I love my vintage and it rocks but coming back to Muleh gave me a reality check to start buying high-​end fashion/​designer clothes again. I love the texture/​quality of the white shirts/blouses…very stylish and so me, me, me. I will be back w/​cash and credit cards in hand and of course a hugh smile… love it. And the furniture is nice too!

I love everything about this boutique: their vision, their space, affinity to gorgeous merchandise, and their talented and friendly staff.

There are some gorgeous women’s clothes here, all with high price tags. All I did was window shop– it was all too pricy for me to even consider trying on. If you are ok with spending $ 400 to $ 1000 on a dress, this is a worthwhile place to visit. If not, go down the street to Current Boutique for cute consignment.

I wandered into Muleh for the first time this afternoon. Wow. When I win the lottery, all the treasures within shall be mine. Anyway, I was truly impressed with the lack of attitude and pretension on the part of the staff, a rare treat. I always fear a «Pretty Woman» moment when I go into a high-​end store, due to my general approach to fashion and grooming. However, the salespeople couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive without being suffocating. I scored a lovely dress at 50% off and will be back when my bank account recovers.

I want to sit on, wear, and otherwise possess every single thing in this store. Totally killer. I had a mini stroke when I realized they carried Vivien Westwood’s Anglomania AND Derek Lam, two of my absolute obsessions. I can’t shop here without a sale, but the sales are pretty decent especially if justified as an «I work hard and damn it, I’m worth it!» type-​splurge. Honestly, I just love being IN the store. Whether it’s furniture, clothing, or accessories, everything is beautiful and begging to be touched… I’m getting myself a little worked up now, so I need to end this review.

Love this place… half our home is decorated with it. Organic, modern, clean… it’s truly one of DCs rarest gems in the furniture world!

I loved just about every part of this store. It was beautiful, the people were knowledgeable and friendly. The items were gorgeous. It’s a mix of furniture and home décor along with womens’ clothing. Everything was stunning. I had a delightful chat with the owner. She came over, we talked about how unique the items were. Everything was beautiful, I mean shiny and exquisite and stunning. I saw an outfit I would have changed into and flown to the Grammy’s immediately!
This was a top notch establishment. I would love to furnish my home with the goodies here and shine in the clothes. This would get 5 stars if I didn’t have to give blood to buy anything in here. So, I used it for design elements inspiration in my home.

This place is absolutely amazing. The furnishings are awesomely creative and original and most of them have a natural look to them (wicker, bamboo, rattan, etc) which I love. Now, if you’re like me… an everyday young professional in D.C. whose income isn’t being supplemented by well off parents, you wont wont be able to afford anything in the store. Not even a vase, but dont let that deter you from going in and having a peek. ALSO, in addition to furniture and décor. they have the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen!!! Again, unless you have a six figure income, a trust fund, or well off folks sending checks on a regular, you probably wont be able to afford the clothes either, but again… we can all window shop and dream :)

I’m shocked that Pui Chi hasn’t already reviewed this joint. It seems like it’d be totally up her alley.
Wickedly cool (in my mind) designed furniture — tons of rattan and wicker (?) stuff. Chairs and tables that incorporate wood and glass, all tasteful and modern. Definitely products that I’d love to have in my place… if I only had the space for them (and the budget to purchase them).
Specifically, there was this absolutely amazing folding Bandoo (I think) cocktail cabinet made out of painted wooden sticks. From what the friendly and pleasant gallery girl explained, it’s a one-​of-​a-​kind piece, too. It had a fold-​down bar surface (kind of like the wall-​mounted ironing boards), horizontal cylinders to hold wine bottles, and a slot to sore upside-​down wine glasses. Completely different than anything I’d ever seen before.
Oh, and as of yesterday (when I popped in briefly), their small yet diverse men’s Theory collection was mostly on sale for an additional 25% off. Even so, most of the pieces were out of my price range, unless I’m out for a splurge. That’s the only brand for guys that they carry, which isn’t that much of a problem, considering how killer Theory is.
When I actually obtain a sugar daddy, I know where I’m redecorating the condo from.

Another vote for Muleh as the best and most fashionable boutique in the D.C. area… maybe even anywhere south of NYC and east of L.A. Great clothes, furniture, staff and style. I’m realizing that I’m sort of ruined by spending 15+ yrs in cities supporting scores of daring and imaginative shops, designers, buyers and shoppers, both bargain and bespoke. I’m also realizing — more than ever — that wherever you live, you need to vote with your dollars, however few discretionary ones you have. I’d rather buy less, mending or modifying favorite pieces I already own, than buy creativity-​killing, knock-​off, sweat-​shop products. Wait for sales, if necessary.

This place is fantastic, but warning: very very pricy. It certainly isn’t uniike many boutinques in Miami or NY at which I have shopped during my various trips. The salespeople are friendly, as they should be if they expect to make sales on such pricy inventory. Its like mini department store but on a boutique level.

Worth just on its own for a visit is the building that Muleh is in. It looks like a warehouse gallery, and I guess it is– but instead of art, there’s furniture and clothes,
When you are in the 14^th Street hood and want to see some fab-​u-​lous clothes and some great furniture, then hit Muleh. There is supposedly another location in Bethesda, but this is the spot I have gone to more than a few times.
The clothes are uniquely cut or patterned so you know if you buy a piece at Muleh that you can easily make it a «signature style» piece. As far as the furniture, it is modern but made out of wood with warm tones and natural fibers so these pieces are a great compliment to an über modern space. The furniture is made by designers from Bali and the Philippines so just sitting in one of the «cutaway» chairs was like taking a vacation.

This is an odd little stop in the U Street corridor — where furniture and clothing are sold all in the same shop. It is almost like the owners couldn’t decide what kind of store to open so they opened them both in the same space. I like it though. Despite the fact that the furniture isn’t my style, I could definitely appreciate the quality. Actually, there is a dining room table right in front that was very cool (a modern take on a pedestal table), but since I already have one… that was out. Displayed with the table were these funky little stool seats that you cannot imagine being comfortable. They are constructed of small wooden rods that stick up — a ha, but when you sit down on them there is some sort of springy structure beneath that makes them conform to your shape. I appreciate ingenuity like that.
The clothing is also unique and stylish, but also not anything I truly couldn’t live without (That award goes to All About Jane and South Moon Under).

The clothing here is awesome! It’s sort of random that this store is part furniture, part clothing, but when both are so freaking good I guess it doesn’t matter. I would buy practically everything in this store. They have a good deal of the merchandise listed online, so all you have to do is visit the Web site to see what I mean. The store has sort of a random location near the Black Cat, and I know they used to have a store in Bethesda as well, but it closed. If you are interested in good quality, fashionable items, check this place out.
