I have hypothyroidism since 2008 and have changed so far 4 endocrinologists and doctor Sklar is by far the best. I have kept him as my doctor even when I had to change my health insurance to one he does not accept. Him and his stuff helped me taking care of my health and to keep the prices of visits down. I love all of the people in this office and 2 yrs after moving to NYC I am still in search for similar quality of doctor. He listens and EXPLAINS where the catch is, which my two previous doctors have not done so you actually understand what is going on with you and whether you can do something about it or not. It is very frustrated for people with thyroid treatments when you numbers look great and you feel crapy and there is not much you can do and if your doctor fails to explain what options are out there and what are their pros and cons you are left wondering if your doctor cares or knows about your condition. For thyroid problems go and see Dr Sklar you will be in best hands available in DC!

I called this office based on good reviews to find out more information and book a new client appointment. It would’ve been helpful to know that Dr. Sklar hasn’t been accepting new diabetic patients«since 2009» before trying to schedule with his office.

PLEASE, PLEASETRYTOSEEHIMFOR A second opinion(third or fourth). It’s well worth it. I think that we all agree that a «doctor» is a healer right? In my book, one can’t be a healer without being a good person. I don’t know Dr. Sklar socially, but judging from the way his practice is run(and from the happiness radiating from everyone from the receptionist to the technician, to the physician’s assistant), he has to be… there is really good energy here(sorry to sound so crunchy granola, but I don’t know how else to phrase it). So many physicians today are prespcription/procedure happy. Dr. Sklar is not one of those doctors. He will listen to you, inform you of your choices, and design a path to health that works best for you. Don’t get me wrong – he’s no pushover. He reminds me of how my grandfather used to interact with his patients – with compassion, and dilligence, but with a firm hand. Please… you owe yourself a visit before you let someone cut you up.
