Thrilled with my bunion surgery experience with Dr. Kominsky and physical therapy with Dr. Jacobson. I was pleasantly surprised that I had zero pain from the surgery. Dr. K knows what he is doing as he has done thousands of surgeries. You can always reach him through his staff and have all your questions answered, even at night and on weekends. The staff at Sibley told me that Dr. K’s patients always do very well. Everyone at Dr. K’s office is friendly, professional and competent. Have recommended this practice to several friends already.

Subsequent to posting the review on June 3^rd, I learned I needed to have bunion surgery.
I had always heard that bunion surgery is horribly painful until I met someone who had Dr. Kominsky do hers; she reported no pain.
When I needed to have bunion surgery, I naturally went to Dr. Kominsky. Thank goodness that person was not an anomaly. No pain! I had surgery on one foot Oct.16^th and am having the other on November 6^th to have it all behind me.
Not only is Dr. Kominsky a phenomenal podiatrist and surgeon, he has a terrific staff that is personable and caring as well as extremely knowledgeable. I most highly recommend Dr. Komisky and his staff.

Dr. Kominsky operated on my left ankle and did an absolutely fantastic job. He is one of the few physicians who takes the time to listen to you, and I mean actually listen to you, and figure out how best to treat you. His follow up after the surgery was excellent, his staff is excellent, and I highly recommend seeing him. He is one of the most knowledgeable physicians that I’ve ever seen.

Dr. Kominsky is outstanding. His office staff is polite. His bedside manner is comforting. I had a surgery I was very scared about, but Dr. Kominsky made it an experience that was not unpleasant at all.

Two of my kids went to Dr Kominsky recently, one for excruciating foot pain and the other for a cracked bone in her foot. As a parent, I was so impressed with Steve’s team. Professional, efficient, caring and effective. My kids actually enjoyed their follow up visits. They are both fully healed and loving life.

I saw Dr. Kominsky as an emergency patient. I found him and his staff to be all the things a professional should be. He was efficient, knowledgeable and caring. He instilled a sense of confidence in me that I was in good hands.

I had been to an orthopedist for plantar fascitis and he really did nothing, waste of time and money, but then a friend of mine had been to Dr. Kominsky and told me to see him as I was still in pain. I loved Dr. K. He’s just an easy going guy, knows exactly what he is doing, very warm.

I just had two bunions removed by. Dr. Kominsky. It was an amazing experience! He is an artist. Most important was that I never felt any pain. I walked out of the hospital both times. They were done three weeks apart. The office is wonderful and the staff kind and professional. Dr. Jacobsen did a fabulous job with the physical therapy. I started this in mid May and have been wearing regular shoes for two weeks now. Even in sneekers or, earlier, in the soft boot I walked and was totally comfortable. Do yourself a favor and go see this doctor. Even the staff at Sibley told me I was working with the best! PS. Even the scars will be gone before too long as he uses plastic surgery stitches! THE BEST!

I saw Dr. Stephen Kominsky for a few months for some foot pain, and had physical therapy with Dr. Andrea Jacobson.
I would not recommend based on the following:
— The office staff was very unprofessional. I walked into the waiting area a few times to find both receptionists texting on their cell phones. It usually took a while for either of the girls to stop texting and actually help me.
— Dr. Kominsky always seemed rush, and didn’t quite know the specifics of my issues. A few times, it was pretty obvious that he didn’t read my chart before coming into the exam room, because he had no idea why I was there. He would have to leave the room, check the chart, and then come back and start over.
— His first recommendation was custom-​made orthotics (which, surprise, aren’t covered by insurance!). When that didn’t work, he suggested I «wait a few more weeks» to see if the orthotics would start helping.
— Also, for each hour-​long «appointment,» I would have maybe 5 minutes tops with Dr. Kominsky. The rest of it was waiting and getting shuffled around between different office staff/​techs.
Eventually I gave up and moved on to another podiatrist, who actually took the time to listen to my symptoms and correctly diagnose me.

I can’t recommend this office highly enough.
After another local podiatrist crafted me a problematic pair of orthotics, I saw Dr. Kominksy instead. He was easy to schedule an appointment with, took the time to answer all of my questions, and, most importantly, made me a pair of orthotics that work. He occasionally makes himself available at a local running store to help patients pick out new shoes, which was also pretty helpful.
