A survey of a random group of customers ALL vote Jerk@Nite as THE BEST, saying it was better than any other Caribbean food in the city. We serve Jerk Salmon, Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, Tacos white rice, rice and peas, Jerk BBQ Ribs, Rasta Pasta, Whole Wheat any jerked meat lettuce and spinach wraps, Jerk Burgers, Jerked chicken Caesar salads etc.

History

Established in 2014.

Founded by Howard University Alumni, Jerk At Nite is DC’s First Organic Late Night Food Service. Started on the idea that junk food should not be the only option for late night consumers, instead, a healthier option available can make a difference in our community. Since 2014 Jerk At Nite has been delivering the best Jamaican cuisines to you until 2am (or 4am on Saturday).

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I placed an order at midnight on a Wednesday night through Grub Hub. Two hours later this place was not answering the phone from me or Grub Hub. I don’t know what kind of business they run where they just take orders and don’t fulfill them but that kind of service is enough to put anyone off of ever ordering from them for the rest of their lives!!! Horrible Service. I launched a complaint with Grub Hub to have them taken off of their website because they give delivery services like them a BAD name.

I visited the place as an option to eat because I work late nights in the city. I ordered a jerk chicken salad and a side of mac and cheese. The «Salad» was just peppers chicken spinach and dressing. Definitely not the salad that was described on the menu. I ate it because I was hungry though. Next was the mac and cheese which was so disappointing. It looked very thrown together. like someone’s week old leftovers and had some strange kind of red sauce on it. Upon further inspection I found not one. but TWO hairs. I called them back and they said they did not offer refunds only store credit. Now would you really eat from a place were you find multiple hairs in your food? I love supporting small businesses but this was a complete fail. Even more dissapointing is that I can’t get a refund for hair found in my food. $ 13 down the drain.

Only reason I cant give more stars is bc the food takes forever. Waited 2 hours one time and we called multiple times with them saying they were 7 minutes away. Food is great though. Jerk is spicy and seasoned well and the patties are really good too when they aren’t burned. Call me a fly drawn to fire, but I def will order again. Just not when I’m wicked hungry.

Temporarily leaving a 1 star until I try the food. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try the food I ordered. After the food was 30 minutes late I was a little concerned and called Jerk At Night. I was told that they were experiencing technical difficulties and that they weren’t supposed to be delivering until 10:00 PM and shouldn’t have been listed in delivery services. The gentleman was polite about the situation and I look forward to going in person the next time I am craving jerk chicken.

Ordering Jerk At Night when hungry is a poor idea. Ordered at 9:07 it’s now 10:45. You try to support but waiting more than an hour for take out delivery is insane.
Also be sure to pay cash. I’ve tried calling several times to cancel and they won’t pick up the phone.

There is no excuse for failing to deliver, less than 1 mile away, after over 1.5 hours. I gave up, turned off the porch light, and went to bed hungry. Even if the food arrives now it will be far from fresh. I hope that GrubHub grants my refund. Don’t waste your time.

Terrible service. Ordered tacos, took an hour. I called for the status, was told driver was on the way and that he’d be here in 5min. Then I called after waiting 10 mins and they told me I was second in line for delivery. Food never arrived

They make good food and use healthy ingredients, but their delivery sucks. Food can be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour later than the expected delivery time. I want to keep giving them my service, but they seriously need to hire more drivers or account for prep time when giving estimated delivery times.

They got one thing right, «jerk». But I don’t mean in the awesome carribbean way I was hoping to…
I ordered delivery through GrubHub and received confirmation that ETA was 45 – 55 minutes. An hour later, I tried to contact them directly and my calls went straight to voicemail. I hopped on the computer and the GrubHub representative wasn’t able to reach them either but said based on the update, I should have my food any time as it was showing a 12 min delay. I said I would wait a few more minutes to see what was happening.
20 minutes later, still no food. I contacted GrubHub again; the representative said they were able to reach Jerk@Nite, the delivery man was out and I should receive my food at any moment.
10 minutes later, still no food. GrubHub reimbursed me and apologized. Horrible. Now I’m hangry too!

I’ve been ordering from Jerk at Nite since they first started, and the food and service gets better and better! The food was good to start out with but with time it definitely got better! My favorite meal is the Di Yaadie! I love the spice it has and with the rice and spinach as the perfect sides making it a delicious meal! The prices aren’t bad either! Delivery could be a little faster but after you get the food you forget how long it takes! Definitely a must try!

I tried to Jerk at Nite but received no answer when I called and emailed to place the order. The address doesn’t exist, takes you to the middle of Howard U. I guess it’s some students making a quick buck when they can. What would have been nice is if they had replied to my email, even after that evening to apologize and let me know when they’re usually open for business… something. Sadly, there’s a lack of customer service and decorum when people do things because it seems cute, not because they have the sense for business.

I had Di Yaadie and it was very good! Very flavorful, seasoned well. Delivery did take longer than I expected but it was well worth the wait. The food was steaming hot when delivered. This is definitely authentic, true to taste, Jamaican food. You can tell it is made with fresh ingredients. I also tried the Oxtails dish, very tasty!
Only downside was when I ordered a patty one night, it was cold in the middle. It seemed to have not been heated thoroughly. Other than that, I would definitely recommend to others and order here again!
