Both times I’ve gone here my dry cleaning has not been ready on the date they told me to return. Plus, it’s very overpriced — they charged me $ 20 to dry clean one fitted bed sheet! The only good thing I can say about this place is that they haven’t ruined anything.

Overpriced and not friendly. There are too many other dry cleaners in the neighborhood to go back to this one.

I used to talk highly about this establishment until last evening. The gentleman working there used to be nice to me, but last night was just unwilling to even listen to my idea. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, I brought in a Garmento bag that is suppose to reduce the need for plastic covers. I might as well have said gibberish because the gentleman refused it and said«no it has to have the plastic». He then offered to take back all the plastic covers I use, which seemed just as bad. When I told him maybe I should go elsewhere, he had no response and didnt offer any other solution. It really is too bad that they lost me(and at least five other customers that I told this story to). For something as minor as a plastic cover.

Happy Cleaners? Try UNhappy Cleaners. The guy acts as though it’s a major hassle for him to get up and take your clothes when you walk in. I like that they use«natural» products but I don’t like the attitude so I’ll walk 2 blocks over and get better service and less attitude.

The old owners, well represented by Candy, who used to be at the front counter, did a better job than the current owners, who are not scrupulous, to put it mildly, about customer care. They’re often rather short and irritable; moreover, they have sometimes attempted to charge me for things that weren’t really cleanable, due to spots that couldn’t come out. PS, a few years later: the moody guy at the counter most often appears to have no affect whatsoever, except for when he’s grumpy or argumentative. Be forewarned: although they advertise same-day shirt service on their window, the same-day service costs an additional 75 cents.

So I really only ever go here because it is 20 feet from my house. The guy there is reasonably nice, not fantastic with customer service. I feel they’ve overcharged me for alterations in the past but they did repair one once for free with no arguments. Service isn’t totally quick but they’ve never lost or messed up anything of mine and that is better than I can say about a lot of places I have been. I actually like Swift Cleaners better but sometimes saving the two blocks of walking back and forth helps a lot with time.

While I have only used the cleaners a couple of times I feel that out of duty I must patronize them when I can. Owned by Jin and Soo Chung(the drycleaners in the $ 54 million dollar pant’s suit) have owned this Shaw drycleaners for over a decade and are small business owners who should be thanked for their contribution to DC.
