Family Dollar is great for reasonably priced cleaning products and this location was no exception. I was also impressed by how well stocked it is, while remaining well organized and navigable. The staff was polite and professional, and I was able to get in and out of the store pretty quickly. There is a dedicated parking lot next to the building, making this an easy place to get to by car. My only complaint with the store is that they were pretty skimpy on home furnishings. This may be due to size constraints. I was going to get some cheap shelves for a wall, and they didn’t have those here, whereas they’re a standard item at most Family Dollar stores.

This store has really started to improve over the last few months. When I first started coming, not only were the prices not great, neither was the selection, organization of store, or employees. Something changed, and for the better. Located relatively convenient on Rhode Island Ave NE near South Dakota, while it is not near a metro stop, several metro bus stops are next to, and unlike many DC businesses they do have a free parking lot. Right before Christmas they reorganized the store and increased product availability and lowered some prices. While some things like bleach, coffee, socks, tend to be on the pricier side, things like detergent, headphones, batteries, deodorant, body wash, soap, cocoa butter, toothpaste, seem to be priced extremely well. Maybe even better than the local grocery stores. The store is kept much cleaner than in the past and the cashiers are much more efficient and friendly. I hope the store continues to make improvements.

We stopped in to see what they had and what it was like and found it was jammed with lots of food and household items – as it was Tuesday they were re-loading the shelves so it was a bit crowded in the aisles. Only one cashier but she was moving the line quickly and let us know they accepted coupons.
