Specialties
Estrellitas Child Development is a Spanish Immersion program inspired by Montessori principles. We serve families of children ages six weeks to five years old and foster an environment where children feel secure and gain independence as they become confident and proficient speakers of Spanish. Estrellitas Child Development also encourages children to respect themselves, others, and the world around them.
History
Established in 2013.
Newly opening as a Child Development Center Estrellitas was originally founded by Marilyn Medrano in 2008 as Little Stars Child Development. As a new mother, she searched for an early educational setting that was stimulating, nurturing, and safe for her own son. Originally from Argentina, she valued a program that would nurture the Spanish language experience while at the same time give her child space for self-discovery and decision-making. «I looked long and hard and realized that if I wanted these characteristics for my child, I would have to create it myself.» From this idea, Little Stars was born. In just five years, it has provided exemplary care for over thirty children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. «I consider all of the children in my daycare to be my children,» Medrano explains. «And I am proud to say that my children are prospering.» Many alumni of Little Star remain immersed in Spanish speaking settings and attend excellent schools in the region, in
