Deeba did a wonderful job taking our wedding photos– we had a small civil ceremony and he perfectly captured the intimacy and joy of the day as well as taking beautiful portrait shots. We’ve received a ton of compliments on the beautiful photos. He is extremely professional and easy to work with and was able to send us the finished photos in just a few days. We also appreciated that he made all the photos available online for quick viewing, sharing, and downloading. I thoroughly recommend Deeba!

We selected Deeba as the photographer for our engagement session and I’m so glad we did! I stumbled across his website randomly, and fell in love with his pictures. He was very quick to respond to all my emails and questions.
On the day of the shoot, he showed up early for our session. He was very professional, conversational, and efficient. He definitely knows how to do his job and do it very well.
Our pictures were sent to us very quickly, and they were BEAUTIFUL. Deeba has a great eye for light, angles, and colors. Our only problem is we have too many photos we love!

Two days of a crazy, multi-​cultural, chaotic wedding celebration– and Deeba caught it all perfectly. We just got our photos back last night, and my fiancé and I truly couldn’t believe how well Deeba told the story of our wedding and caught every big moment and conveyed each emotion. He and the second shooter (Deeba rightfully recommended we have one with our 200+ guest count), Devon, had such a great approach to photographing our wedding and capturing everything while barely being noticed. They employed the perfect combination of portraits and candids and the end result was so beautiful. We are so thrilled that we found him (thanks to Unilocal!).
Beyond his awesome photography, Deeba was by far the most organized vendor to work with before and after the wedding. Quick to respond to my crazy questions and with a clear system in place to document exactly what you want, and deliver. When you’re planning a multi-​day wedding (or a single-​day wedding, at that) you really don’t want to worry about someone unreliable or stressful– and trust me, we had those, too– so it was great working with someone we trusted throughout the process. I can’t recommend him enough.

I can’t say enough good things about Deeba’s eye for detail and gorgeous photos that look natural and unstaged. My husband and I renewed our vows and although we didn’t want to replicate our wedding, it was important to have a quality photographer capture the moment. And Deeba delivered beautifully. My wife and I had a small, courthouse wedding with not too much fuzz, but one thing we did care about was having a good set of photos as memories of the event. Deeba did an absolute great job at that. Pictures are beautifully composed and, just as we wanted, very natural. Deeba strove to figure exactly what we wanted out of the photos and how to accomodate it. He is very professional and very easy to work with. It was great working with him and would definitely recommend him.

Deeba was incredible! With only 5 days notice we worked out a plan to surprise my now fiancée by the Lincoln Memorial. There were so many ways it could have gone horribly wrong (my fiancée was an hour late for our run, I was not wearing the clothes I said I would be wearing), but Deeba was incredibly professional and was attentively waiting by the monument for the big moment. He sprung into action when I arrived (with only non-​verbal cues) and was able to navigate the crowded area to snap several amazing shots. We have been universally told how amazing the photograph is that we get to keep forever. Deeba made the moment even better than I had imagined. He then was able to send me about 20 touched up photos in under 2 hours in time for the engagement party. Highly, Highly recommend.

We booked Deeba for our wedding in May and he was fantastic. We loved his «behind the scenes» style and thought that the photos turned out beautiful! He is extremely easy and professional to work with and we would highly recommend him for an event or photo session.

We booked a couples session with Deeba during a recent vacation to DC. He was professional and made us feel comfortable, and we thought his photos were fantastic. Deeba was a great photographer. He delivered exactly what we wanted and at a reasonable price. He was on time for all of our meetings, patient when answering our questions and took all of the photos we had on our must have list. I would highly recommend booking him for all of your photo needs!

We had a wonderful experience with Deeba. We hired him on a Monday or Tuesday for a wedding the coming Sunday (I know, a bit last minute!). He was very flexible and accommodating. The day of the wedding, he arrived at the time he said he would and immediately set to business. One thing I really appreciated about Deeba was that he was so nice and calm! He never rushed us and was willing to do anything (including take shots outside in the freezing cold and snow, although I eventually decided that I didn’t want to be outside anyway!). He was with us for about 3 – 4 hours and after about 3 weeks, provided us with 360 beautiful photos. He captured many wonderful moments in really unique and authentic ways. I love the candid photos and the posed family photos. He took some adorable photos of our friends’ baby and lots of great ones of our friends and family. He has a great eye! Very happy with the experience and the results… absolutely recommend Deeba!

My groom lived in Italy and I had to do the entire wedding planning on my own so I felt overwhelmed with the choices and prices. Because I had been part of weddings where the photographers were loud and rude, I made sure to interview each vendor. Thanks to Unilocal,I contacted Deeba and he was willing to meet with me on short notice.
I met with Deeba prior to signing a contract with him. From the very beginning, he seemed polite and professional without the arrogance that other photographers I met had. Planning a wedding is time consuming and I came to really appreciate Deeba for his quietly efficient and artistic abilities. Also important, his pricing was affordable and the packages he provided were not set in stone.
Due to my work, I did most of communications with him via email. I was impressed by the carefully crafted electronic contract that detailed exactly what we had agreed on. It was easy to fill, edit safe and email back.
Due to the distance between the groom and I, we had to forgo any engagement pictures and Deeba gladly traded that for a printed high-​quality album. This solidified the deal because it showed his willingness to cooperate.
On the day of the wedding, Deeba and Devan arrived at the agreed time to start shooting. The bride and groom were getting ready in different locations. The photos prior to the ceremony and first look were very tasteful. He was not invasive or bossy with the posing, my family seemed to take care of the directions, as expected. During the wedding, the photographers captured all the good details, some pictures made us laugh out loud and tear up. From the moment my dad helped my out the limo, to the groom’s first look, to the ring-bearer’s full display to the audience, he got it all. Think candid yet refined. The black and white picture left us breathless!
During the reception, the photographers captured great moments too, which included great sequences of dance moves that look almost like a motion picture. We went table by table greeting all guest and taking pictures with them. They even got shots of the bride and groom posing for the photobooth with our closest friends.
The only hiccup was a small delay on receiving the printed work. All was solved and we are very pleased with the results.

Several weeks ago my fiancé and I did a photoshoot with Deeba for our engagement photos. The shoot was comfortable and fun. He was very knowledgable and has a keen eye for angles and natural takes. If you are looking for a photographer that you can trust very quickly then Deeba is your man. My family and friends are still blown away by our pictures– Lots of tears! Thanks DEEBA!!!

My fiancé and I recently got engaged and set a date in just 9 short months. We wanted to get our engagement photos taken right away to ensure time to mail out the Save-​The– Dates. Deeba was flexible with our schedule, making the initial planning of the session stress free. The photo shoot was perfect. Just long enough to get a lot of wonderful, candid photos. Deeba was also very good about getting our photos back to us quickly. Very much appreciated his work and absolutely thrilled with the photos!

Deeba photographed my wedding this past August in Annapolis, MD. His work speaks for itself! Beautiful pictures that captured our big day so perfectly. I feel like I am reliving my wedding day every time I look through the pictures. He was a pleasure to work with and suggested wonderful ideas to my husband and I who are perhaps the less educated wedding planners. I am writing this review for Donya Photography because I wanted everyone to know how amazing Deeba is as a photographer. His work on my Traditional Vietnamese Engagement Ceremony has brought so much pride and joy to me and my family.
The Traditional Tea Ceremony is a series of events, that is full of customs and colors, unfolding within a 40 – 45 mins time frame. The photographer has to be quick thinking on his feet in order to capture those intimate moments unraveling in front of him/​her. On top of that, he/​she has to have an intimate knowledge of the procedure as well. And Deeba did exactly just that. And all that was given to him was a written procedure from me about a month before the event. That is the true mark of a professional.
As for the quality of Deeba’s work, I couldn’t be any happier. We love his photo-​journalistic approach. Every single picture looks so natural and is full of energy and emotion. It feels like he was documenting our event for a newspaper or magazine.
And finally, the best part about having Deeba as your photographer on your special day is that you will barely notice that he is there. He is not the type that will try to take charge and create shots just for the sake of doing it. He is more the type that stays behind the scenes and be as unobtrusive as possible. That is why most of his pictures have such an organic feel to it.
In general, if you would like someone who is pleasant, humble, and unobtrusive to be the person that capture all of your intimate moments on your special day, Deeba from Donya Photography is your answer.

Deeba was my wedding photographer (with an assistant) this August in Oakland, California. I just put together my album and am delighted with the results! There was a lot of chaos surrounding our wedding — in part because half our guests came from abroad — and I barely gave Deeba any directions to work with and hardly talked to him at all on the day — in hindsight I’d recommend if you’re getting married have a think about who/​what you want photos of and give some direction! Anyhow — we were quite lucky with the results and have a nice blend of portraits and candid shots. We were on a tight budget and I found that you get a lot for your money with Deeba — and that is rare to come by when it comes to wedding expenses! Anyhow he totally went with the flow, and I will also say that during the ceremony I was hardly aware of him yet he captured it from every angle — which is exactly what you want. My other bit of advice — if you have a wedding with more than 100 people it really does take two photographers so consider that.

Finding the right photographer for my wedding was a huge priority for me. I browsed TheKnot, looked up my friend’s wedding photographers, and even ventured onto Craigslist. I wanted someone that would capture the moments, not set us up in awkward poses and snap away. I was so pleasantly surprised when I came across Deeba’s portfolios online. Everything looked perfect. We had Deeba take our engagement photos and were super pleased with how they turned out. He did not disappoint at the wedding either. Captured some AMAZING shots that me and my family will cherish for the rest of our lives, you kinda can’t repay someone for that. Speaking of payment, way affordable. I wanted a custom package, and he designed a package that fit my needs and budget. Will definitely be using Deeba in the future!

Donya Photography did an excellent job at my wedding! I loved all the photos. The style of photography, as others have mentioned, is more candid, which I like.
They were also extremely reasonable, probably one of the best deals around the area. This really helped us keep under budget for our wedding — which can be quite difficult to do! You won’t be sacrificing quality with price.
