Great price and great pizza for Georgetown. Not much atmosphere when eating indoors, so it’s best to take out and eat by the ice skating rink or down by the dock.

Gave me the wrong order and tried to play it off instead of apologizing or refunding me. Food is average.

Good food at a cheap price! Everything in the immediate area cost at least 3 times as much

This review is for Café Cantina’s pizza. The biggest problem was the sauce: thick and very acidic. A bite into the slice sent sauce spraying all over the place. Gross. To be fair, the bottom of the crust did have some slight crispiness, but the quality of the sauce, cheese, and toppings was definitely rock bottom. If you’re gonna take in this many calories, at least make it an enjoyable experience. Avoid.

Why is the veggie taco such a lost art? It would seem really simple to put some decent black beans, some lettuce, and some quality shredded cheese into a flavorful corn shell and present it at a decent price. But hardly anywhere seems willing or able to do it! Except this one. And for that alone, it has my devotion. Perhaps restaurants are afraid to put together something so messy. Especially in Georgetown. I guess they don’t want Tucker Carlson to get black bean residue on his bow tie or something. But this place is not fearful of offending. They slap on the black beans heavily and the taco inevitably falls apart. But the black, goopy mess with a lot of cheese swimming in it that these tacos leave on the simple trays is delicious. And despite its expensive neighborhoods at Georgetown Harbor, Café Cantina prices these bits of joy to fly out the door. For about $ 5.00, two of them filled me up nicely. I’m not sure $ 5.00 will get someone a soda at most of the places in Georgetown Harbor. Mind you, they taste like something I could make at home. But I take that as part of their charm. There are a hundred«better» restaurants in Georgetown to eat at. But I bet they would screw up something as simply as a veggie taco or a slice of New York pizza while trying to be fancy. This place nails them.

Don’t think this place will win an award anytime soon, and the New Yorker tells me this isn’t a real pizza place every time I walk in. Where can you buy tacos AND a pizza? That being said, this nothing-special place is a great option when you are looking for a quick lunch. The pizza was a step up from Papa Johns, but no by much. The crust is thinner than your typical Domino’s or Papa John’s, but still doesn’t quite meet the«NY style thin crust» criteria. The sauce was very flavorful and, though you can tell that the cheese isn’t great quality, it isn’t terrible either. I have only sampled the pizza to date, but I was surprised at how busy this place was at lunchtime. People ordered pizza by the slice, tacos, and salads while I was there. The place offers a variety of pizzas ranging from $ 2.75 to $ 3.75ish per slice(or $ 15 for a pie). Pies included veggie, meat lovers, mushroom, pepperoni, plain, and one other option.

yes I have had Pizza Authentica just cardboard with no taste. Café Cantina’s PIZZA is the BOMB. I had the tacos first a co-worker introduced me to the tacos loaded with MEAT but their PIZZA is absolutely delish!!! and they also serve Hershey Ice cream.

Would not recommend the wraps. Ordered a vegetarian wrap and a buffalo chicken wrap. Vegetarian wrap listed beans as the primary ingredient and mine did not include any. Both wraps were missing primary ingredients listed on their menu and were filled with 75% lettuce.

Can it be? I finally found semi-decent pizza in DC? Yep. My pepperoni slice and Welch’s grape soda(still a Philly fruity soda loving girl) cost me a little over $ 4. Granted I would’ve much rather spent that money on a slice of Lorenzo’s, but I will not do the 2 ½ hour drive for it. Insider tip: Friend of mine that has been there many times said the rest of the food is «eh» compared to the«mmm» pizza.

Café Cantina is a definite«yay» in my book. I’m sure it’s not the best pizza in all of DC but, working right across the street, a slice of pizza is a great lunch bet when i feel like indulging. They have the normal variety of toppings(you’re not going to find anything new here), and although they have a side with tacos, salads, and sandwiches the pizza gets me every time. this is your standard thinner crust, super greasy pizza. i’ve even heard my boss remark that«this is the best pizza outside of NY.»

The fact that this spot was open at a late hour was a plus in my book. Additionally, it is situated inside of the beautiful Georgetown Habour complex. Add to that, the pizza slices were good to the taste. How I judge whether a pizza place passes my test is if I eat the crust and enjoy it. Café Cantina gets my passing grade. I will be making a return trip.

This place is basically a lunch dive for office workers, construction workers and tourists with kids(or tourists who are kids) who come down to look at the waterfront. It serves tacos and burritos on one side and pizza on the other side. It is no-frills but the staff are nice and the food, while it won’t win any Michelin awards, is surprisingly decent for a lunch dive. The pizza crust is among the better takeout pizza I’ve had in Georgetown. Not great, but better(and cheaper). It’s best when served hot out of the oven at lunch. If you come later the pizza will have been sitting around and will need to be put through the oven again which to me makes it all a little unfresh. On the taco/burrito side, you can get pretty decent black bean/cheese/veggie tacos and burritos. They have meat options too but I usually skip the meat because I prefer the beans. Like the person below I also recommend you skip the guacamole — I usually love that stuff but for some reason theirs tastes«off». The other ingredients taste Ok. If you order a «taco» you actually get three stuffed hard shell tacos and all for under five bucks! That’s a pretty good bargain anywhere but when you consider you’re in Georgetown at the waterfront no less, it is amazing. If you order a «taco salad» you get more like some version of nachos without the nacho cheese, which is pretty good except their tortilla chips are kinda stale. I hope this place stays around as I don’t want to see it replaced by a Pizza Hut, Taco Hell or Chipotle which will serve ickier, chain-restaurant versions of the same thing.

My guilty-pleasure lunch place down at the harbor. It’s a strange, multiple personality joint. Left side is the Cantina — burritos, wraps, salads. Right side is the Café — pizza and calzones, etc. Pretty darn good pizza-by-the-slice — usually hot out of the oven at lunchtime, but if it’s not, they stick it back in for a minute so your piece is hot. Watch out for the puddle of grease — if you blot it off, you can actually taste the pizza. I usually end up on the Cantina side, getting a vegetarian wrap with black beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Not as good as Chipotle, but still pretty good. Just DON’T get the guacamole — I suspect it’s reconstituted from powder or something, and it is horrifically salty. Another regular item I get is the Chicken Taco salad. Lots of lettuce and tomato with chicken pieces and cheese. Get the sour cream instead of the guacamole if you need something goopy. But it comes with tortilla chips and a container of salsa(which is suspiciously like Pace Picante). $ 5.75. I know this doesn’t sound like a glowing review, and that would be because I don’t glow after eating here. But I am full, and I didn’t spend a fortune. And sometimes, I go next door and get ice cream and stare at the waterfront.
