Amidon -Greenleaf Playground

An interesting urban park in the heart of the waterfront area of DC. The neighborhood itself seems to be improving (obvious signs of gentrification everywhere such as upscale condos and an elaborate shopping plaza). From what I observed from my time walking in and around the park, it’s pretty well maintained with the fields crisp green and cut down consistently. I saw neighborhood kids playing baseball and chasing each other all over the grassy field. The play structure itself can use a bit of updating, but overall, for what it’s worth, it’s a nice urban playground that is an oasis for a sprawling neighborhood.
I can envision many families enjoying a nice picnic under the sun on a warm Spring day. However, parking can be a bit of a challenge since most, if not all spots along the perimeter of the park are occupied by residents.
