I have been going here for about three years now, and I have generally had a good experience. The office is clean and the front desk staff is nice. The dentists are great. I’ve gotten three different ones over the years and they’ve all been professional, knowledgeable and very nice. You can tell that they’re used to people who aren’t big fans of going to the dentist, as they try to tell you everything that’s going on (even for just a simple cleaning) and will check up on you and ask you how you’re doing a few times during your visit.
I did experience one hiccup with them when I switched my insurance carrier. I called on a weekday before my appointment to let them know about this change, and I was told they had all the information they needed. When I went to my appointment that Saturday, however, I was told that they didn’t have my insurance information and that they wouldn’t be able to verify my insurance because it was a Saturday. The receptionist was apologetic and very sweet which helped, but it was still a frustrating experience.
Tip: the earlier you go, the more likely you are to be seen on time. I try to go as early as possible, as I have had hour long waits when going in the afternoon, including a 2:00pm appointment where I wasn’t seen until 3:30pm.

I changed insurance about 6 months ago and ended up going to this this Dentist because they were on my new plan. I went for a regular cleaning and I was extremely surprised to learn that flossing was not part of their cleaning. This is the first dentist I have ever been to that didn’t include flossing as part of their cleaning. I ask around to friends and no one has ever been to a dentist that didn’t floss. I specifically asked if today if this is something that they would change and they sad that flossing isn’t part of their regular procedures.
As a result, I don’t have confidence in them and am going to immediately find a new dentist.

There is a $ 50 fee if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, so be careful! Fortunately, they gave me a ring two days in advance to confirm my appointment. However, there was a mix up with the time, but they were able to see me 1.5 hours after my original appointment which was nice.
The office isn’t exactly fancy, but it’s clean and the folks that work there are helpful. The girl at the front desk made sure my insurance was accepted before I was seen, and she was very kind in helping me through the appointment mix up. The hygienist was nice — not the friendliest — but she did what she needed to quickly and painlessly. The male dentist I saw was … easy on the eyes … very kind, and made an effort to explain to me what he saw in the X-​Rays.
Three stars because of
— The appointment mixup, and the fact that I had to wait 30 extra minutes after the time I was told I’d be seen.
— The ‘cold’ feeling in the office. It’s pretty bare bones right now, and could really benefit from a few pictures, new chairs, magazines, etc.
I plan to return for a check-​up in 6 months, and hope that these few things improve and I can up my review to 4 stars. This is a convenient location for a dentist, and they do their jobs well. However, I think people hate the dentist enough to start with, so making the first impression a bit better would go a long way.

Take your business elsewhere. This was my first time coming to this place. The first thing that seemed off to me was that the office has a terribly musky smell. I came for an appointment I made weeks in advance and sat for 1.5 HOURS without being seen. A man with an appointment 30 mins after me was seen before me. My boyfriend was seen (45 mins later than appt time) and he came out to see me still waiting. I was so angry at that point that I told them to cancel my appointment. No respect for your time at all and incapable staff.

Paying it forward since I found them with the help of Unilocal.Had my first visit yesterday and the visit went great. Had a bit of a wait to be seen but not too bad given that there was only one dentist in the office. The staff is very professional and friendly. I found Dr. Akhlaghi very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. Contrary to other dentists I’ve seen, she did not push additional treatments. She made a very clear treatment plan and made me extremely at ease during the dental cleaning. Major plus is that they have Saturday and Sunday appointments. Fully bilingual. So far, no issues with my insurance. Definitely recommend.

These guys are extremely professional and know their stuff. Another reviewer said that they dont beat you up about flossing — that is definitely true. I saw that another reviewer said something about insurance scamming… I dont know what happened there, but I have insurance and have never had any problems. They are just wonderful. They speak Spanish fluently. Parking is free for two hours if you go back into the neighborhoods. Their technology is top of the line.
I wish I could give them a 4.5 stars, though, because they do tend to run late in the afternoons.

Dr. Akhlaghi is simply engaged in insurance FRAUD. She is extremely unprofessional. When making an appointment over the phone, she will claim that she accepts a certain insurance. However, once one is on the dental chair she will ask for an outrageous price knowing one is less likely to refuse as they are already on the chair. She will Charge you a very high self pay price even when you have insurance claiming that she is unable to get a hold of someone at the insurance company to determine coverage. She will also engage in unprofessional personal phone call during the procedure. AVOID AT ALL COSTS FOR ANY DENTAL WORK. HER LICENSE SHOULD BE REVOKED.
SHE GIVES DENTISTS A BAD NAME.

I have gone to many dentists and probably have high expectations. However, I do not believe that these guys do a thorough cleaning. First of all, I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen! They double booked appointments. I waited longer than my appointment lasted! They do have new equipment and the office is clean. But, on the other hand, they did not floss my teeth, or use any of the tools dentists usually use. He just used one with a lot of water. I have to go to another dentist just to feel like my teeth got a cleaning!

Yes these guys get 5 stars. I have never had a bad experience here. I go for my 6 month check-​up routinely and the staff is pleasant, understanding when you need to reschedule, welcoming and everyone is bilingual. Not that I am, but still. I find that the dentists are very professional and tell you everything they are doing, making you feel comfortable and relaxed even though their hands are in your mouth. They don’t hound you like your mother about flossing, but remind you like an adult. Top notch dental practice.

Was hesitant at first because of neighborhood, but once you step into the office, it’s another world. Very clean, modern technology. I didnt have to wait at all. I called in and said i would be 30 mins late and asked if i should reschedule. They said it’s ok, to just come in and i didnt have to wait. Staff was extremely attentive and cleaned my teeth carefully. I’ve been to expensive dentist offices in downtown DC that charge an arm and a leg, even with insurance, but this place was inexpensive and measures up to those more expensive one. Highly recommend.

Having had a not so good experience with my last dentist, this was a nice relief. Friendly staff, clean premises with up to date technology, and most importantly, the cheapest first visit (check up, cleaning, and x-​ray) of any place in town that I found — just $ 105. For someone without insurance, this was a big plus. The only downside was a bit of a wait, even though I had an appointment.

I went here because I live across the street and was hesitant to go at first because there were no reviews, but it turned out to be a really good place. Brand new equipment, clean environment, convenient appointment times, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Recommended.
