Don’t try to use any coupons here. They do not participate. Received a coupon for a Pepsi product and they refused to take it.

You all know what to expect from 7-Eleven, so I’m just commenting on this location as compared to others. The less-than-friendly manager is more than happy to refuse to accept 7-Eleven promotions, so don’t go out of your way to redeem anything here. She also hid her name tag when I wanted to complain about her customer service. The lotto machine is always conveniently not working for cashing in tickets either. The late night employees are a bit more friendly.

There are a few deeply philosophical questions of the ages that are best left unknown. At the top of this list for me is «why is this Seven Eleven the best Seven Eleven in the world?» Well, it just is. And why is the woman that keeps the big bites and toquitos fresh such a good cook and dedicated? She just is. Why is the man behind the counter so friendly and polite? He just is. And why does this Seven Eleven have the largest selection of Slurpees ever? It just does. Enough said.

Time spent walking around the National Zoo = 2 ½ hours Price of a ¼lb Hot Dog and Big Gulp = $ 2.48($ 1.99 + 0.49 Promotion) Time it took me to negate whatever calories I burned = 2 minutes This 7-Eleven is right across the street from the National Zoo, so load up before or after going in.

Wings are pretty cheap(relatively) and it’s right across from the Zoo. I recommend going there to eat instead of buying the expensive Zoo food. Be warned, buying 12 wings is actually cheaper than buying 20 wings. The bbq wings had little to no flavor although they were large and juicy. They had lots of different kinds of hotdogs and sausages available, and free chili and cheese too. The employees are pretty nice and efficient.

Located just outside the National Zoo’s entry, come here to grab a bottle of water, chips, wings(great deal for $ 6 you get 12 wings), drinks, sandwiches and more. The asian wings are decent, the BBQ are okay. There are spicy and other wings, too. You can get the six and six split if you want of the 12-pack of wings. The hot dogs here, of course, are good, standard, and free chili(watery), cheese, and come in two if you want for $ 2.50. Much cheaper than the food in the zoo, albeit of a different kind.

They have sugarfree Slurpees. And for $ 1.19? There is no better respite from the throng of sticky, screaming little children at the Zoo across the street. Sure, the apple-mango flavor is 100% artificial and a shade of orange that might nearly blind you. But so, so good.

Like Cathedral Liquors next door, it’s nice to have around if you’re in the neighborhood, but there are better 7-Elevens out there. The selection is less than what you would expect, and there is a large bare wall in one corner by the coffee and hot dogs. I’m not sure what they would put there, but every time I see it makes me feel like something is lacking. Still, it’s much better than what used to be there, and it usually has something I need when I’m hankering for some frozen food or a Red Bull. I only went to the previous incarnation once, but it used to look kind of grimey and poorly stocked.
