History

Established in 1971.

Single Source was started in 1971 as Smoke Clean of New England by Sumner Pomeranz and was located on Charles St. in Providence, RI. Sumner’s son Jack Pomeranz became President in the early 1980’s and Smoke Clean became the preferred disaster restoration company to most of the major insurance carriers throughout Southeastern New England. In the late 1990’s, Smoke Clean expanded into the Massachusetts market by opening a location run by Jack’s brother, Joel Pomeranz. In 2004, Jack’s son Mike Pomeranz worked with Jack to grow the business by diversifying the restoration services and adding Bio-​hazard cleanup, Asbestos abatement and Full Reconstruction services. In 2012, Smoke Clean of New England was re-​branded into Single Source Disaster Recovery Specialists due to the multitude of services that were now offered. Single Source Disaster Recovery Specialists is now the preferred choice for insurance carriers and property owners throughout New England.
