Inskip Autocenter

We were having problems with our Nissian, running rough. So being one of the members of Over the 100K mile club, i.e. get another 10% off the bill, my wife took it to Inskip, or what was Inskip. They charged her $ 100 for a free test, never even took the 10% off then said its $ 300 to open the engine up to attempt to determine the problem. I found that strange since I was quoted $ 250 to replace the plugs which the engine must also be opened up. I should note the $ 250 also included the price of the new Iridium plugs.
So why the increase, was it because my wife is an elderly woman, I think that is part of it. There was no explanation of the problem, just the car will self destruct if you don’t pay the money for us to fix it. When you are on a fixed income $ 300 is a lot of money, at least to us, maybe not to them.

I recently leased my new car from Inskip Nissan from Guy Clark. He was the most pleasant sales man I had come across in my searching for a new vehicle. Not only was he kind and professional, but also respectful and did not pressure me, which is common theme with car sales people. I have noticed, as a young woman searching for a car, many salesmen tend to underestimate my intelligence and seriousness of the visit. Guy did none of that, he was very thorough with all aspects of the lease, and was very honest. Guy stayed later than his scheduled time to meet with my sister and I to make the sale. It should be noted to the company that he deserves a lot of credit for all of his time and effort. Thanks Guy! :)

Oh, how I want to rate Inskip higher. I… just…can’t.
I’ve been going to Inskip for about 3 years. Now, taken into the types of cars they sell in this giant campus of a car dealership, you have to expect some things:
1) Fabulous customer service: CHECK
2) Clean, appealing showrooms: CHECK
3) Outrageous service prices: CHECK
I should note that I don’t drive a «luxury» vehicle — I have a Mini Cooper (okay, okay you can argue it’s technically produced by BMW but that’s a whole other issue). Anyway, the service guys at Mini range from amazing to decent to «Oh my god this guy is annoying». I won’t name names, but there are individuals who clearly want to help their customers, and others who couldn’t care less. And even despite this, the service is not really my biggest gripe.
It’s cost. My Mini needed a fairly routine service (but something that was not covered by my warranty — more of a wear and tear type of thing). Anyway, I went to pick up my car and I was charged over $ 200. Naïve but skeptical, I paid the money and contacted my friend who runs a local automotive shop who quoted me as a person off the street $ 115 for the exact same service.
(By the way, that $ 200 Inskip charged me included a «loyalty» discount or something ridiculous like that. Wow, thanks Inskip!)
I’m still bound to Inskip for the next few months to a year as my car is still under warranty and I don’t feel like paying for anything out of pocket that I shouldn’t be. That said, when my odometer hits 50,001 I’m heading elsewhere.

My first Infiniti! I love it and the process couldn’t have been any easier. Sal Hansford took really good care of me and I love how detail conscious they all are at Inskip.
