History
Established in 1985.
After sustaining a back injury in the early 1980’s, Dr. Richard Klein knew that if he were to continue doing general dentistry he would put further strain on his back. He continued education in dysfunctions of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and opened Michigan Head & Neck Institute in 1985, as most TMJ symptoms present in areas of the head and neck. Since Dr. Klein had dealt with pain from his own injury, he has a passion for improving the health and quality of life for others in pain.
After even more education, Dr. Klein later added the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea to the services offered by Michigan Head & Neck Institute. Now, TMJ dysfunctions and obstructive sleep apnea are the only two disorders treated by Dr. Klein at MHNI as there is an increasing need for such treatments.
