$ 6 for a hot dog and crappy chips!!! Really Blount? Get it together! And it’s $ 4.50 for six clam cakes!!! Why are the hot dogs so special? I don’t get it. The beer is too expensive too. Don’t bother. Go to Iggy’s instead.

Well, I must say on a day like to today (75 degrees) you just can’t beat the atmosphere, view next to the water and a Lobster roll with clams cakes on your plate. The food was just as you would expect from a place which has a location next to the water. Perfect!!! I definitely would recommend it.

I love coming to this place. Food is always good and tasty. It’s my go to when I need Clam Cakes and Chowda!!!

The owner gave me a gift card for the last problem we had with our order for the full price of what we had purchased… not just the price of the wrong items! Way to save a customer and provide excellent customer service!

My BF and I hopped in the car for an unplanned road trip and found ourselves in RI. Using my trusty Unilocal app to find a place for lunch, we came upon Blount Clam Shack and could not have been more pleased.
On the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, with temps in the high 80’s, bright blue skies and a refreshing breeze, we could not have found a better location for lunch. Loads of picnic tables both under a tent and with umbrellas along with Adirondack chairs lining the channel, seating is plentiful. The small lobster roll I ordered was stuffed with a ton of fresh claw meat and served with a choice of sides. The homemade chips I went with were greasy, crispy goodness and went perfectly with the lobster. My BF ordered the spicy fish wrap and while it definitely delivered on the spicy (and tasty) it was a little light on the fish, still very good. We also each ordered a clam cake after seeing all the positive reviews and were not disappointed, though I liked mine more than he did. The cake part was light and fluffy and had great clam flavor.
Devouring all of this with a few cold beers, while a musician with a guitar played any and every song you would want to hear on a beautiful summer day, made for a fantastic afternoon. Absolutely worth taking a road trip for!

My cousin and her hubs took us here after learning that we love seafood for our first meal after we arrived in RI. This place is awesome~~
The weather was perfect for outdoor dining and the umbrellas shielded us from the sun. View was of the marina and the water, so really lovely setting for a casual dining experience.
We ordered Clam chowder + 6 clam cakes (donuts with clam pieces in it) combo as appetizer and a lobster roll & scallop roll as entrée. It was a LOT of food!
I got the butter on the side so my lobster roll was just filled with nice pieces of lobster on a piece of lettuce in a toasted bun. DELICIOUS! the lobster meat was tender, and not over cooked. I think I do wish for a teeny bit of mayo but who doesn’t like regular old lobster meat pieces w/​o having to work for it? Not complaining. The bf didn’t even offer to share his scallop sandwich before it got devoured so it must have been really good. The clam cake is nice and fluffy and even though I don’t really like clams, I loved the dough. When dunked in the clam chowder, it was a match made in heaven. I wish I had more stomach space to eat more but I couldn’t after my ½ lb of lobster meat. The new england clam chowder was great too.

Can’t say enough about this venue. Dropped by occasionally from EAST BAY BIKE PATH in the past but, now that I’ve moved to Warren, it’s, at least, a weekly visit. SEASONAL Venue, only weekends after Labor Day.
CLAMS, whole and strips, SCALLOPS, LOBSTER, CHOWDER, CLAM CAKES, FISH & CHIPS, with burger and chicken sandwiches for those who choose not to indulge. Beers, wine, Sangria and an array of fill-​it-​yourself soft drinks. I especially like the availability of club soda for when I’m trying to be healthy with my fried fish.
Picnic tables arrayed under a large tent with several Aderondak chair/​table arrangements facing the water so you can have a Gansett TallBoy or Sam Summer while you watch the boats on the Warren River. Blount is my first stop after picking up my visiting children at the airport. A warning though, 16 month old grand children prefer to eat the crushed clam shell flooring than the actual clams. Clam cakes dipped in chowder are better received.
The venue is PET FRIENDLY DOG FRIENDLY, kind of like eating in your own back yard.
Drawback: restrooms are only port-​o-​johns since it’s only a seasonal venue.
Can be pricy if you get greedy and want to sample everything, which first timers seem to want to do.
Accessible from EAST BAY BIKE PATH, easiest access to Water Street is through the park, baseball field, town beach, band shell about 200 yards south of the protected crosswalk on Main Syreet.

Great view, good atmosphere but disappointed with the «whole belly clams» that were just clam strips. Have had better whole belly clams in Florida sadly

Live music and great food on the water while watching the sunset. That was my experience tonight while at Blount’s Clam shack. I tried a little bit of everything while here so let me break it down.
The New England clam chowder — creamy, flavorful, and full of clams. Must try!
The clam cakes — fluffy and had a good amount of clams. You’ll be missing out if you don’t try these!
Fish ‘n chips — I myself got the child’s size fish ‘n chips and I thought it was a great portion. Especially since I was trying other foods.
The stuffie — I loved it and found it to be full of flavor and with chock full of clams.
Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for traditional New England seafood. Everything was delicious!

Lobster bisque + 3 clam cakes for 5.99 (comes out to like 6.50 with tax). Very filling meal and you can order this from the express line which makes it quicker. The location is all outdoor seating right on the water which gives a nice ambience. I tried both the white clam chowder and the lobster bisque and I liked both. I opted for the creamy lobster bisque since it has a natural sweetness that balances out the slightly overly salty clam cakes. The clam cakes were a bit larger than golf balls and were crisp on the outside and nice and soft/​pillowy on the inside — a little too salty for my taste, but it complimented the bisque well. I’d definitely come again if I were in the area!

Great food here! It was moderately crowded on a Saturday afternoon and took about 15 min to get my food. Workers were friendly and seating was plantiful but almost full.
1. Clam chowder — average tasting but delicious. It was salty since I was water seeking after I left the place. There’s an average amount of clams in it but I feel like I have had better elsewhere. This one is cream based.
2. Lobster roll — simply delicious! Thick meat and fresh tasting. Must’ve been fresh because I’m usually allergic to lobster but this time I didn’t get a reaction at all. A bit pricy but we’ll worth it in my opinion. They sure give you enough lobster.
Overall, I’d come back for more food if I’m in the area again.

When I was a kid growing up in Warren, there was a place on Water Street called Sousa’s. It was a real shack located on the water with a white shell driveway. We would ride our bikes there, buy a bag of clam cakes for 50 cents, load them with salt, vinegar and ketchup and eat them with our feet dangling from the dock overlooking the Warren river.
Sousa’s was a «Clam Shack».
Blount Clam Shack… ahhhhhh…not so much. The CONCEPT is in place with their location on the Warren River, complete with the white shell car lot. Unfortunately, the business has exploded this Summer. So if you go there, you will wait in line for half an hour while the overworked staff of high school aged employees fumble with each order they take. Then you might have to wait for 45 minutes, like my wife and I did, for your obscene vibrating disk to flash. Finally, as you might guess, your order could be a «version» of what you had in mind.
I must say I was amused that the Blounts hired a charming young man from Great Britain to walk around and calm the crowd while they wait for their food. Really nice kid… too bad I couldn’t snap my fingers and turn him into a dozen clam cakes and two bowls of chowder.
The prices aren’t so «clam shack» like, but they are fair. You can still get three clam cakes and a bowl of chowder for $ 5.99. While the food won’t knock you out of your chair, it does give you that good, old fashioned, fried seafood experience.
But if you are like me, the crowd, the vibrating disk, the long lines and the long wait will have you so stressed out by the time you eat, that you will have long forgotten those «lazy summer daze» at Sousa’s.
Perhaps Blount Inc should consider opening a «New England Clam Shack» Pavilion at Disney World. There is really good money in that.

Great summer experience! Best scallop roll ever — scallops were sweet, succulent and not the least bit greasy. Two sizes of lobster rolls and your choice of dill mayo or warm butter for either. The clam cakes ACTUALLY HAVE CLAMS in them! Hot, fresh and delicious.
Plenty of seating and plenty of parking. The line can be long, but it moves pretty quickly, and there’s live music on many evenings.

Wonderful shack! The lobster roll is to die for. Fresh fresh fresh and big chunks of lobster. The clam chowder is wonderful and one of our favorites. Such nice employees and amazing atmosphere right on the water. There’s a kiss menu which is great!

Oh My View and Food!!! This is a perfect spot for lunch or dinner and it is a even better spot to bring the family on summer evenings with children! It is a food truck with all the yummy RI favorites! And it has picnic table seating, find an open table and Pop a squat eat and enjoy the view! The lobster roll is killer! No messy mayo just large chunks for lobster meat! And it comes with either fries or a clam cake, get the clam cake they are great!!! The stuffie’s are okay, I have had better. The kids eat and go look at the boats and wander and no worries that they are in a confined space bathering others! During summer evenings they have live music as well so check it out if you are looking for a casual place to eat and hang out for a bit! Enjoy!!!

My buttered lobster roll only had 6+ claws on it. And a clam cake. The chowder and clam cakes could envy Iggy’s (though I’m a huge Blount’s fan). Seriously divine. The lobster roll is the real star and was huge for the toasted bun. I love the light mayo and the fresh meat. It was so sweet and delicious!
They have a great outdoor seating area which is a little cold in the spring but would be perfect in the summer. The ordering is a little strange but get your chowder and cakes at the second window with the drinks.

It’s a nice, cute casual place to have some seafood and sit by the water and take in views and sunshine.
Prices like others are fair and balanced in decent I feel.
Parking can be tight but they do have another lot to the left upon driving in at their market place.
Plenty of bathrooms and staff around to help. Like that they have an express line if your just getting chowder and cakes.
Plenty of places to sit with the picnic tables under the tent.

A cute, casual, fun little place right on the water, with fairly-​priced, classic New England seafood.
The lobster rolls are to die for. The lobster is so fresh and juicy, it would be a sin to kill it with so much mayo. Their lobster salad is subtly seasoned and served in generous portions. There was so much lobster in my roll, I could hardly see the bun. I chose to go with onion rings as my side, which were pretty good but a little underdone.
You also can’t go wrong with their clamcakes and chowder. They’ve got the best on this side of the bay. The clamcakes are always done just right and are never too greasy, and the chowder is thick, delicious, and loaded with clams.
This is very casual outdoor dining, but you can’t go wrong with this spot for a classic New England lunch.

After a morning in Colt State Park, we headed over to Blount Clam Shack for lunch, which is located off a short distance from Route 114, just off Water Street. But don’t worry about searching for parking on little Water Street, as there’s plenty of private parking available after you drive in and pass by the large buildings. Said parking is available on either side of the clam shack by the water, just read the signs to know where NOT to park.
Blount Clam Shack consisted of a pair of trailer-​ish structures set together in L shape with a variety of outdoor seating strewn about, some beneath a large white tent.
Food orders are placed at the first «ORDER HERE» window. Drinks seem to be available at the further off Express Shack, where the soda fountain was located. Once your order is placed and paid for (credit card accepted!), you are given a can with a large number, so that your food can find you.
Gee, were they quick! I took a quick look around, and by the time I returned to the table, the food had already beat me there!
Between the three of us, we had ordered a platter of their whole belly clams with sweet potato fries for an additional charge ($ 20.49 vs $ 18.99), two of the clam chowder with clam cake combo ($ 5.99 for a cup plus 3 clam cakes), and a bowl of their lobster bisque ($ 4.99).
The clam cakes were huger than expected. I thought maybe they’d be the size of a golf-​ball, so two per person would be about right… but no siree bob! They were perhaps 2.5 inches in diameter. Mostly carb, but a soft dough with a crisp surface, and though my first bite turned up nary a clam, the 2^nd unearthed two large tender chunks of the shellfish. They were pretty good with the NE clam chowder, but so filling, we resigned ourselves to one apiece and took the 2^nd bag of 3 clam cakes home along with the little bags of oyster crackers provided.
The NE clam chowder was traditional white creamy stuff with cubed potatoes and clams — tasty, but nothing special to this New Englander. Their lobster bisque, however, was a tasty rendition, lumpy with tiny bits of lobster meat floating within. Perhaps not the best I’ve had, but still, really good.
My 2^nd clams of the season were quite respectable — satisfying in size and taste and texture — but our Maine experience will be hard to beat, with its larger creatures surrounded by a light flakier coating. The sweet potato fries were good with a nice surface crisp — worth the additional $ 1.50 charge.
I’d be happy to stop by here again should we be in the area. Too bad though that the locally parked boats which add so much to the atmosphere of the shack bring with them the unpleasant aroma of gasoline at times.
Three portapotties are located off by the parking lot — two of which are the larger handicap accessible ones.
