Got locked out of my car. Guy had me back in the car within about 15 minutes. Very happy and the price was reasonable.

Worst experience with a towing company I have ever had. They were sent to pick me up by an outside roadside assistance company and they came THREE TIMES and were unable to hook the tow to my VW, waiting up to 3 hours between each visit. There was then a dispute with the payment and the tow truck driver threatened to impound my car and not let me out of the truck — essentially blackmailing me for refusing to pay additional fees for their unsuccessful visits. Extremely terrible and I actually witnessed borderline illegal behavior by the tow truck driver and the Pro Tech dispatcher.

Waiting on a tire change. He can’t find me. I am at a FIRE DEPARTMENT. So rude on the phone. So many times I was put on hold with no warning. I’m talking and a hear the hold music!
So angry right now.

After waiting an hour and a half for a tow ordered through Mini Roadside, they said they never «got the fax». They offered to pick me up another 90 minutes later. No thank you.

These guys are a mess.
We had a tow scheduled (via BMW roadside assistance). They were meant to take us from our home in Needham to the dealer in Allston.
At the scheduled time, we watched the tow truck roll up to the house, very slowly as it was about to stop — then inexplicably, hit the gas and drive away. We waited about 15 minutes, in the off chance that the driver may have thought they had the wrong house, and maybe they were coming back.
After it was clear they weren’t, I called Pro Tech, only to be greeted by a gruff voice on the other line, telling me that they had no jobs scheduled in Needham — despite the fact that I had the confirmation, and had literally just seen the truck outside of the house.
When I explained this, the person on the phone said «we have a lot of trucks out there» and abruptly hung up.
I called BMW roadside assistance back (they had scheduled the tow), to learn that Pro Tech had simply cancelled the job at the last minute, with no explanation, and told no one.
Pro Tech… you had one job, and you sucked at it.

1 star because the driver was polite. They lost 4 stars because they screwed me over. I am a AAA customer. AAA contracts them for towing. My car was disabled at a rest stop on I-​95 in Lexington today. I waited an hour and a half for Pro Tech to arrive (not too bad). After arriving, the truck driver noticed I was leaking fluids. He refused to tow my car unless AAA would agree to pay a cleaning fee of $ 65. This is a slow drip mind you, and — they are in the business of towing disabled cars! Of course they’re going to be towing cars that are leaking fluids, every day I’m sure!
Nonetheless, I was pretty motivated to get the hell out of there so I offered to pay the $ 65 out of my pocket. That wasn’t good enough. They wanted someone from AAA to call the Pro Tech office and confirm that I would not seek reimbursement from AAA for this charge. AAA said «forget it, we’ll send someone else to get you».
All this is about some kind of business issue between Pro Tech and AAA. Yet Pro Tech used me as a pawn in this disagreement. They have no beef with me, yet I was the one that had to wait for not 1 tow truck today, but 2. It took 3 hours total to get a truck. The whole time I was waiting in my car which must have been ~85 degrees. All so they can make some kind of point to AAA.
The driver that ended up towing me said he had heard they have been finding small issues with AAA customers so they could charge them extra $. example, they’ve made people pay extra if their car is parked front end in rather than out.

My car broke down today. Stranding my dog and I in Lexington. I called AAA and they sent these guys out… The guy got there and told me my 11 pound 13 year old dog would have to ride in my car. Mind you its 80 degrees out and I drive a black car with a black top. He assured me it would be fine, «we leave windows open a little.» I then said no that that was unacceptable and that I had a bag in my car for her, could I put her in that? The answer was no. No accommodation at all. I asked for his managers # repeatedly, and after my 5 time asking he pointed to the side of the truck where there was a #. He kept telling me had all these other calls, and pressuring me to make up my mind! Honestly, I could understand if I had a big dog, or if she had been excited, in the least, instead of laying in my arms her head dropped panting heavily. But no. They wanted me to put her in the car with the windows cracked for what turned out to be a 40 minute drive! Which I’m pretty sure is illegal… Screw him and screw this company! I tried to lodge a complaint at the company and the guy just kept saying thank you, thank you, thank you, so I’m sure that was effective! I will be complaining to AAA as well! And anyone else that will listen! Stay away from these creeps!

Watch out for the battery scam! Came to help me charge a battery via AAA. Said he could check my battery if I wanted and I was like why the hell not (shouldn’t you be doing that anyways?). The whole thing just felt sketchy in that I knew the ultimate end game would be he telling me that my battery was junk. And well of course that’s what he said as he offered to replace my battery at what seemed to be a 200% markup. I said no, drove home and had it tested at a service center near my house. Result? Battery is fine. Please please please watch out for these scam artists.

They are sucks!!! They delayed 40 mins with no phone call or something like that. And their attitude was terrible.

My battery went dead and the AAA division of Pro Tech came in ten minutes. $ 125. When I drove the car a few hours later, the battery warning sign on the dash lit up. I took it to the dealer (Bernardi Honda) and they told me the wrong battery had been installed, plus I needed a part that connected the battery to the on board computer. $ 350. Now I’m out a total of
$ 475. I explained the situation to the manager at Pro Tech who was polite and understanding.
A few days later, he handed me a check for $ 350. It’s very rare for a business these days to admit a mistake and make it right with no hassle or argument. I’ve been buying my gas at Pro Tech for the last eight years and they have great prices and great service. They are busy for a reason.

I was waiting for them a long, long, LOONG time. I had lunch and dinner while I was waiting. 3+ hours total until they showed up.
The driver was professional, pleasant and made the ride home an easy one.
I would have given them 5 stars if it was not for the wait.

I had to have my car towed this morning, and I was quoted 45 min. Carlos showed up right on time as promised. He is the nicest driver, and had me laughing the whole ride to the dealership. I was so angry with my situation, but he was able to calm me down while being a complete professional. Definitely recommend!!!

Nasty guy on the phone in charge !!
The guy I spoke with on the phone was rude and annoying. Was given a 35 minute time frame to reach my broken down car but the towing guys reached in about 5 mins. Then the phone operator calls me and yells and shouts to reach fast. Terrible!
The towing chaps though very pleasant. They did the job well.
But I wouldn’t call this place again thanks to the horrible guy in charge of operating this place

Please use this company if you are willing to wait days to have your car towed. The driver arrived over 2 ½ hours late, and when they arrived, they claimed not to have received the call. They left without towing the car. Imagine being stuck on a freeway with such an unreliable, disrespectful company. Pass at your own peril; they do not want to take care of what you need.

On a blustery 5 degree morning, I hit a legendary pothole and knew my tire was toast.
I pulled into a Shell gas station, called roadside assistance, and was given the usual 60 minute window. I settled in to waste my data watching Netflix on my mobile. However, not five minutes into an episode of FNL, the truck pulled in. The driver was kind and an extremely fast worker. Although I was trying to look tough standing next to him as he readied the jack, he saw that I was freezing and allowed me to sit in my car with the heat cranking as he put the spare on.
The whole ordeal took 20 minutes. Stellar work from a kind technician. I wish my brain hadn’t been frozen so I could’ve remembered to get his name!

Just what I needed
I hit something in the road and all the sudden tire went flat. Pulled over in gas station with garage that was closed, they were no help. Called for tow and waited about 40 mins and the driver arrived. quickly hooked up car and drove me to a garage nearby. We dropped off the car and then he gave me a ride around the corner to my house!
The driver made an unpleasant event much easier to get through! Thanks.

So my work vehicle died 100 feet from their shop in acton. It needed a jump start. My corporate road service gave me an hour to two to wait. I walked over and asked if I could borrow a battery charger. He said sure. I said how much, he said $ 0… A mechanic that charges $ 0 who ever heard of that.

I’m less than a block down the road and I asked if they could help me because I locked myself out of the car. They wanted $ 55 to open the door. $ 55…

As I was standing by the side of the road, I read some of the Unilocal reviews so I thought I would add another view. I realize that every interaction is real and the disappointment or satisfaction is largely dependent on which location/​driver responds.
On Saturday afternoon, my vehicle suddenly and inexplicably decided not to run anymore. I called the dealer and they suggested some fixes. None worked. So –with their help — I called the roadside assistance. Roadside assistance contacted Pro Tech which texted me that it would be an hour to respond.
Much to my surprise, about 30 minutes later, the flatbed truck arrived. The service attendant/​driver, Mark, was friendly, courteous and worked expeditiously to assess the issue (which was beyond the capacity of mortal men) and loaded the car. I rode with him to the dealer and watched him expertly drop the vehicle into a parking space between two vehicles.
He was great. The service was great. It may not always be so but this guy was terrific.
